Own a house in town and are always entertaining out of town folks. Mangos was always on our list. No more. Terrible experience this last time. One meal never came out at all. Our guests had to share a meal! Most of the table ate their meals with no drink refills. I was sharing my drink with my son. For the price you pay, the food has become average at best. We were in Ocean City, friends had a place in Bethany, and we wanted to meet for dinner. We were only a bit familiar with Bethany restaurants and asked them to choose a no place not too loud so we could talk. They chose this spot, which looked out over the water, got a corner table where the volume wasnt bad (for a crowded restaurant), and had a wide selection to accommodate various tastes and food restrictions. The meal satisfied all of those criteria, and was better than the 2.5 starsnit was rated. But none of the entrees were more than 3 stars in flavor, and the service wasn't anything more either. We came here for lunch and sat out on the deck. While we didn't have any real complaints about the food. We had fish tacos, sliders and grilled chicken sandwiches along with frozen margaritas. Food was awful, service was good. My dad ordered the claims which legit tastes like poo.. the woman's bathroom smelled just like them. He also had a taco salad which sounded a lot better than it was. It was pitiful. I ordered the tacos which weren't bad, I got the grilled veggie option. Now for the WORST part: my poor grandma. She loves crab cakes, gets one wherever we go. Theirs was $18 market price for the SANDWICH. OK- still wanted it, so they bring it out, it was so so so so sooo small... AND burnt. She wasn't happy and I wasn't happy for her and my dad was mad because his "taco" salad was just salad. So the waitress asked how everything was and we told her about the crabcake so she immediately said she would take it and have a new one made up. (Which I was thankful for) when they brought the new one out... it was... the very same crabcake.. just broken apart. All the burnt pieces were broken up on the inside.. and now it was EVEN SMALLER. We just finished dinner here, 4 people. Really difficult to pick a place to eat since there are so many options around here. We came upstairs and sat out side with ocean view. Absolutely stunning, with the moon light now. Our waiter Eric was amazing and working wry hard. Super polite, professional and friendly. We had spinach and crab dip also jerked chicken. Both were really great,came out on time. For dinner I got Caesar salad w the crab cake, we gift the Swordfish, and the key west crab cakes and the Red shrimp off the app menu!! Dinner was really good. The Crab cakes were really really good. Eric highly recommended it and we were so glad we got them. Service was on time as well. Hopefully we will be back next summer. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!! Dinner September 6, 2020. We called the restaurant and made reservations for 8 after a friend recommended it. Unfortunately, the reservation process was the high point of this experience! We had requested outdoor seating and were seated on resin chairs on the deck! One look at the menu and the pricing our expectations ran high! The menu was elaborate and the prices on the high side. 3 of us ordered mango based cocktails that arrived unmixed and in layers. There was no alcohol to speak of and they looked like colors poured into cold water. One if the Mano Crushes arrived with a garnish and when we inquired about the other, the answer was that it was not a garnish but an identifier for a skinnier version! They took the drinks back and supposedly added a shot of vodka each so that we could at least taste the alcohol but we couldn't tell the difference! The various entrees that arrived had no flavor and bland. When we complained we were given a variety of reasons for sauces being absent - no sauce due to risk of cross contamination, oh, we forgot, etc. The service was poor and the server was not versed in any of the menu items. At the end, after paying when we complained to the manager, he was totally dismissive of all our complaints and told us he "would look into it". This was by far the worst restaurant experience we have add in recent memory where absolutely nothing met expectations! Stay clear of this place and save your precious time and money. read more

Nice location and accommodating for seating but that's about it. Here's what was horrible: Cheap plastic chairs. Mixed drinks - mango crush looked and tasted more like yellow sugar water with no alcohol. 5 out of 8 dishes tasted horrible and tasted anything like what the description was, e.g. garlic chipotle shrimp had no garlic or shrimp. The server forgot to give all of the sauces. Above all, manager took no responsibility and wasn't willing to accept any wrongdoing. I would not recommend this place at all. So off he went to find the manager and returned saying it's ALWAYS been $11 and even though the menu says $6, they will not adjust the price this one time for us. Now, it's not like we were trying to be stingy over $5 but if you advertise your drink at $6, is it really unreasonable for your guest to dispute it when the bill comes? We then requested to see the manager and he arrived in a huff and said they would discount it this one time but they would never do it again since the regular price is $11. Okay then, how about updating your menu or even better, update your website which hasn't seen an update since 2006? He was very condescending and I almost said, "Don't worry, it won't matter because I probably will not be returning...ever." So after we got the bill adjusted, instead of seeing if we were paying with multiple cards/cash, he ended up running just the one card we had stuck in the waiter wallet when we were originally trying to figure out the bill. So one person of our party had the whole bill charged to her when we had planned to split with cash and cards. The customer service is lacking...Last Spring,We asked kindly if they could toast the bun for my husband's chicken sandwich...the host said they were too busy...Wow-they weren't that busy. Fun atmosphere, great beachfront view, and terrific service. Was initially skeptical given touristy location and only so so prior reviews. Our server, Racquel, was amazing. It's always a good sign when the server has worked there for 4 consecutive summers, knows the menu well enough to make informed recommendations, and is charming and delightful. The food was surprisingly good. The wings apps (Miami and Jerk) were terrific considering you're in Delaware. Our party of 6 people also ordered mahi mahi fish tacos, filet mignon, coconut shrimp, salmon and the chicken and broccoli dishes. All were surprisingly excellent for a bar-pub. See our pictures. The drinks were moderately priced, especially if you order before 6pm when happy hour ends. Note: happy hour deals only at the bar. Would definitely come back. The downsides? The outside balcony area can attract seagulls with their loud squawking. It doesn't help when restaurant patrons try and feed them food from the balcony!! This restaurant was in a great location, had a great view of the beach and boardwalk, and it wasn't crowded. The service was great and offered to take pictures for our family. All of the servers were really nice and our food came out in less than 10 minutes and tasted delicious! The food servings were also a good size and everyone was able to finish their entire meal. This place has a lot to offer for both children and adults. Would definitely recommend for everyone especially families. read more

I've been to Mango's many times. If I had to guess, I would say, 35. On the sign outside it says "Carribean beats, Exotic eats." In my 30+ times here, I have never heard a carribean song played (they play soft rock) and the closest thing to an exotic eats that I would order again is the jerk wings(no jamaican would think so). My service at the bar has been great almost every time. My service with the young, inexperienced waitstaff has been way below average. My family likes the fish tacos. I usually order a burger, but would rather go half way down the street to 5 guys. The best part about this place is that you can look out the windows and see the ocean. If you are here, get aseat where you can see the ocean, start with a mangorita, get an appetizer or two and leave the entrees alone. Then look at the ocean. read more

I requested lump crab meat to be added on the nachos I ordered. Our server returned to admit the manager on duty " had a hissy fit over the request ". BTW - The server we had was let's just say experienced and over the top accommodating to us & our kids. When you are with 3 kids under the age of 9 it can be difficult.
