I love the fact that you can sit on the floor but getting up and down can be challenging so we opted for a table. The food was served quickly and very tasty and authentic. Overall a nice place to try in Westwood if you're craving Indian
Came here with our friends. I have been to a Yemeni restaurant however my first time here. We had a lot of food, I enjoyed it. However it was heavy for sure! I would go again but maybe get less food as it was already too much. The tea was good We sat on the floor just like the Yemeni style and it was comfortable
The vibes in here are amazing! Even at 10 PM the restaurant is crowded and filled with people enjoying food :) THE FOOD IS AMAZING! Look at the picture of the bread. IT WAS $2.99!!!! You literally can't even walk outside in Westwood without paying 2.99 and here you are getting a HUGE delicious fresh bread for 2.99. The food is amazing and HUGE ( the Lamb Mandi fed the two of use for 2 meals). Also btw the hummus comes with the tanoor bread so no need to order another one. PRICES: Lamb Mandi- $32 Karak Tea - $4 Tanoor bread - $2.99 Hummus - $9 Anyways love this place super goated please check them out
We came here after going to the Santa Monica beach. This place was opened later, so we were able to come and chill for a bit. We sat down and waited a long time to be greeted. We weren't given water at all then found out we had to buy bottled water. The water was from Kirkland. Pretty sure those are a quarter a bottle and they charged 2 dollars a bottle. We finally met our waiter. We ordered Sambosa cheese and meat. We also ordered a side of fries and babagenoush. The fries were bland. The babagenoush was good. The sambosas were very good. We then ordered the mandi chicken for 3. There was a ton of rice and 4 half chickens. That was very good. The bread that came with was good as well. Overall, I would have given it a 5 however, the service lacked and the bottle water was tacky.

Entering through the back door, I was immediately struck by the spacious floor seating, perfect for sharing a relaxed, communal meal with family and friends. The portions are generous and easily enough for a group, and the restaurant does not hold back on the meat. Lamb is clearly the highlight here. The grilled version stands out with its rich flavor, and the meat falls off the bone effortlessly. The smaller pieces are especially flavorful, while the larger cuts can be a bit on the dry side. That said, the rice mixed with raisins and nuts adds a nice balance and helps round out the dish. One downside is that there is no free water, which can add up given the portion sizes. Not a deal breaker, but something to keep in mind. Overall, definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a hearty and authentic Yemeni meal.
first time trying yemeni food and mandi house did not disappoint! if you're new to yemeni cuisine, this is a great place to start. the quarter lamb mandi was so tender and flavorful, and the giant fresh bread paired perfectly with the juicy beef. i also loved the sweet cardamom milk tea. don't skip the masoob fatta for dessert. it's warm, creamy, sweet, and made with bananas, bread, honey, and nuts. such a comforting way to end the meal. great portions, delicious food, and friendly service. i'll definitely be back!
Good Yemeni food for a leisurely & long meal. Big place with seating for tables with chairs or low tables with low sofas where you can remove your shoes. They even have a prayer room on the side. We didn't have to wait for a table. The menu options are decently extensive. We shared the fattoush salad which was a generous size for a small and had fresh lettuce, cucumbers & tomatoes with a light dressing and lemons to squeeze fresh juice over the salad which was topped with nicely fried squares of flatbread. We also enjoyed the Hrada of Seltah mixed with Fahsah, which was tender lean lamb in chunks & shredded, cooked with fenugreek in a traditional stone pot, served with a big Yemeni flatbread and side tomato sauce & yogurt sauce. It was delicious. Just know that we waited a hour for this dish. Not sure what happened because everyone else around us ordered and finished their food, including people who arrived after us. We did inquired about our food after waiting a hour for it. We never got any explanation or apology other than it was being made. Huh. They only serve water in bottles so don't expect tap water. Overall the meal was fine. Because we waited so long for our food, we were here over 1.5 hours so this is definitely not a quick meal type of place.
My 1st time having Yemeni food. I ordered the Hrada Seltah. Their food is served in generous family style portions. The bread and hummus were fresh and delicious! I was able to try several dishes because I was with friends. My favorite dish was the Hrada of Seltah Vegetables, vegetarian hot pot. The veggies were flavorful and tender. I will return whenever I'm in the area!
Come HUNGRY! The most tender lamb and chicken paired with fluffy, seasoned rice. We love coming here & can't wait to continue bringing more friends back. Also the banana bread dessert with honey (forgot the name) was the perfect amount of sweetness after our dinner. THE BEST!

