I accept part of the blame for ordering a steak from a place like this. Anyway, ordered a New York strip medium rare. Arrived well done with no red in site in the steak. Brought it up to the server who agreed and took it to the back. The manager and chef argued that it was just the lighting(natural light) that made it look completely gray and that in their kitchen light it was red and medium rare. It's one thing if they don't make me another steak, but to argue that a clearly well done steak with no red to be found is medium rare and not admit the mistake is pretty terrible customer service. At least the server was nice and apologized several times read more

Started off with no acknowledgment from the hostess staff who told us to sit anywhere then proceeded to ignore us. We chose to sit in the bar area and the bartender, don't remember his name, waited on us and was AWESOME!! Food was pretty good, nothing earth shattering. Nice place to go if you're looking for casual dining. read more

Overall a 4. Has a huge menu too many choices. I wished they used more local food vendors and shore options. Most items we had lacked flavor or seasoning. Our service is what pulled it all together. read more

The food is terrible. We ordered the coconut shrimp and it tasted very strongly of chlorine. The beans were straight from a can and the rice had no flavor at all. The only thing going for this restaurant is the view of the ocean, but the food makes it not worth it. read more

Garbage food. We just got some nachos, seared tuna and coconut shrimp. It was the most awful food I have ever had at a restaurant. The drinks and scenery were fine however I would never eat there. read more

Business wasn't busy at all when we went in around 4:30 pm. . Service was excellent with Jordan as our server but, I got house salad with grilled chicken . Salad wasn't as fresh and grilled chicken not at all seasoned and dry . Hubby got NY strip steak not seasoned cooked too much as he wanted medium .Mash potatoes were good and broccoli and zucchini cooked good but cold . Crab and spinach dip excellent and tomato soup with crab tasted excellent. Sitting by the window looking at the ocean was lovely. We should have went to the steak place across the way . read more

TLDR: beautiful views, subpar service, mediocre food I have heard from a few friends that Mangos is a great spot for views and drinks but not necessarily food, and after grabbing dinner there I definitely agree. We went for my dad's birthday, ate outside with a gorgeous view of the beach as the sun was setting. I ordered a taco salad bowl that was bland, not horrible but not super satisfying. My dad got the burger and felt it was average, he comes to Mango's semi-often and always jokes they skimp on the fries (pictured). My mom enjoyed her tuna tacos, she found them filling and flavorful. Service was not great but this could be due to overall labor shortage. I wish the employees wore masks to increase safety for both patrons and staff. read more

Can't speak for the food. We didn't come here to eat! Came here on our last night of vacation to drink and have fun. Had a blast and met wonderful people!! We got the Giant Moscow mule which was like 196oz or something crazy. We actually drank almost all of it entirely. A few people asked us for a sip which was hilarious but of course we said no because of the pandemic I also got a really good Pina Coloda here and it came in a souvenir coconut glass which I still have read more

Happy Hour 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The wings, shrimp, and chicken tenders are good on the happy hour menu and such a fun atmosphere. They play fun 80's music, lots of TVs to watch the games, and the best view of the beach and boardwalk in Bethany. Atmosphere and views are great! The food on the other hand is terrible! If you like way overpriced terrible food that looks and tastes like something a college student whipped up in their dorm room microwave...this is the spot for you. If you prefer reasonably priced decent food you should find somewhere else to spend your money. Or just come for the alcohol during happy hour and eat somewhere else. read more

Lots of space indoor and outdoor. Ambiance is super fun. Staff seemed busy and disheveled. Drinks were good. We got crushes of course! The menu is pricey for incredibly sub par food. Same level as Ropewalk - you go for the vibe not the food. Reminds me of a Bubba Gump.... I got a Caesar salad with jerk chicken and it barely had any flavor. Not sure how you do that to jerk chicken. I will say the staff were lovely and the location /ambiance would make me come back! Food is just so bland and overpriced. I will say the crab cakes were great and resins my priced. Broiled perfectly. Bland rice and veggies on the side though. read more

