I cannot recommend working with Mandy highly enough. She is thorough, flexible, organized, detail-oriented, responsive, and straight forward. We hired her right as we started to plan our wedding and spent around 16 months working on it, with a few month-long breaks in the middle when we got really busy with our jobs/travel/other things. We were especially pleased with our food vendor who Mandy recommended. * I like that she will tell you what she thinks, but also give you space to make decisions. She is open to many ideas and aesthetics, and really helps you to reach the decision that will make not just a beautiful wedding, but *your* beautiful wedding. * Mandy keeps your budget in mind - we came in $3k under our overall budget exactly, and she will let you know. Generally she gives options in a 'low', 'medium', and 'high' range so you get an actual range of choice. * Her network is extensive. It's quite nice because it means that anything you are considering she already has lots of experience working with the possible vendors, and you can piggy back off her good relations. * She plans work in stages and never lets it get overwhelming. This means you get to trust that she's handling the details (and there are details you would never think about on your own, like the catering flow through the venue) and just work on the homework she's assigned. * She is flexible and rolls with the new ideas/changes in plan, bringing enthusiasm and professionalism to these changes in plan. My year wedding anniversary is coming up and it's taken me this long to review because I've tried to salvage good from an overall stressful day. Mandy did an excellent job of connecting me to vendors that made my wedding gorgeous. It was aesthetically quite beautiful. But the Day Of coordination was bad. It was somehow my job (?) to keep bridal prep running on schedule. This took me out of the moment. But worse, when the bridal party got behind, she was an absolute tyrant. She was rude to me, my friends and my family. You never yell at a bride on her wedding day! Not to mention-- I didn't hire Day Of coordination to be burdened with duties and chores. On top of that, she didn't allow me time to touch up makeup between photos so I hate my weddding pics. Then, there was "no time" to bundle my dress so there are some stains I can't get out. She was unbelievably unprofessional and shockingly disrespectful. Overall, everyone had a nice time except the people who had to deal with her directly. Including me. I've been hoping to get over it but yes, it's still a year later and she made me feel horrible on my wedding day, like somehow I was unworthy of MY own day. My husband and I worked with Mandy Scotts Events to plan our wedding in July 2021, and we would highly recommend her services! Mandy is talented, organized, responsive, easy to work with, and pays special attention to every detail. We started working with Mandy after we got engaged in Fall 2018. One of the best, but also most challenging, parts of planning a wedding in the Bay Area is the infinite amount of vendor choices. Mandy consistently presented us with her top recommendations for vendors that fit our budget and wedding style, based on her many years of experience working in the wedding industry. Through these strong vendor connections, we quickly received proposals, had vendor meetings, and felt confident in the vendor choices we made. Our wedding was originally planned for June 2020, but when the pandemic hit 3-months before, it became obvious that our 200-person indoor wedding would not be able to proceed as planned. Recognizing that this was an emotional time for us, Mandy met with us to review our options (that she prepared). Once we made the decision to push our wedding out by a year, Mandy communicated with all vendors, set a new date, and sent updated communication to all of our guests within 1-week. We loved Mandy, felt we received great deals all around and she was on top of everything from day 1. We did our wedding at the Palace Hotel back in mid April and hired Mandy around August/September back in 2015. I reached out to Mandy Scott because she came highly recommended. We scheduled some time for a chat on the phone. During the call Mandy mentioned how busy her company was but that she would put together a proposal or me and get it to me that weekend. Unfortunately, I never received anything. Not even a follow up call. I was really disappointed. It is stressful enough planning a wedding but I was determined to make the process a great one. It is experiences like this that make the process even more stressful when you are excited to potentially work with a planner and then not get even a follow up. I used Mandy as both my wedding planner and florist. I had a 200 person destination Indian wedding (3 days long) which required a lot of coordination and planning. Overall, absolutely amazing and worth every penny! Now that the wedding is over, I even miss talking to her and still text her about the pictures! She did an excellent job helping me pick all the vendor, setting up and being an active part of all our meetings, working with my large family, and creating my vision. I would highly recommend her to other brides, especially if you need someone who is hands on and very