This was my first time trying Yemeni food the spot was recommended by a friend. Staff was friendly upon arrival, the restaurant is very large with beautiful decor. The food I ordered was amazing very filling for the price. I would definitely come back here to try other popular dishes. I recommend trying the Karak Tea to end off your meal.
TL;DR - get the lalamb haneeth and the mutabbal. You won't regret it and you can thank me later. Karak tea is great. Mandi chicken was already special. Nice spice profiles! This place is an absolute gem!! Everything we had was wonderful. It was like an uncontrolled flavor explosion in my mouth. The karak tea is sweet and with a spice flavor profile that reminds me of Chai. They give you a stick of rock sugar to mix into it Lalamb haneeth. If you like lamb then get this!!! Omg fall off the bone tenderness! Comes with long grain rice and other things but the lamb is the center spotlight here. Id very this every time Mandi chicken with salad. I disnt think chicken cooked in this fashion could be flavorful with many species and be tender and juicy at the same time. The salad was a nice touch but the chicken was absolutely amazing Mutabbal is a smaoked eggplant dip. Comes with its own bread and omg this was just as amazing as the lalamb haneeth but in its own way. So much flavor and depth to it. Id also very this every single time I visit!! Service was alright. Ambiance was chill. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I came here on a Tuesday night with a group of 8 people. We made reservations for 6:45pm in advance and we sat on the floor with cushion seating - very fun experience. Parking in the area is SUPER difficult! It took us 20 minutes to find parking, so definitely get there early to park if you are going in the evening. I had the Lamb Mandi as my entree - this definitely could've been split between 2 people but instead I chose to give myself leftovers. They gave us a yogurt-based white sauce on the side and it paired deliciously with my dish! The lamb was unbelievably tender, literally fell off the bone. The rice was perfectly flavored as well. I had scoops of my lamb and rice and put it on top of pieces of the Tanoor bread - DELICIOUS! We had 4 HUGE pieces of bread and that was enough for our entire group of 8 people. I really enjoyed the mint lemonade juice, it was very refreshing. It was my first time having Karak Tea and I was pleasantly surprised! There was sugar at the table but we figured out that the you actually use the sugar candy stick to stir the tea in your cup and it acts as the perfect sweeter AND treat! It was so so good. The pot of Karak Tea was also plenty for the entire table to have a few cups. For two Lamb Mandi dishes and 2 beverages, my husband and I's portion was a little over $80 (not including the tip) and we both have LOTS of leftovers. This was a really cool dining experience and I would definitely come with a group again (it really is GREAT for large groups!) read more

Yemeni cuisine seems to be catered around groups, and as a solo diner, while service was good and the couch-ish seating was comfortable, the meal didn't quite work for me. The vibe inside, despite the limitations of the space they have, is actually pretty good once you've gotten seated and taken a minute to get your bearings. Had the madhbi (grilled lamb), which was a very generous and delicious portion of rice, fried onions, and sliced almonds; however what was grilled lamb shank atop it was quite ordinary. Instead of being the highlight, I was pretty underwhelmed. Again I suspect that going as a solo diner was missing much of the experience; unfortunately I've been putting off going here since forever, trying to get a group together, and in the end decided I was better off just going by myself instead of trying to get friends together to come. read more

Great place for yemeni food. The portions are massive good food overall. We ordered the 5 person haneed with lamb and Mandi chicken and also the hrada with shrimpna. Both items were so delicious. The shrimp was cooked so well and it was the favorite dish of the group. The 5 person dish with a fully tender bone in lamb, lamb item and Mandi chicken was so delicious. It came with pilaf that includes raisins and tons for fried garlic and onions. Overall the food was really good. The Arabic coffee was also very good with large hints of cardamom. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the items we ordered and answered any questions we had. There is a sit-down without shoes section which adds to the experience. The only downside is they only give you water bottles when you request water. read more
My goodness, what a spot. First, portions are HUGE. We ordered the grilled lamb, hummus, and a salad (Idr which one) but the portion size was big enough to feed 3-4 people. And this is coming from two people who know how to put away a large amount of food. Sat down immediately (though we did come on in on a holiday) and service was quick and friendly. They have those buttons that they use at Korean barbecue places at each table to call your server if needed. It seems like it would be a great place to host a large party because of the ample seating and the big portions. I highly recommend coming with a group because the portions are so big that you're only able to get a couple things, if you don't. The grilled lamb was cooked perfectly. Everything tasted so good together. The most memorable part was the milk tea, be sure to use the sweetener provided and it will truly elevate the drink. Will definitely be returning in the near future to try other dishes. read more

This was the third time I've visited this restaurant, and I've been so impressed by their consistency in quality and flavor of food! Absolutely love the ambience of the place and the service by all the staff. It's such a fulfilling experience to eat here, will certainly come here again. I brought my mom here for her birthday and we had an absolutely great time. It was very nice to be in an Arab setting and feeling almost at home. I requested to play music and they were very happy to put something on for us and the staff was very attentive very welcoming. I absolutely love my experience there. the food we ordered can honestly serve five or even six people. We had left over enough for two more meals. The food was absolutely delicious the lamb Mandi was our favorite. We also ordered some karak chai and it tasted very creamy and very warming. If it's your birthday I'd definitely recommend letting the staff know they put on a very special Egyptian song to celebrate you. This place is an absolute gem read more