As average as a restaurant can be. Was seated and didn't get a waitress after 15 mins and having to visit the hostess stand. Ordered two crushes, a mango crush and a creamsicle crush, the waitress didn't know which was which when she brought them and we couldn't taste a difference between them anyways - who is to say they were even the right drinks. Ordered the calamari as an appetizer - it was good, nothing to write home about, but still good. My fiancé and I both ordered the surf and turf. I know it's a big meal, but it took 40 minutes between ordering and it getting to our table, which is a little long in my book. The crab cake was subpar, especially compared to other restaurants in the area. The vegetables were kind of boring. We both doctored them up with salt, pepper, and lemon juice and then they were fine. Neither of our steaks were cooked how we ordered them (ordered medium rare, got well/medium-well). BUT, the steak was one of the most tender, juiciest steaks I have ever had. The steak was the saving grace of this dining experience. Definitely one of the best I have ever had. Our waitress was very nice and polite, not very personable (which is okay, not everyone is like that) and made very few, very short stops to our table. And again, I'm not sure why it took so long to just get our drink order. It seems the majority of the staff that I saw are high school or early college age. I am all for this! But, there needs to be some more experienced individuals there to help guide them. Service was probably more of a 2/5. Food was probably 2.5/5, but I'll be generous and bump them up to a 3/5. Drinks were very tasty (even though they didn't taste like what the description says we ordered), so I'll give a 4/5. This was my first visit and I'm not sure if I'll ever be back just because there's many better restaurants in the same immediate area as Mango's. read more

For a Caribbean themed place everything was flavorless. I've never tasted a crab cake with no flavor. The rice and beans were just cooked with water not even salt. The service was pretty good though. Ok, it's November, in De., @ the beach, things have slowed down or shut down for the season...I get it! But, for the places that are open still doing business, then the customer is only to assume, "it's business as usual "....come on in! Not the case @ Mangos. We went there for an early family of 6 dinner, including our 2 grandkids. There were only 2-3 @ the bar, 3-4 people on the floor/tables, so obviously not busy at all. After we got seated, we waited a reasonable 5+ minutes before we were greeted by our waitress, very nice young lady, we got our drinks (water) after 15 minutes, then we all ordered & asked for the kids food to come out as soon as possible. That was the last we saw our waitress for over 45 minutes. I never saw anyone within eye contact to help, so I had to walk back to kitchen door & asked for her & was told she's probably busy. WHAT??? Ok, at this point, the kids were hungry & getting tired quick & we were all out of patience. Finally, our meals were served, all @ same time, and we were all tired of waiting so long & ready to go home. As far as the food, none of us had anything much better than average tasting food, some overcooked, etc. We left with a lot of unwanted food on our plates because it wasn't that good, the waitstaff & cook staff were sub-standard, & even though it looked like a cool place, the lack of decent help, service & good food was not happening here! read more

I don't understand the bad rating. This place is right above the boardwalk with a view overlooking the ocean. I don't usually find a lunch place serving swordfish and I am very happy they do. I'm not sure how this restaurant hasn't been shut down by the health department. We arrived for an early dinner and there was a "smell". As I looked around, there was 6" of dust on all the lights and ceiling fans and what appeared to be mold on the window sills. DO NOT use the restrooms!! Perhaps all those kids standing around could come in early a few days and take a bleach bucket to everything! I understand it's busy but do better! read more

Not the greatest food I've ever tasted. Went to Mango's with my wife, she ordered the Halibut, I order the crab cakes. They had to be the worst tasting crab cakes I've ever had. I'm not even sure they were crab at all, they were horrible. I'm from Maryland so I know what crab cakes should taste like, just bad. The service was just about as bad as the crab cakes. To be fair I think it was just our server because all of the other servers seemed attentive to their customers, ours was not. At least we got to watch him eat his dinner while we waited for our food. The only time he came to our table was for our order and to give us our bill. On a positive note my wife liked her Halibut. read more

This was my first time to notice this restaurant with my family of 6, therefore, we decided to eat here for lunch without a reservation. Mango's is owned by the TST restaurant group. Mangos is located on the second floor on the boardwalk overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. They offer the best restaurant view of the Atlantic Ocean. We were seated immediately inside. I later realized we could have eaten outside on their deck overlooking the ocean. Mango's has a large bar and entertainment area, therefore, this place must be hopping during the summer nights. I enjoyed their two orange crushes for $9 each. We shared and enjoyed the calamari for $15. I also enjoyed my rare blackened tuna sandwich for $18. My tuna was properly cooked. Brenda C. served our table well. My total bill was $142 less gratuities. We will likely return here for lunch, weather permitting to again enjoy the view of the Atlantic Ocean. read more

Cool bar, excellent view, worst lemon crush in the area. Tasted like just club soda with lemon. Bummer.

