They had an easy online ordering via Toast in order to pick up. It was ready when I arrived and perfectly warm and I took it to my dad for his birthday! He loved it and we were looking for a place to REplace Fratellis, and we found it! Thanks! Beautiful restaurant as well and nice helpful staff.

Called in an order of tortellini because I remember I enjoyed it time ago when we dined here. We haven't returned all this time because the chicken ravioli was so gross it turned both our stomachs to remember it. Incredibly gritty and had hard pieces of something in it that we had to spit out. The ravioli pasta was good, the stuff in it was truly disgusting. Again so bad all this time we've chosen other places to dine because of that one dish and whatever hard things were in it along with that gritty finely grounded chicken. So anyways the rating now is for my experience now. The above is just why it took me so long to try this place again. Service was great! Over the phone so nice and in person welcoming and friendly. Great staff here. Blonde is who helped me. Another dark haired lady even asked if I'd been helped and even with her serving was willing to help if I hadn't yet been helped but I had been helped so no need. Super great two ladies. Thank you both. Just had to wait a short bit for my food and to pay. $30+ for it. I had a bday coupon of $5 and $7 still on my account from all that time ago. Lady stepped in to put those discounts. Wonderful! The bag of my food was so light I looked inside because seemed nothing was in it. But it has my to go food in it so off I went. We live super close and got home, opened it but it was just warm. Not hot. Odd but well I was able to eat it right away. The sauce was oily butter tasting. The cheese on it tasted like plastic and the dish was missing the prosciutto sadly. Inside the pasta and the pasta itself was yummy! Sad the sauce was oily butter, no other flavor but oily. The pasta was smaller than before, still only 5 pieces of pasta, at $30+ for this ouch! Even after my discount $20+ was still not worth it. Bummer. The other time I had this dish it was all so good, the sauce and prosciutto etc. I am not saying we won't ever return, service is great. Looked over reviews, yes it's cramped inside and you are on top of others unless you get the booth, so I recommend the booth. We enjoyed our dine in experience time ago, only the chicken ravioli was gross, the soup was just ok but the rest was great. After today's experience I won't be repeating the tortellini. Maybe calamari and pizza next visit, but pasta portions n flavor lack too much to attempt other dishes. Just my thoughts. Again great staff!

We found Mangia e Bevi on inKind and decided to try it for lunch. The Lunch Specials called out to us, especially the Amatriciana (5/5 $18 Lunch). Although many associate Amatriciana with trattorias and restaurants in Rome, Amatriciana originated in Amatrice, a small town near Rieti in central Italy. The Amatriciana here is authentic ... and I believe the best I've ever eaten. It was a generous portion served in a bowl. The pasta (buccatini) was cooked perfectly al dente, tossed in a rich Amatriciana sauce made with peeled tomatoes, guanciale (cured pork cheek), and chili pepper, toped with Pecorino Romano cheese. We sat outside on the patio, which was delightful on this warm afternoon. Seating inside is a tad tight. Our server, Massimo, was great -- cordial, attentive, and informative. I'm glad we tried Mangia e Bevi today. We have to come back to have their pizza -- what we saw looked terrific.

Update: Returned, this time with s party of 4, anxious to try their Neapolitan style pizza. We've had several memorable pizzas in Naples and we're skeptical that a restaurant here could compete. Bullseye! They did it! Mangia e Bevi's pizze scored a hit with all 4 of us, including my celiac DIL who must eat gluten free. My pistachio pesto pizza with mortadella and arugula was the real deal. It transported me back to Naples with the first bite. We appreciate the special measures they take for those with celiac by cleaning the pizza oven thoroughly to remove any traces of gluten before baking the GF pizza. The GF pasta is cooked in separate water from the regular in order to prevent cross contamination. I sampled her GF Margherita pizza, and found it delicious. A crispy exterior on the crust cradling a soft, pillowy interior contrasted beautifully with the fresh tomato sauce and cheese on the pie. One person went rogue by ordering a pasta with bolognese. Yummy. Mangia e Bevi's is an especially rich, meaty version of the sauce. Quite delicious.

This food is phenomenal. Pasta is the only recreation that matches what we had in Italy. Menu isn't too overwhelming with options, but there's definitely something to fit whatever taste you're craving at the moment. Their specials looked great, but I didn't come hungry enough to try more. Service was very attentive without being overbearing. I think their little bar up front was cute (but very few seats there). Outdoor seating is perfect for sunny coastal days. The thing to be prepared for is the prices. They are definitely higher than some other franchise spots and their portions are smaller. But you're getting more quality food, which I definitely can appreciate. Hopefully I can make it back soon to try their pizza too.

