Dinner menu p1 June 2026

Outstanding and different elevated modern Indian cuisine. We've been meaning to try this place for a while and just hadn't gotten around to it. Now that we have tried it, we'll be back again soon! You know how sometimes all the dishes at an Indian restaurant start tasting the same? That is most definitely not the case here. Every dish had a unique flavor profile, and some were quite different from anything I'd had before. Purple potato ragda patty: This was by far my favorite - it was practically a work of art. Sweet, sour, savory, tangy, salty. So good, like a party in my mouth. Calangute calamari: Had a nice crisp exterior. The accompaniments, especially the passion fruit salsa, were incredible. Truffle mushroom kulcha: If you like mushrooms, you should definitely get this beautiful puffed bread. Asado branzino fillet: Slightly spicy and salty, more filling than you might expect Butter chicken: A well done Indian standard Pheni nest: A delightful, sweet but not too sweet dessert. Loved the contrast of textures They have a charming outdoor patio, and service was helpful and attentive.

I was excited to try Fitoor. I went for the $45 DineLA Lunch (which was a great deal). I started with the papad sampler, where you get three different kinds of papadam along with three different sauces. (For anybody who listens to the OFF MENU podcast, it was fun to get to try their beloved papadam!). Anyways, the different papadum roughly tasted the same but they did each have their own unique texture. With regards to the sauces, I was expecting, like, three different chutneys or raitas. Instead, you get one mint chutney but then two more Western-y sauces: a mustard aioli and a red pepper chutney. The chutney was very good. I am not so sure that the mustard aioli works so well with the papadum. And the red pepper coulis was fine. Next I got the Andhra Chili Chicken which was kind of like pieces of breaded/fried chicken from Panda Express but coated in a spicier Indian-style sauce. It came out totally hot and fresh and was tasty. I will say, because it had been coated in sauce, the breading lost any crispiness but the flavor was good. Spicy but nothing too crazy. Next I had my main course: Madurai Mutton Sukka which was pieces of seemingly braised lamb in a green curry-type sauce (at first I thought it was coconut milk-based but then I decided it wasn't). The lamb was super tender and the sauce was all very good. There were also some pickled onions on there as well. Overall a tasty dish. I think it was supposed to come with a paratha but one didn't seem to come with my dish. I also got a butter naan which was... fine. It wasn't salted at all so I had to ask for some salt to put on it. Overall, a good meal. I'm not sure the more "fusion-y" things (like the mustard aioli) really contributed much--I would have preferred to have something zesty and spicier. But, overall tasty and it's a pretty place.

Sorry not sorry I really wanted to like this place but honestly this place is a bit overhyped. The ambiance is beautiful, great décor, trendy vibe, and a nice Santa Monica atmosphere so it's definitely a pleasant place to sit and enjoy a meal. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. The samosa chaat was probably one of the worst I've had. It lacked balance and flavor, and nothing about it felt fresh or authentic. The paneer tikka was also pretty underwhelming and bland, you really needed the chutney to give it any kind of taste. Even the naan was just okay, nothing special for a restaurant at this price point. Service was decent but not memorable. The staff was polite, yet things felt a little slow and not very attentive, especially considering the restaurant wasn't that busy when we went on a Sunday. Overall, Fitoor is a nice spot if you're going mainly for the vibe or drinks, but for the food alone, I wouldn't rush back. I was hoping for bold, flavorful Indian dishes, and it just didn't deliver. Pretty bummed because I came here for my bday dinner with one of my friends and we both had a letdown.

Fitoor truly lives up to its name. From the moment you walk in, the upscale décor sets the mood, and the menu delivers just as strongly. Each dish is packed with depth, bold spices, and beautiful presentation without losing authenticity. Portions are satisfying, cocktails are creative, and the overall experience feels refined yet comforting. Definitely one of the standout Indian restaurants in Santa Monica. Amazing experience!!

Worth the Hype? Fitoor, Santa Monica Short answer: Yes -- if you love modern Indian food with vibes. Fitoor isn't your everyday Indian restaurant -- it's elevated, stylish, and meant for nights when you want great food and an atmosphere. The Food Bold, well-layered flavors Creative twists without losing the soul of Indian cuisine Standouts across appetizers, mains, and dessert The biryani actually nails the meat-to-rice ratio (rare win ) What We Loved Most * Dahi Kachori on crispy okra -- chaotic but delicious * Sweet chilli broccoli -- don't skip this * Butter chicken & cheese kulcha -- indulgent and unforgettable * Lamb shank -- tender, flavour-packed, 10/10 * Paan ice cream -- refreshing and unique The staff provided some excellent recommendations!!! The Vibe Lively, trendy, celebration-ready Perfect for date nights, anniversaries & special occasions

This is the best "fancy" Indian restaurant in LA. The cocktails and mocktails are amazing. Plating is creative and appealing. My favorite dishes are the Dahi Kachori, Truffle Mushroom Kulcha, and the chicken Biryani. The best dessert is the chocolate nemesis and I love the jaggery ice cream. The rest of the desserts are way too sweet and not as good as their traditional versions. The restaurant interior is designed beautifully and great for a romantic date or groups. The service is kind of meh and they are stingy with extra chutney and will charge you, but the food here makes up for it. I've been here 3 times!