Disappointing front desk experience today. Walked in and asked for table of six. They said sure and then said we need to wait for the rest of your party. Then a party of nine arrived and they sat them with only five. When I confronted her she said, "they had a a majority of their party " Needless to say I was pissed and feel if u are going to have a rule to have your entire party there, then stick to it. read more

We showed up with a group of 25+ for dinner at 7:40pm (kitchen closes at 8)on their 2nd day open for the season (we called ahead and they said come on in). Allison was our server and she was amazing. She kept track of 10 different checks in our group, service was quite quick and not a single mistake or something forgotten. The food was fantastic. Personally I had the chicken tacos and the chicken was perfectly cooked and the salsa was delicious. My daughter had the chicken broccoli penne and raved over it and ate every bite. read more

Our waitress was great! She was attentive and helpful. Food was ridiculous! My ribs were old and extremely small , steamed veggies were so tasteless half a cup probably canned beans ... our other order was salad with swordfish! It was Was a joke The fish was so so tiny and the salad was 1/3 portion of what a normal $25 salad with fish would be. Why so disappointing for a restaurant with such a beautiful view?! Why can't the management just take a good look at why this place and it's ratings and take it to a better level? What's so hard about serving better quality and portion for the prices you charge? Our 1/2 LB shrimp appetizer that had shell and legs attached was not terribly bad but needed help?! Why because all the shrimps were hard to eat. This type of food only means one thing to your customers : ( not all) Please don't come back because we don't serve fresh dissent meals, and it's fine for some standards if they will !!! We paid almost $90 and we were not satisfied. We will not go back, nor do we recommend this place. Sorry read more

It's our last day at the beach and we wanted to go somewhere to get a nice lunch. Mangos was recommended by a friend, we already knew they had a very nice view. We came in and the servers were quite friendly and the person who served us was friendly too. The problem was the food; for an appetizer we ordered nachos. These nachos were lacking, they had no options for toppings and were basically chips with a little bit of salsa, cheese, and jalapeños. Honestly some of the worst nachos i've ever had. The entree wasn't impressive either, my burger wasn't as I had ordered and was overcooked. The breakfast burrito had a dry tortilla and wasn't pleasing either. What made me give Mango's three stars was the friendly service, awesome view, and cool, refreshing drink. read more

Mango's is a beachside restaurant that offers inside and outside (covered rooftop) dining. Their ahi tuna, calamari, coconut shrimp, and clams were good. The tropical/pork sliders were a little bland and dry, so I wouldn't get them again. The "crushes" are great cocktails with a nice variety of flavors. It is more of a place for apps and drinks rather than a nice dinner. read more

We enjoyed delicious food and prompt, friendly service at an outside table with outstanding views of the beach, ocean, and boardwalk. My family has been going to Mangos for years. Usually it's a family favorite. We started off ok. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. We got our drinks in a timely manner. Our appetizers were delicious - calamari (my sons wanted more marinara, spinach crab dip and the tomato crab soup. Delightful. The things went downhill. We ordered 2 mahi tacos, 1 cod taco and a crab pasta. 3 of 4 dishes showed up. My husband's cod tacos didn't show. Waiter apologized and said he'd rush the cod tacos. My kids wolfed down their mahi tacos. I ate some of my crab pasta, my hungry husband shared. No cod tacos. My youngest polished off my dish. No cod tacos arrived. No rushed order from the kitchen. No apologetic manager. Waiter comped the tacos that he packaged to go. My husband is still livid an hour later... Funny thing - it wasn't packed. 2 of the rooms were empty. #epicfail read more

Went here on a Tuesday night to watch an NBA Finals game and the service was incredible! Pina Colada's were really good too, as well as the coconut shrimp, and good atmosphere to watch the game at the beach. For a Tuesday after 9PM, the bar was really busy, which made the ambiance enjoyable, and we had a good view of their many TVs to watch the game. Only reason this is getting four stars instead of five is that they switched to a late night menu after 10PM (understandable) but it was kind of weird options for bar food and we were hungry and didn't want what they had. If I could take off half a star for that I would, BUT it was something memorable that I was disappointed about. read more

