While I was purusing, I heard the sales associates helpiing others with book searches and book club information. It sounds like they have a number of book clubs going at the same time which makes me green with envy. Somebody please open a bookstore like this in Santa Clarita Valley, Ca.! At the time of my visit there was a children's reading event going on in the children's section. There were young adults picking out their spring break reads. There is also a courtyard and coffee shop somewhat attached. I did not try the coffee, but will the next time I am in Manhattan Beach. This is a charming bookstore, well designed, with sooo many staff picks and recommendations. Make sure to pay them a visit when you are in the area. And if you live close by, I hate you :) I paid to park on the street very close to the shop, however there may be other parking I am not sure. Happy Reading!

They carry a great selection of books: new releases, children's books, cookbooks, travel guides, gifts, and more. They also host tons of author events, workshops, and community gatherings. The staff is always very helpful and while the prices are what you'd expect for a small, local shop, the experience is worth it. One of my favorite things is the cozy open area they share with the coffee shop next door but you do have to leave your drink outside the entrance to Pages. Parking can be tricky and usually requires paying a meter, but it's a small price to pay for such a great browsing experience. You're almost guaranteed to walk out with something new to read or gift.

They have started to carry more new books and so it's not just a used book store any longer and more popular titles might be new. The young adult/kid area has been expanding and they keep books in stock for local schools that the schools recommend like for Battle of the books. Huge Harry Potter selection for your kids. I usually just ask for what I need for my adult book club and they can tell me if they have it in stock quickly. As a cozy neighborhood bookstore, what sets it apart is definitely the people (amazing, welcoming, and knowledgeable staff) and the overall vibe. The layout is awesome. Easy to find what you are looking for and a fabulous selection. The children section is impressive in particular and they do at least weekly children book readings. They have both new and lightly used books (indicated by star sticker on spine); definitely try the lightly used as they can be a great value. Lastly, you must find the resident feline (cat) that is always at the store (particularly fun when you're there with kids). Very privileged to have this bookstore in our community.

Thankfully, Book Soup has a little bookstore inside the international terminal at LAX, and I dropped in for a quick shop before it was time to board. I love the main Book Soup in West Hollywood, as well as its larger sister store Vroman's in Pasadena. This airport outpost is less interesting, of course, but it's an excellent airport bookstore, with a good selection of titles organized for easy browsing, plus plenty of gift items to impulse buy near the register. I picked up a copy of Andrew Sean Greer's new novel "Villa Coco," which seemed like the perfect read for a vacation in Europe, and a paperback of "Bunny" by Mona Awad. I also got a cool Los Angeles-themed bookmark for my kid, who recently started reading books on his own. Buying two books for a trip with kids was beyond hopeful (I believe I read 25 pages total before coming home), but they were books I wanted anyway, and I look forward to reading them. If you have more free time on your trip, I'd highly recommend a visit to Book Soup before you go. At the very least, it's a fun place to browse.

This Book Off is amazing. Has great selection of manga, toy figurines, video games, books, and…read moremovies. I personally come here to sell stuff to get cash back and sometimes you can score back a lot (depends on the value and demand of what you are selling). My favorite part has to definitely be how you can get certain video games for a discount budget compared to other major retailers. Like some games that still sell for 59.99 you can find at this book off for a cool 40-45 plus taxes, which is neat.

If it wasn't, it was still definitely above average online used pricing. Some random examples I can remember: - "Halo 3" Soundtrack CD with a dirty and beat-up case for $30. A quick look online and I can buy new and sealed copies for $28 with free shipping. - "You've Got Mail" Blu-Ray used for $15. You can buy this brand new online for $9.99 with free shipping. There were plenty other items that were the same story. Not sure what the logic is with their pricing, it really is terrible. The organization also isn't the best. I found many CD's or movies that were in the wrong section. The good news is that they have a pretty good, but small, clearance section. I believe it's $3 per Blu-Ray, $2 per DVD, and $1 per music CD. They have a pretty decent selection for clearance. Overall disappointed. If you're close by, it's worth checking out the clearance sections. If not, I'd avoid the trip. There are plenty of other local stores that sell physical media for normal prices.

There is a playfulness about everything and I always walk out of there feeling the good vibes. And their gift wrapping is on point! The owners are involved in the community and care about making the South Bay a welcoming space. As a gay family in Hermosa it can feel sometimes like we are the only ones, but when my kids see the rainbows and pride on our usual walk from the beach up Pier Ave, I know we have settled in the right place to raise our family and are so grateful for neighbors like Curious making our little beach community feel like home.
