I came here on two separate nights with two different experiences. I came in on a Saturday night with a group of friends and our service was impeccable. Then I went another night on ladies night around Halloween and it was tragic. If there's one thing I don't like is when there is an ad advertisement for an event and then the event is so ill prepared. I went for the Halloween special with some friends and we ordered around drinks. The drinks came an hour and a half late and when they did arrive, they weren't in the proper glassware. I don't know what it is about Florida restaurants and offering martinis in martini glasses but then serving it in pint glasses is there a shortage of martini glasses here because I do know a company that I can help with provisioning that. I will say outside of the drink service, the food isn't too bad. I had the burrata toast the first night and the second night I had the ghost pizza. I think I enjoyed the first meal that I had when I dined here as opposed to what I had during the Halloween special. There's a Christmas event coming up and I'm interested to see what that will be like. read more

I've waited years to post a review for Mangoni because I genuinely want to support local businesses, especially in downtown Winter Garden. My husband and I have given this place at least five tries, and while I've noticed improvements over time, I've just never been impressed with the food. On our most recent visit, my husband ordered the brisket pizza and I had a Florence focaccia, both were meh. The only reason we keep returning is the cocktails. Mangoni is one of the few places nearby where you can get a craft cocktail, and they do them very well. For that reason, we usually stop in for drinks before heading elsewhere for dinner. I also want to highlight something they've done exceptionally: their social media marketing. It's creative and brings more visitors to the Winter Garden area, which is great for the community. The downside is that it feels like this traffic is being leveraged to justify higher prices. With cocktails running $15-$18, it doesn't make sense for us to spend even more on meals that consistently fall short. Made a reservation for my girlfriend and I Saturday night at 8:45 PM. We parked in a parking garage, so it's pretty easy to find parking here. The downtown area is adorable and I love how open the area is when we walked up to this restaurant. They did a great job decorating for the holiday season and we were very excited to check this place out. I thought this place was a bit overpriced. We shared a pizza and my friend ordered the caprice salad. I had one of their IPAs and she just stuck with a cherry Coke. The surface was extremely slow when we sat down. It happens and he ended up redeeming himself. The food was pretty good and I love the ambience, but I'm not sure I would drive out of my way again to come here. Obviously I did not wait for 2.5 hours. I left and decided to come back a different day. I went today, which was Halloween day. I went around 12:30p. It took around 15 minutes for someone to even come greet me. I was at the point where I was going to leave or say something. My server came up, I ordered everything. A few minutes later, 4 girls sat and my server went up to them within 2 minutes of them sitting. Crazy how different the service was. My drink took another 15 minutes to come out. The worst part about the service is that it wasn't even that busy. I got the ghost pizza and the skull garlic knots. The pizza was okay but 100% not worth $18 or $19. The garlic knots were hard and the marinara sauce was very plain and watery. Also not worth another $17(?). The drink I got was a mocktail graveyard drink. It was good but definitely would have been better as the alcohol version. Would have been another almost $20 for that as well but thankfully they marked the price down for mocktails. It was $12 instead. Very expensive for what it's worth. I ran out of water and never got a refill. My server was nice but obviously not attentive at all. When we walked up my wife noticed immediately that inside was empty no one was sitting down but there was a hostess. This was new to us, every time we have been here, it was open seating. When we walked up, the hostess just stared at us, no greeting at all. We stopped and asked if we could just sit down to which she firmly said no. My wife asked if there was an event since no one was inside. She said they were all reservations that were starting now. She really didn't give us much, we had to go back and forth with her until we could finally be told we could sit on their couches to the right but outside. It was terrible first impression. Once we sat down, it took about 15 minutes for a server to say "We will be right there". As server after server walked by us, we almost left but then our server came over. I will say he apologized and took our order. It took another 15 minutes to get our drinks and we ordered almost everything on their specialty Halloween menu. An additional 25 minutes to get the first food item. When he brought the drinks, he was trying to rush and half the extras for my cocktail fell on the floor. So we didn't get the whole impression of the drink. He said he would bring another one (the tarot card) but he never did. My drink also had a bubble put on top of the drink but again, rushing, only half the drink got the bubble which immediately popped. I don't know who they were, must have been friends of the owner or visit them a lot, but if your servers are drowning, which they were, the manager should step in. Had lunch at another restaurant nearby. Passed this place on the way to my car. I had never seen it before. The people sitting outside looked like they weee really enjoying it. I gave this place a chance as my GF really liked the vibes etc. Well I should've stuck with my gut as the reviews were right with the service being horrible. Reservations for 8:30 on a Friday while everyone was leaving so not busy at all and took 45 mins to get a drink. Food was okay 4/5 on pizza but got the alfresco gnocchi and it was a 2/5 undercooked and super gritty/grainy. My recommendation is to go to AJ's if looking for a pizza and drinks. The food was okay but it was my first and only time, could have just been what I ordered. I ordered the BBQ Chicken pizza and this could also be why I feel the food was ok - I did not fully read all ingredients and did not like the Gorgonzola (Italian Blue Cheese) on the pizza. I truly enjoyed my meal and the service at Mangoni. My friend and I ordered the barbecue chicken pizza and the gnocchi Alfredo to share and both were remarkable. You can add a protein to your pastas - we added chicken and it worked well. We also each ordered one of the seasonal cocktails, and they were delicious. Perfectly crafted! The waiter never asked if we needed anything, never came back to ask how the food was. Then I waved him over to order another dish that we were sharing, then he guaranteed 10 min tops. Twenty five minutes later it arrives, the food was tasteless and we had two drinks and two appetizers! The bill was split and each paid 49.00. Such a disappointment and even the heavy set manager never ever asked how anything was. There is a total lack of support from the manager to the waiters.