Came with a party of 8. When we were seated nobody thought to give us napkins and silverware despite me mentioning it to the server after our appetizers came. I eventually got up and had to retrieve sets of napkins, silverware and appetizer plates off a big empty table close by us. Good things were that we got seated quickly, the view is great and all food orders were correct. But, the food was average. I got coconut shrimp that was a bit overcooked with very bland rice and beans, and undercooked, flavorless vegetables. I would not order it again. Overall we thought the appetizers we ordered were better than the entrees. The servers were slow to remove dirty dishes which is one of my biggest peeves at a restaurant - when glasses and plates pile up. From looking at tables nearby, they seem to just leave all the dirty dishes and then clean the table after everyone leaves. It would be nice to train servers to take away dirty glasses when new drinks are brought. With a party of 8 they stacked up. I really wanted to like this place. If I were to go back, I would probably stick to drinks and appetizers and enjoy the view. read more

Love the view and vibe of this place! The menu is extensive and right up my alley. Service is friendly and attentive...

Food not well seasoned, price is higher than expected for the value. Good view of the beach

Great location, on the beach, nice service, but definitely looks better than it tastes. Jerk wings were blah tasting and over cooked, the filet mignon tasted like, well didn't taste like anything, the crab cakes were boring, and veggies, while colorful, were nothing but colorful. read more

I will admit I was initially nervous at the overall rating of this place, given that most of the recent reviews have been really good. I found out they have happy hour 7 days a week from 1:00-6:00pm. Being right on the beach, what's the worst that could happen? So I checked it out for myself. When I got there, I saw a small bar to the left, and was then told by the hostess that a bigger bar was behind the big wall straight ahead. When I walked there, it was completely full... but thankfully I was signaled by this young couple who was about to leave so I could sit. How thoughtful! So with the help of the bartender, I got a menu and saw some great happy hour options. It appears that the most famous thing is their mango margarita, but they have rails, beers and wine too. The mango margarita is frozen, and you can get either a small one or a big one. I found it to be quite delicious. After that, I decided to go with the FlamAngo, which was a mind eraser inside a plastic flamingo that is supposed to be drank as a shooter. How cool is that?? Well that was good too, and the video is timeless lol. As for the food, I got the chicken tenders and the black bean hummus. The tenders weren't big at all, but they weren't quite as fried as I was expecting, which was a nice surprise. And the honey mustard with them was bomb. The hummus had some salsa on top of it, and was surrounded by a full plate of tortilla chips. I was surprised to see a long plantain chip sticking out of the top, but it was all delicious too! I couldn't help but enjoy myself while watching the World Cup, and looking outside the window at the ocean. It was pretty crowded too, but the service was fast, and I don't really have any complaints. When I visit the city again I'm stopping through! read more

Very surprised at the lackluster reviews! My friend and I decided to venture out to Bethany beach and made reservations for lunch. Very impressed by how they are managing the restaurant during Covid. We sat apart from other tables and were given paper menus. We got the calamari for appetizers and got drinks. They didn't have two of the drinks I needed but it's fine stock is variable during the pandemic. Calamari was okay. Wish the breading was more flavorful. I ended up getting the mango crush which was absolutely delicious! For entree I got the garlic Chipotle shrimp with rice and subed my vegetables for French fries (since I'm a fatty lol). The fries were delicious and crispy and the rice was pretty good too! The shrimp was the obviously star of the show and was super flavorful! I just wish I got more shrimp haha. Overall experience was great. The staff is very nice and got us whatever we wanted. Def. Will come back to eat and drink in the future read more

Finally tried Mango's for the first time and enjoyed our dining experience. We went during the week and were able to grab a table immediately. The room we were seated in was a bit loud but we could still hold a conversation with our group. For our meals we had the jerk chicken wings, nachos, surf & turf, house salad and cheeseburger. The burger and nachos were pretty basic and just ok. The salad was decent and a decent size. The surf and turf was good and quite filling, but it was a bit pricey at $45. The jerk chicken wings were probably the best as they were packed with a ton of flavor. If anything they could have been a bit crispier but they were pretty good. The service was fast and our waitress was friendly. Overall we enjoyed dining here and will be back to try more from their menu. read more

Wow. Just Wow. The flies were horrific inside the restaurant. I asked the manager if they can invest in door screens. He said I can't help the weather."
