We had a wonderful experience, The staff deserves a huge shout-out, they were incredibly friendly, attentive, and hardworking, and they made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The pani puri was hands down one of our favorite dishes: fresh, crispy, and full of flavor. The nihari was also excellent: rich, aromatic, and perfectly cooked. We also enjoyed the chicken biryani, which was flavorful and served beautifully in a clay pot. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere, We'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu. Highly recommend if you're craving authentic Pakistani/Indian cuisine!

The best food ever, best drinks and friendly staff. The dessert was so great too. We tried rose cake.

Day 2 of opening at the Santa Monica region. It was quite busy and lively and the servers were very warm and welcoming. We started with the chicken tandoori (10/10), which was easily one of the best dishes of the evening. It was incredibly flavorful, perfectly marinated, and juicy enough that it didn't even need any chutney to enhance it. For the mains, we tried the shrimp curry, which was pleasantly mild and surprisingly light. Unlike many coconut-based curries that can feel heavy, this one was well balanced and comforting. We were hoping to order the Dal Bukhara, but since they were out, we went with the yellow dal instead--and honestly, it did not disappoint. Rich, flavorful, and satisfying, it earned a solid 9/10. The only dish that missed the mark for us was the Brussels sprouts (6/10). While the flavor was decent, they felt a bit too dry compared to the rest of the meal. And then came the true star of the show: the rasmalai cake (10/10). Milky, spongy, creamy, and absolutely delicious. It perfectly captured the flavors of traditional rasmalai while adding a unique cake texture. Without a doubt, it's a must-try and worth saving room for dessert. Overall, a fantastic meal with standout flavors and an unforgettable dessert. We'll definitely be back to try more items in the new menu and definitely for that rasmalai

This was a great meal. All the dishes were really delicious and well portioned. The biriyani is a must order, it was a little spicy and very flavorful. The dessert we ordered was a recommendation of our server and was incredible. It was almost like tres leches but had a creamy topping and an incredible peach syrup over the top. Our server was very attentive and gave good recommendations. The inside and outside areas were both nice but the outside was under-decorated. The menu had an errors with allergen labels but we addressed it with them and they said they were going to fix it. It's good to have another great south asian spot in Santa Monica and I can't wait to be back and try more dishes.

Great new place. Simple, cute space. The menu is a nice size. No alcohol is served but they have an extensive list of mocktails and other non-alcoholic drinks. Loved the dumpling appetizer, the salmon curry and Brussels sprouts. The biryani was too spicy for me but the waiter warned me it was spicy so I'm still giving it 5 stars. The cake we got for dessert was also really lovely and a great way to end the meal. Service was very good. They are clearly excited to be open. I'm excited to return and try more dishes.

Yama the manager gave us incredible service. Ali is an exceptional server and spent time talking about the restaurant and top picks. Recommend the peshawari chicken karahi and the sloppy khan. Delicious meal and incredible vibes

    Tiger Shrimp Curry and Naan

Wow! Incredibly flavorful. The best Pakistani, Indian, Afghan food I have tried in Los Angeles. The Tiger Shrimp Curry is fantastic. A yellow curry with exotic spices, served in a metal pot. The Peshawari Karahi comes in a hot pan. I tried it with lamb. Blown away. The warm spicy Tomato Sauce perfectly complements the lean beef. Both are perfect to share. Coming back soon

Went for the first time tonight at the request of an out of town guest who has spent a lot of time in India and Bangladesh. The food was superb. The spinach paneer probably the best I've ever eaten. Super chutney. Unusual traditional dishes like a Pani Puri which are like chick pea bubbles with a spicy liquid in a shot glass. Try the mocktails too. The pineapple jalapeño taijin drink was a revelation. Really can't recommend it more highly.

    Peshawari Chicken Karahi

Great food, flavor, service, and ambiance. I'm desi and can say the food is properly spiced and tastes authentic. Very good presentation and would recommend!

    Is there dedicated parking?

No, there are the SM public lots or street parking.

Is this the same location and owners as Tumbi Restaurant?

Sorry, but I don't know. I never went to Tumbi.

What surprised me was the prices but more on that later. The menu is streamlined and the choices are few. What HiHo does offer is simple done correctly. The Waygu beef is fresh and they do not over season the burger. They let the natural goodness of a quality beef patty do all the talking. There is plenty of flavor but the burger is not overly greasy. The buns are made in house, as well as the pickles and they both deliver. I love a burger with shredded lettuce. The French fries are prepared fresh and cooked to perfection for my taste. I like my fries slightly crispy and a little dark. They showed up well done and almost too hot to eat. I tried their in house sauce called "Matty Sauce" and still don't know how to feel about it. It was explained to me as their version of thousand island but there was an after taste to the sauce I still can't describe. I decided I didn't care for the sauce but never stopped dipping my fries in it. So in the end, I guess I ended up liking it? I feel you will either really like it, or really dislike it. I tried both the chocolate and vanilla shakes and preferred the vanilla. The shakes are made with house made ice cream and serve their purpose. I liked the fact they have a dispenser just for water and ice. Overall I say drop what you are doing and go get a HiHo Double. The most amazing thing about this burger is its simplicity and freshness. Two things that are often overlooked and/or not well done. If you want bells and whistles go elsewhere. If you want a really, really fresh and well made burger at In N Out prices, HiHo delivers.

Where do I begin?…read more This was my last day in the beautiful land of California, and before heading out to catch my flight back to the South, I was craving Mediterranean food. I've been on a bit of a Mediterranean kick lately, thank you Cava for that. First impressions? The environment was beautiful. Seriously photo worthy. As a photographer, I couldn't help but admire the architecture inside and around the area. It had that visual vibe that made me excited to be there. There was no line when we walked in, so I quickly landed on my order: the Crimson Chicken Wrap (white meat) with a side of babaganoush, and the Chicken Shawarma (dark meat) with a side of fries. Everything sounded solid. But then... we waited. And waited. Over 30 minutes passed. In that time, about 3 to 4 other customers came in, placed their orders, got their food, and left. Meanwhile, we were still waiting on two of their more popular items. I tried to be patient, gave them the benefit of the doubt, until I saw someone who arrived 25 minutes after us get their Chicken Shawarma within 10 minutes of walking in. Given that we were on a time crunch with other places to be, the delay was beyond frustrating. We ended up speaking with the manager and shared our concerns, but by that point, the experience was already soured. Now for the food. I wanted to like it. The first bite had promise, but after that, it just felt like I was eating out of obligation. For the price point, the service delays, and the lackluster flavor, I honestly can't recommend the entrées I tried. The coffee? It seemed to be good, but not enough to bring me back just for that. I wish I could give Crimson a stronger review, especially because the space itself is stunning. But in the end, it was a case of style over substance. I'd give it a 2.5 out of 5, though I did walk away with some great photos, at least.

The inside is cute and has lots of seating. We were a party of six, and the staff was very accommodating, arranging tables for our group. We love trying halal restaurants, and this place did not disappoint. We ordered the Mega Feast, which is listed for 4-6 people. Honestly, it was way more than enough food for six people! Luckily, that meant lots of leftovers for the next few days. The feast came with beef and onion sambusa, chicken, cheese roll, beef kebab, chicken and beef shawarma, baba ganoush, hummus, fattoush salad, rice, fresh pita, garlic sauce, and tzatziki sauce. Everything was genuinely delicious. The meat was flavorful, juicy, and cooked perfectly. You can build your own shawarma wraps with the pita, hummus, and toppings, or enjoy everything over rice like a shawarma plate. Either way, it was amazing.
