We paid about $125 per person (patio seats for better viewing of the tuna cutting ceremony) and every dollar was worth it. Doors open right at 7 and I would highly recommend getting there as soon as doors open. We purchased cocktails (about $20 each) and about 30ish to 45mins after the salmon and tuna appetizers were being passed around. The fish was fresh and I loved being able to see how many ways tuna could be prepared. The servers came around so often to offer different plates that it got to a point where I had to say "no thank you" lol. Then to top the night off, they served mochi !! It was awesome to see the master chefs slice and dice a whole 140 lb fish into perfect cuts of sushi, sashimi and hand rolls. It really was an exquisite indulgence of an experience. I had the pleasure of attending a tuna cutting ceremony hosted by SORA in Wynwood. My husband, a couple of friends and I prepaid a $125 fee to see this spectacle live and have unlimited amounts of fresh tuna! I loved it and thought it was a unique experience. Prior to the event starting, they allowed you to see the tuna up close and take photos whilst getting served a few apps. I didn't know those were included, so it was a nice surprise. When you book online, there's an indoor vs outdoor price. I believe $95 to sit inside. Same unlimited serving but you don't get the views of the cutting itself, which imo is kind of what you wanna see. Whatever your preference - it's endless sushi, sashimi, nigiri, hand rolls galore! We learned that if there's a particular cut you want, they'll gladly serve you that but you just have to ask for it. Our server, Gloriana, was really great and provided us with whatever we wanted. I attended a blue fin tuna cutting ceremony at Sora. Advertisement on Instagram was all you can eat blue fin tuna. I messaged them kn instagram... is this going to be just akami or are o toro and chu toro included as I would not attend if only akami. They responded o toro, chu toro, and akami would be served all you can eat for about 2 hours. I got 2 pieces of o toro and 1.5 pieces of chu toro. Bottom line. Not worth it and I feel disappointed. The staff was nice enough considering I kept letting them know that I hadn't received any o toro or chu toro. I doubt I will go back here read more

Omg! This has to be Miami's best kept secret. The food here was to die for, truly an experience. The Steak skewers were so juicy and tender I had to order another. These servers are very attentive and knew exactly what to recommend. The only thing I felt could have been better was having the sushi a bit cold, the taste was great but maybe it's me. I'm not a fan of room temperature sushi. Other than that everything else was amazing from the drinks to the dessert. Came here for their 17 course omakase and it was so delicious! The restaurant has a really cool nightclub vibe. We came a little early and it was slightly awkward at first, even after we were seated we didn't see any staff for a while and it almost felt like we were there before opening. Once we got our drinks and the sushi chef came out, however, we got rolling quickly. The first course, miso soup, had peas and carrots in it and we were really worried at first, but once we started on the nigiri we realized we had nothing to worry about. My husband said there was a little too much sauce on some of the nigiri which i agree with, but a lot of the nigiris were also delicious and I loved the toppings. The salmon with truffle especially was so good. By the end, I was hoping we were done because I was so full! We even got an extra of our favorite piece which was so nice. I told the chef I did not like unagi from the start and he graciously gave me something else. 4.5 out of 5 We went to Sora for one of their tuna cutting event. Wow, the 140 pound tuna was impressive! The vibe was fun, the fish was fresh! We got to eat unlimited tuna, and it was a lot! They also served salmon appetizers. One thing that would've made the tasting even better would be if there were a little more diversity. You basically get sashimi, tuna seared, hand roll, and a roll. So maybe other sauces for dipping could be fun, rolls with avocado, rolls with cucumber, maybe some shiso leaves. Just something different that keeps the tuna tasting exciting because after a while, the same 4 dishes just tasted the same. So would I come back? Likely with visitors from out of town so they can experience it! Would I go again without visitors? Likely not unless they added a little more variety. Overall, a fun novel experience for tuna lovers! read more

The restaurant is super cute and the wait staff was very friendly and helpful. They are very attentive and kind. The food however, i paid $160 for two hand rolls and to try the wagyu on the hot stone and neither were anything to rave about. The hand rolls were fine but felt like the fish was drowned out in sauce. I was barely able to taste the fish at all. I got the $55 wagyu 2 oz on the hot stone and the meat was honestly not that tender. it was sort of chewy and i thought i was eating a flank steak. read more

Though there were a few kinks in the sense that it was still a new event, the event itself was fantastic, and I am sure they have been able to perfect this event. The only thing I did not like was you did not have a seat, so really hope they fixed this. This was some of the best tuna I have ever had! The chef was so kind, and for $125/pp for unlimited tuna, I thought it was a great event! The restaurant itself is very small, so it would be worth going back to see if the event is now not oversold, because, again--such a fun and great event! We recently attended the tuna cutting event at SORA. Overall, it was a decent night, but the setup definitely left room for improvement. Not all seating is outdoors where the actual cutting takes place. Some tables are indoors in a separate room, where a TV streams the cutting but without sound. Instead, they play loud music, so you can't hear any of the chef's explanations unless you go stand outside. Because of that, indoor seating misses a big part of the experience. With the hot and humid weather, we actually preferred sitting indoors, but it meant we didn't get the full experience unless we walked outside. It would make much more sense to host the entire event in one space (ideally indoors) so that everyone can enjoy it comfortably and equally. Even something as simple as adding speakers inside would be a big improvement. On the positive side, the staff did bring the tuna head and fish tail around for photos, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening, but the layout and setup kept it from being as special as it could be. With a few changes, this could easily be a 5-star experience. read more

We went to the tuna cutting ceremony which is ALL OVER my IG feed. From the minute we walked up something was off. There was no explanation to how the event worked. The host handed me a hot plastic cup of champagne and led us outside to the patio area where we waited for an hour flagging down servers trying to order. They had two types of passed apps. Salmón hand rolls which were ok, really nothing special and a hamachi crudo served on a RITZ cracker of all things. I had to walk to the bar to order my drinks because the server forget and never came back to check on us. When I asked what time the event was going to start they responded with idk were behind today. Several people didn't get seated since they over sold the event. The tuna was sitting out for at least 3 hours before the ceremony even started and from food safety stand point is kind of a nightmare. It honestly felt like I was living in an episode of kitchen nightmares. The concept is cool but they need some serious work, maybe dial back on the marketing and focus on training staff. We did get a little gift bag which was nice. read more