involved but still lets you make all the important decisions. She is reliable, hard working and made wedding planning really enjoyable for my family and me! Mandy's flowers were elegant, beautiful and even prettier than I had imagined. I got so many compliments on her work! The setting for the wedding was even more beautiful that I though it would be and it totally took my breath away! I didn't love the ballroom at the hotel so Mandy helped me find someone who could drape the room the way I wanted. The combination of the drapery and her flowers made the whole room look gorgeous! I was so worried that I would be stressing about the little details and not enjoy the wedding as much as I hoped, but when I got there, I was so relaxed because Mandy was taking care of everything! She had a whole team of people helping us. My entire family, my husband and I all ended up having such a blast and enjoying every moment! After the wedding, we were both so sad it was over and we both agreed it was a perfect wedding! My only complaint: There were a few things that got off schedule on the day of the wedding and we ended up being an hour behind schedule. It was mostly due to transportation at the hotel, the DJ showing up late for the baraat and a family member getting an ankle injury. Mandy did a good job of trying to keep things on time. Honestly, I don't know if there are any weddings without a minor glitch. Despite that, we ended up having a blast and the guests barely noticed or cared about the schedule! She's not just the glue that holds everything together, she is the savior pulling out last minute solutions to unforeseen events... like our DJ quitting 7 days before our wedding! For a few weeks, I attempted to do our wedding planning and those two weeks I became frustrated, nervous. So I selected Mandy to help us with our wedding. Mandy was always available to us. She always responded to our requests promptly and was wonderful co-ordinating the various vendors. Her recommendations for the band and videographer were spot on. The flowers for the wedding were spectacular and I still have people asking me who did your flowers! Given that we wanted to get married 7 months after we had gotten engaged - and having relatively busy jobs - we decided that we would invest in the services of a wedding planner. We spoke to about 10 different planners, and selected Mandy because of her (i) deep experience with full service planning, (ii) positive references from others who had worked with her, and (iii) flexibility - she had the desire and ability to make anything work (something we found to be true!), unlike other planners who wanted to charge per additional unforeseen task (eg RSVP collection, etc). We also were attracted to her "it'll be grand" easy-going style. Seeing we had already chosen a venue, the first phase of us working with Mandy was to construct a budget together and start to get availability for the bigger wedding components (photos, etc). We were impressed with Mandy's understanding of the price ranges for each component, as well as her black book of people she had worked with. Put simply, once we'd established an approximate budget for each component, and agreed on how much we cared about it, she was quickly able to assemble a host of vendors for each who were (i) available, (ii) of high quality that she could personally vouch for, and (iii) within the price range. She did a really good job of making sure our efforts were only required when fully necessary (eg looking at the vendors' website, interviewing them, making the decision) - even the negotiation and payments she made seamless for us, reminding of us of upcoming bills and paying for us wherever possible. Mandy sequenced the researching/finding of each vendor by creating a calendar of when things had to be locked down, and then drove the process according to this calendar. On the day of, Mandy and her team of assistants took care of everything, so that we only had to focus on getting dressed and enjoying the day with our family and friends. Mandy and her team met all the vendors at the church/venue, picked up items that needed to be picked up, and arranged everything to be put in the right place. We were really impressed with how she made all the little touches come together - printed schedule and "get to know you bingo" cards that we had made, making the food truck area really special, arranging photos we'd selected into nice decorations and feature pieces, all in a cohesive manner, and at a surprisingly low cost. Bottom line - we are so grateful we got a planner and feel very fortunate to have worked with Mandy. It meant that the limited time we had to work on our wedding could be spent on the most important things (decision making, nice little touches) rather than the necessary-but-time-heavy tasks (vendor selection, negotiation, management, coordination, etc). Our wedding was just this past June at Boundary Oak Clubhouse in Walnut Creek, CA and it was just awesome! Our wedding coordinator, Lisa Tomasi, was soooo wonderful throughout the whole process. We hired her for the month package before our wedding because we realized that there were tons and tons of details to worry about. We didn't want to stress ourselves out on they day of our wedding.
