Neon Sign

Mandrake is a cool spot to check out. There's a cute phone by the front bar for the perfect insta picture. There's also a stripper pole next to it. The cute neon sign is where everyone eats. The performers are entertaining and full of energy. The music was good and the food was better. I had edamame and sushi. The presentation of the sushi was A1 in a cute boat.

Heard nothing but great things so wanted to give it a try for my Anniversary dinner. walking in the place is really nice and within the theme but extremely dark inside. We sat down for 30 minutes until our server greeted us which turned out to be the hostess. She was really nice and did apologize for the wait, she had amazing recommendations. Heads up your voice will be done for from how loud the music it, but it's does come with a show. I started off with the Sake to Me which is a lychee drink and it was delicious, so I had to get another one lol. We ordered the Mandrake roll as an appetizer but came after we finished our dinner. The roll was wasn't I expected but it was extremely overrated, can definitely can get better at Blue ginger. I loved the skirt steak, it was cooked BEAUTIFULLY. You can see from the picture! The bill wasn't too bad but 22% tip is automatically included which is crazy. They don't have valet parking but a nearby parking garage which is two blocks away.

Ambiance, service and experience is great. The food is not so much. Lots of sauces cover up the flavor profile of the dishes.

They recently reopened after covid. Made reservations online, greeted at the front desk. First impression, BEAUTIFUL LAYOUT. Sexy and intimate vibe. My rating for the food Appetizer 3/5 Sushi 3/5 Cocktails 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Service 4/5 We came during the week so there wasn't a crowd. They are known for the lounge and hookah on the weekends. They also have private events and special guests. I hope they do well moving so forth! It's a beautiful spot. Will come back during the weekend!

Our receipt with the fake "New Years" fee

This place is an absolute scam. We went here yesterday evening for NYE 2023 and prepaid $1000 for 5 people. The prepaid package stated that it included all taxes, service charges, and fees. We ordered a total of 8 cocktails, but were charged an outrageous $448.02 at the end of the night. This included a fake fee of $186 that was simply listed as "New Years" (we literally witnessed our waiter input this into the POS separately). He thought he could take advantage of my mother, who is a foreigner and could not understand the BS terms he spewed out. Mandrake is not an honest business. At the end of the day, it is the establishment's fault for not teaching their staff to treat customers with integrity. Whilst it may seem glamorous in the photos, this is a shady business that will try to take advantage of their guests. Do not even consider going here.

I enjoyed the restaurant a lot! We decided on it last minute and the staff was very accommodating. We def got there after the shows but the DJ was great - beautiful people, our waiter and food runners were sweet too. The bar is busy and some drinks took a while but the food is phenomenal. We had the strip steak, shrimp fried rice and both were some of the best dishes i've had in a long time. Mandrake is def worth the visit!

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT EVER!!!! It's decorations, food, and drinks were out of this world. The service was good. We went for my boyfriends birthday and the staff came singing with signs and sparklers which made it even more fun. The drinks were strong but mixed very well and the food was perfectly cooked (raw and cooked at the perfect temperature). The entertainment was fun to watch and honestly I was super surprised and not at all expected to enjoy it as much as I did. I recommend! There's also a bathroom attendant which I thought was a nice touch to the organization aspect of it. Music was fun and they also have hookah for those interested at an additional charge.

Overpriced, rude staff, extremely long waits but a fun ambiance with picture worthy decor. We had a fairly large group with a 10:30 pm reservation, however we weren't seated until 11:45 pm. We tried to order right away but the last meal did not arrive to the table until after 1 am. Probably a tactic to spend money at the bar. Several meat meals were not cooked to the desired temperature as discussed when ordered and staff tried to contest the complaints. Food was very average, not worth the wait or money.

Does Mandrake offer happy hour?

your best bet is to call because it depends which day you go

How long of a dinner experience is this? Would it be more than 2 hours for a birthday dinner for 2 people?

You can certainly be in, seated, & finished in a 2 hour window. Let your server know upon seating if you've a commitment after dinner and they will coordinate all your courses to finish at your desired time.

Is it good for a birthday? Is there any music? That type of vibe?

This is definitely a great location to celebrate a birthday. The decor is simply beautiful, the menu inclusive of all types of eclectic tastes, and there is music playing from the lounge upstairs that can be heard throughout the dining room. I… Read more

The setting in Bal Harbour is beautiful, very polished but still relaxed. It's definitely the kind of place you go for a nice dinner where you want things to feel a little elevated without being stuffy. Service was solid overall--attentive and professional, though at times it felt a bit rushed, like they were trying to keep the pace moving more than letting you fully enjoy the experience. Food-wise, there's a lot to love. The sushi was fresh and well-executed, and some dishes really stood out with great flavor and presentation. That said, a couple of items felt a bit underwhelming compared to the price point--good, but not quite memorable. Portions also lean on the smaller side, so it can add up quickly. All in all, it's a great spot with a cool vibe and very good food. Not flawless, but definitely worth going--especially if you're in the area and want a stylish dinner with consistently good quality.

The Happī Hour menu stands out as one of the best values in the area. I had 2 Classic Mojitos, Shrimp Cocktail, Lumpia Shanghai Roll, Pinoy BBQ Skewers and Kurobuta Corn Dogs from the Happī Hour menu. From the full menu, I had Salmon Tiradito, and the Chocolate Smores Cake a La Mode for dessert. Standouts for me were the Salmon Tiradito which had a beautiful presentation. It comes plated like a work of art with gooseberry, fresno chili, annatto oil, mustard oil, sea salt, white nikirisoy aioli. Wish I had taken a photo. This is the only place I ever order corn dogs (and I ALWAYS order them here) which are made with a Japanese sausage and come with a special spicy mustard that gives it an interesting, gourmet kick. Don't go heavy on the mustard if you're sensitive to spice. Hot! I am told the Chocolate Smores Cake a La Mode is inspired by the owner's son, and it is magnificently-plated and delicious. This is not the campfire version of S'mores. This is the haute cuisine version. You cannot beat Sushi Bichi on quality of food and experience for the price, especially during the Happī Hour which runs 4-6:30pm. You can walk onto the beach after your meal, if you'd like. It's right there. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Parking tip: there is a large public lot on Collins Avenue around the corner that I've always found a spot in. Short walk to Sushi Bichi.

Matcha tres leches was a stunner. Mochi came with 4 flavors, banana, passion fruit, mango, and birthday cakes. Best was birthday cake and banana. Ralph was our server. Great presence. Down to earth. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance and location created the perfect atmosphere for a special evening. The food truly exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend the Miso Black Cod -- it was phenomenal and had the same rich, buttery texture as Chilean sea bass. Absolutely delicious. The Wagyu Burger was also outstanding -- freshly ground, high quality, and cooked perfectly. We also tried one of their sushi rolls topped with miso and filled with fresh tuna and salmon, and it was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. You can really taste the quality in every bite. Our server (I didn't catch her name -- an Asian woman, possibly in her 40s) was wonderful and made our experience even more enjoyable with her attentive and warm service. We truly loved this place and are already looking forward to coming back, especially to explore more of their sushi menu. Highly recommend!
