I recommend Mango Grill. Dinner was buffet only, which worked out great: I wouldn't have known where to start otherwise. I tried everything. I had to get the courier to cancel the order or I would have been forced to pay for food I did not receive. Do not order via Uber or any other service. Awful experience tonight. Here's why.. started off fine. We were seated right away, were given our waters to drink. Ordered minutes later. We walked in knowing what we wanted right away. I ordered chicken tikka masala, my fiancé ordered the lamb kabob. We also ordered garlic naan and an appetizer. Waited FOREVER for our appetizer to come out. Then our entrees came out after being there for 45 minutes. My food was correct. Then my fiancé was given the wrong lamb dish. A different waitress than before asked if everything was okay, we said no. My fiancé ordered the lamb kabob but was given some different lamb dish. She goes "oh the lamb kabob we actually don't have. We haven't served that in over 2 years because it takes way too long to make." She then pointed to our waitress from before and goes "she is new and doesn't know what she's talking about half the time" First of all... if this dish hasn't been served in over 2 years and is STILL listed as a menu option, I don't blame her. I blame the staff training her (or lack of) and for the poor communication. They have about 12 tables in their restaurant. You mean to tell me that they can't afford new menus after 2 years?! Or at least some white out, or a sharpie. Anyway. Then the waitress mentioned that they could make him a lamb chop instead. To which we waited for about another 25-30 min for them to make. I was finished eating by the time he received his dinner. FINALLY. Then, after that, we were completely forgotten about. No more refills, no more check ins, I wasn't able to receive a box for another 20 minutes. We were here for over 2 hours. Ridiculous. THEN we receive the check.. the lamb chop (which is like 5 little pieces of lamb with onions... woohoo) cost TWICE as much as the original dish he ordered. Which they could've made in the amount of time that we were there since it "takes so long." We paid the bill, got my card back along with the receipt. No pen to sign. I was completely ignored when I asked for one. The CHEF had to go get me one because the waitresses were too busy just walking around. Not serving food because it wasn't coming out of the kitchen!!! They're lucky I even tipped honestly. Worst customer service on the planet. Will NEVER go back. I'll go to Sitar any day over them. Absolutely dreadful. read more

This is our second visit to this establishment. The first visit went relatively well, food was delicious. It took a while for the food to come out. Our second visit didn't go so well. We got there at around 7 on a Friday evening. Half of the tables were taken, the other half uncleaned. Our server cleaned the table by wiping food items onto the floor. Most of which were kernels of rice. My gf asked the server to clean the area around the table so she doesn't step onto rice. The server became pretty angry, and did not hide her displeasure. She slammed the duster onto the floor. Swept violently. Swept near my gf's feet and said sarcastically" oh wait , there are some over here, I wouldn't want you to step on it". Then she cackles, looking in the direction of the other patrons, looking for approval. We left and will not be going back This is unfortunate because the food is excellent. read more

Ok I read all the reviews and figured I couldn't go wrong taking my family here today. I was wrong! They must of had a really bad day from all the great reviews I read. We arrived at just before 1pm for a buffet that was supposed to be until 2:30. First bad sign was half the food trays were empty. It's not a big place and all the tables were full. So we had to wait about 10 mins to be seated. 2nd bad sign was the waitress was not in any hurry to take care of us once we were seated. There were no clean plates to use for the buffet, we had no silverware or placemats. It took another 10 to 15 mins to get a plate. Finally with plate in hand headed to the buffet. Hardly any rice and still half of the trays were empty. Owner came out and said he ran out of some of the food and wasn't cooking anymore. Meanwhile people were lining up at the door. Many tables were open now but the waitress was taking her time not in any hurry at all to seat them. Not only that the owner told them he only had the food that was left and there was no more coming out. To my amazement 2 or 3 more parties still stayed and ate what was left which wasn't much. 3rd and last bad sign because I won't be coming back. The place was dirty! Behind the cashier were dirty plates piled up all over the place. On the way to the bathroom draped on many chaired where towels drying. The bathroom floor was very dirty like it hadn't been cleaned in days. On a positive note the Naan was good and some of the dishes. All the meat dishes were chicken which was strange. So I mostly had chicken and rice because all the vegetable dishes were gone. Oh did I mention the waitress was terrible. She never picked up one dirty plate. We had to put them on a table of dirty plates that she never picked up. I love Indian food and was hoping for the best but it just wasn't meant to be this time. read more

WOW! My boyfriend and I were searching for a place to eat while driving back home to Maryland and this place popped up on my Happycow app, thank goodness! It was some of the BEST Indian food we had ever eaten. We went there on a Sunday, which happened to be the lunch buffet. The naan, as everyone has mentioned, is absolutely the BEST! We found this true hidden gem on the backside of a strip center while driving north to Maine. The food was superb. Easily the best Indian food we've ever had and that includes NYC. The owner made a point to stop at our table not just to serve but to check on us. Always with a smile. Even something as simple as the Naan was to die for. The first bite was pure heaven....as was our entire meal. Excellent vegan and gluten free options. While the space was small it was colorful and the fantastic food made up for any minor issues.. The owner took the time to explain where the food originated and even brought us a free sample of a desert, simple because it paired well with what we ordered. On other notes, there's some plate variability between visits. For example, the Shrimp Saag we got was nothing like the reviewer pic here (but tasty nonetheless). We ordered the assorted kabob appetizer expecting 3 meats but only got chicken. We also ordered "very mild" and got above-mild spiciness. Previous "mild" takeout orders were better. Mango Grill is the best restaurant to get Indian classics and staples in the area, I'd even venture to say it's better than most places in the city, think Gaithersburg, Bethesda area. I always get the chicken makhani which has a creamy tomato based sauce with all of the spices. To dip their fresh garlic naan in that sauce is one of the most heavenly food experiences I've ever had. Their samosas, onion bhaji, and ragda patties are great appetizers to the meal. Their chicken tikka masala is also the best I've ever had. I've brought so many people to this establishment as first time purveyors of Indian cuisine and they are never disappointed. Best Chicken Makhni I've ever had! I've gotten carryout twice in the last week and I've requested extra spicy both times. The spice level certainly doesn't disappoint. Had several people tell me about this place so I gave it a try. We went on a Saturday night, it was a holiday weekend, just had the buffet at 12.95 to offer. I was a little worried as other Indian buffets are pretty bland on the spices but the food was very good The food was wonderful, fresh and they would even change the offerings on the buffet. First impressions had me nervous as I was greeted wth "someone will be with you" rather than a welcome, but staff was very attentive to our needs. We were in the area to see the Antietam National Battlefield and found this place on Yelp. There was a lunch buffet on Saturday, so we got to try pretty much everything they had. We've tried many great Indian restaurants in the DC area, and this one is on par with the best. Everything we had was extremely tasty and perfectly cooked. Later on they brought Manchurian Chicken (a Chinese dish) and that was also nicely seasoned and delicious. The naan that comes with the food was superb and they had 3 different sauces for dipping. Perfect all around! The service was also perfect -- quick and helpful staff. The manager also took the time to make sure we were doing alright.