It's a long drive but it's worth it. We came here to try their food based on the reviews. It's a decent size restaurant with patio seating. It was empty when we arrived at 6:30 but it filled up quickly. The service throughout our meal was ok, nothing exceptional. We ordered burrata for appetizer. It was very good and the sauce was tasty (not very acidic which it's how I liked it). I got two orders of toasted baguette to go with it (one down side is that this restaurant doesn't offer complimentary bread, which is rare). We also ordered squid ink linguine with clam (the best one out of all the ones we ordered), lasagna and pasta with bolognese. Overall, we all enjoyed our dishes. Regrettably i didn't get to try tiramisu. Hopefully next time

This is a must-Visit Oceanside Gem! If you are ever in Oceanside, Mangia e Bevi is a cozy, family-owned must-try!Our table loved everything, especially the charred pancetta-wrapped onion, the delicate zucchini blossoms, and the rich paccheri alla Norcina. We finished with some delicious desserts that topped off a perfect evening.Warm hospitality and incredible food--we will definitely be back!

    Burrata salad

So, I have ordered to go food from Here multiple times. At least maybe once every 3 months. Some stuff is really yummy. My issue is that many things come not as described. For example- my $25 burrata tomato salad. Heirloom tomato's. Instead, I had really bad mushy chopped up Roma tomatoes that weren't even edible. I've had many instances of this, ingredients subbed etc. If im paying $19 for 5 broccolini, that's a little excessive.

Still our favorite date night spot in Oceanside. Service is excellent. We sat outside for the first time last Saturday evening and the vibes were excellent. To start, we ordered the bruschette which I highly recommend. My fiance ordered the Fiorentina which was very flavorful. It was slightly overcooked but still full of flavor. I ordered the truffle tortellini which is now a vegetarian option because they removed the guanciale but you can ask to add it back. Overall still our fave spot.

A great locals place for delicious Italian food. Friendly team in a small, comfortable environment.

We return for another relaxing time and the food quality is still just as good! Consistency is checked!

This is a gem of a find! Located in a spot in a shopping area it is a really nice spot. I was on a work trip and the guy that was driving me around brought me here. What a great location. The atmosphere was really nice, the server was outstanding, the decor was elegant and the food was BANGING! Man the pizza here was outstanding!! Tons of selections for toppings, the curst was perfect, and the sauce was a flavor bomb! (What I couldn't finish I took back to the hotel and ate it cold for breakfast!) I'm telling you this is how pizza is supposed to be done! If you have not tried this location don't think about it... do it! You will not be disappointed. I liked it so much I ate here 3 times in the week that I was in town. I'd go back right now if I could! I'm telling you the pizza here was a true masterpiece! And needs to be tried to truly understand just how good it is!

We were seated in a small room off the main dining area, and we were the only ones in the room. Our waiter was friendly, but he was also taking care of tables in the main dining area, so we were often left on our own without anyone checking in on us. It also took quite a while before we were able to place our order. I ordered one of the mushroom pasta dishes, and unfortunately, I found it to be lacking in flavor. Someone else in our party ordered one of the specials, a steak, and that looked absolutely delicious. Overall, I was hoping for a better experience, especially since we were celebrating a birthday. These drivers are always very friendly and polite to me when they drop off my food orders. I highly recommend Maggiano's Italian Classics Restaurant. They have really delicious Italian Food.

The Spaghetti & Meatball w/ Marinara was no better than one you would find at a church potluck dinner. The marinara lacked flavor and was possibly out of a can due to the separation of water and tomato sauce in the corner of the dish. Furthermore, the meatball had a strange consistency. It was like a Chef-Boyardee meatball, so it was clearly not worth the price. The breadsticks were stale as well... How is this possible? Is the bread being stored in paper bags overnight in the refrigerator? This could have been out of the package from Food 4 Less on the discounted stale bread rack. To top it all off, the House Salad was so horrid, with wilted brown lettuce, day old tomatoes, and red onions that were turning white and chalky around the edges. The salad was thrown together in haste and looked like the worst salad that I have ever laid eyes on. If I would have knocked on any random door in the neighborhood, I probably would have gotten a better salad. Unfortunately, the creamy balsamic dressing was the only good thing about the meal, but that probably was not made in-house either.

Our waiter Eduardo gave us expert guidance, especially with the extensive wine selection. My wife and I stopped here for lunch after reading the Yelp reviews. Surpassed our elevated expectations! We started with an exceptional appetizer of fried calamari & veggies. The carrots were sweet, the peppers were perfect and the calamari were delicate & not at all oily. My wife chose the bolognese tagliatelle and loved it, contrasting it with her own bolognese sauce and admittedly finding the Cucina's a cut above her own! I opted for the white ragu of balanzoni which was a refreshingly different take on a traditional ragu. Although we were both stuffed from the abundant courses, I couldn't pass up the semifreddo and I'm glad we didn't. We devoured every bite! Fantastic food, with service to match -- as warm & welcoming as it was expert & knowledgeable. Cannot wait to return when we revisit Carlsbad in January.

Calamari was good, there were exactly 2 shrimp, handles of the serving spoons sitting in the sauce which is a miss of a detail, ultimately seemed under seasoned and there is a pile of food sitting in oil on wood. Parmesan prosciutto pasta was well cooked, fresh cracked black pepper would have been beneficial. Tiramisu was the best dish, the mascarpone crème was definitely my favorite, was a lil sad by the lack of coffe and rum soaked lady fingers. I would give this place one more chance now that I understand the menu a bit more.