Been wanting to try this place for ages and was not disappointed at all. The flavors were so amazing and tasted like authentic Yemeni/middle eastern food. The portions are quite big so splitting things definitely makes this place affordable for the food quality. The restaurant has a sit down (floor) or table service which was really cool to see the traditional style in LA. It was busy but the servers were still attentive. read more

Took my mom to Mandi House for Mother's Day and honestly... this was a huge win. My mom is extremely picky about food, service, freshness, atmosphere -- everything and even SHE loved it. That alone says a lot. The lamb mandi was unbelievably tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The rice had so much depth without feeling heavy, and the fried onions, raisins, almonds, and fresh lemon on top made every bite better. The fresh bread came out hot and soft, and the hummus was creamy and perfectly seasoned. Even the chicken was juicy and packed with flavor. What really made it special was how comforting and authentic everything felt. The portions were generous, the food came out fresh, and the whole table was quiet for a minute because everyone was too busy eating. That's how you know it's good. My mom kept saying "this is actually really good" which coming from her is basically a Michelin star review. Definitely one of the best Mother's Day dinners we've had. Overall a very good spot. 4.0 stars. What's been great: Atmosphere is welcoming, especially for huge families. Even their menu is targeted towards big groups of 4-6-12 people, which makes it perfect to visit with a big group, celebrate a birthday, etc. Speaking of the birthday - they do bring out a bday cake, dim the lights and sing a happy birthday song with the whole restaurant which makes it even more special. Food portions were massive. We ordered a 92$ mix of meat that was considered for 3 people and we took 3 more to go boxes after all of us got full! Very generous servings. Taste pf the food is also great - chicken was melting in the mouth, as well as beef and lamb. Not too over-fried or under-fried, just perfect. Came out steaming out of the kitchen (on video is the second try - sorry guys). Free lollipops available whether you want to treat a child, or yourself, or both - there is no limit to that. We also bought some black tea which came with a piece of mint and my gf got Ayran. - came in the bottle and they didn't offer a cup for it :( The desert was ok according to my gf who lived in the Middle East for several years and tasted an actual Kunafa. Service was a little disappointing for such a great place. I had to ask them to take our order as it took them very long to approach us, also they didn't take our plates away after we asked them to bring the to go boxes, even though they were empty. AND it was a slow Sunday night, with only like 10 tables total. Not much enjoyable interaction - maybe it's a culture thing as I've never been to a Middle Eastern place but this is America - so they have to step up a little bit to match their actual rating. Pricing is very good. I paid 135$ including a tip for 3 people. Included 3 drinks, 1 desert, 1 humus with bread, and a main entree. read more
We had many many great experiences eating at Anaheim House of Mandi and was thinking to have great experience eating at Mandi House LA. First off, noone greeted us, everyone seemed do not want to deal with us despite seeing us. So I decided to start convo with lady staff asking if we can sit by sunken table which rudely refused and asked us to sit on the regular table instead. So we sit and noone gives us the menu, till I have to go to cashier counter to grab one menu. Then the time we order, we called one of the guy (who seen cleaning the table multiple times), so he grabbed the ordering machine and seemed confused entering the menu, like seriously, if he wasn't able to take order why not asking someone to do it. Another hiccup happened when they only served us the grilled chicken, in fact we ordered the chicken w/ rice. We complained on this and the guy who served took the chicken right away and served the right order BUT the rice was hard, cold and there was no raisins at all! We asked for raisins and they asked 'you want EXTRA raisins'. How come he mentioned it extra when there is no existing raisins at all? We asked for gloves to numerous people and ended up one person gave us. I couldn't count how many flaws on first time experience! Delicious and fun atmosphere trying Yemeni food. There's seats available to sit on a cushion on the floor or a half booth. I ordered the hrada fish and hummus and they gave me a lot of pita bread to go with it. Service was great and I liked how they provide water in water bottles. I was really excited to try this place, and it was my first time having Yemeni food. We ordered takeout, but unfortunately the chicken and lamb were extremely dry. As I tried to break the chicken apart, the bones crumbled into the rice, which made it difficult to eat. The rice itself had great flavor, but for the price, I expected higher quality and juicier meat. Sadly, it was not a great experience for me. read more

We came here a few weeks ago and I completely forgot to write this review, but this was actually my second time at Mandi House--and just like the first time, it was amazing. We were a large group, so we ordered both the Lamb Mandi and the Chicken Mandi. Both were fall-off-the-bone tender and flavored to perfection, served with fluffy, aromatic rice. The bread is fresh-baked, warm, and absolutely delicious--especially paired with their hummus. Definitely try the Shafoot; it was incredibly tasty. The Fattoush is my favorite salad here--fresh, crisp, and perfectly balanced. For drinks, the Yemeni tea is delicious, but don't leave without trying the Karak tea--it's hands down the best you'll try. Also, get the Ayran yogurt drink; you won't regret it. The restaurant has a beautiful design and a very welcoming, friendly staff, which makes the experience even better. Highly recommend Mandi House--we'll definitely be back again! read more