Lamb Shank Rogan Josh

Came on a Wednesday night without reservations. The restaurant was packed but they did have seats in their outdoor heated patio. Lamb Shank Rogan Josh - The lamb fell off the bone and was tender. The sauce had great flavor but was really oily. Pulled Butter Chicken Kulcha - Overall this was good but the bread was too oily. I also thought the flavor would be more pronounced but the butter chicken was super mild. Even a little salt would've helped. Sweet Chili Broccoli - The best item we got. The broccoli was drenched in a sweet chili sauce that you forgot you were eating broccoli. We were looking for a fresh veg - which this was not - but still really enjoyed this dish. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful going through the menu. He checked in on us serval times. Not sure if I'd come back. The food was just on the edge of being great but kept falling short

Ambience is nice, service is slow. Appetizers are good. Don't waste your money on the burrata chat. Main entrees are not good. They over charge you, always check your bill carefully. They get the quality of waters/ beverages wrong. Also while paying the waiters Input their own tip amount as if no one would notice.

Gulab Jamun Creme Brulee

Loved the ambiance with live music & service. Our server was great & everything was fast. Loved everything we had ordered. We got paneer lababdar, roti, corn bites & gulab jamun crème brûlée which was literally the best thing I've ever eaten. Drinks were meh but Definitely will come back for other items.

Cordelia

This was a nice fancy place to come out to dinner for elevated Indian food. I ordered the Cordelia drink that was nice and refreshing. We ordered family style so we got to try everything. Portion sizes were a bit on the small side. So make sure you order enough. The curry leaf prawns, coastal flame scallops and eggplant kulcha was very good! The pulled butter chicken kulcha & Kerala beef pepper fry were decent. The favorites were probably the lamb shank Rogan Josh & the alleppey prawn & curry fish. It was all very fragrant, flavorful and delicious. The ambience of the restaurant feels like a cocktail bar with upscale food. This would be a neat place to visit just for a drink by the bar. This restaurant also accommodates pets as I had a dog there in the outdoor patio. The staff was very attentive and nice.

Traditional Chicken Seekh Masala

I loved my dining experience at Fitoor! We went walking on Oceanside near Santa Monica and were looking for a place to get lunch, and Fitoor popped up on the list! The ambiance of this place was great and probably one of the nicest of Indian Restaurants that I have been to in Los Angeles and they had both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a brunch special and also you can choose from their main menu as well. We started with the Dahi Kachuri and wow, this was such a fun take on a classic Indian snack dish. I was so impressed by their foam yogurt presentation and the Kachuri also tasted great! We also got the tofu tosadas ~ the tofu was made really well and I loved all of the garnished and the presentation. For our main meal, we had the Jackfruit Chestnut Korma and the Traditional Chicken Sheekh Masala with Garlic Naan. The presentation of the Jackfruit was so fun where they come and poor the curry in front of you and I loved the flavor of the chicken. Overall, I thought they did an outstanding job on creating a modern take on Indian dishes with their own twist and I enjoyed my meal here!

Kasundi Paneer Tikka

I came here with friends on a Thursday evening, and we had made reservations ahead of time. Parking is mostly street or meters, but there is also a parking structure nearby for about $26. The restaurant is beautiful inside !Elegant, classy, and decorated with lovely green accents. There's also a gorgeous outdoor seating area with twinkling lights. We were seated quickly, and the staff was friendly, patient, and helpful with menu questions and recommendations. I'm Indian and love Indian food, so I was excited to try a place that puts a creative twist on traditional dishes. We were very hungry, so we ordered a lot! Guava Masala Spritz- super fruity guava flavor with seltzer, and the masala rim was a fun touch. Dahi Kachori-So good !!Crunchy, spicy, tangy. The foam didn't add much, but the flavors were amazing. THIS made me miss India and eating fresh kachoris there everyday. 10/10, Must order. Palak Patta & Okra Chaat-This dish is a full experience. The server brings a cart and builds it in front of you with sauces, spinach pakora, okra, and liquid nitrogen yogurt. The flavors were incredible, crunchy, tangy, spicy, and sweet all at once. 11/10. Butter Chicken Kulcha-The kulcha was puffy and delicious, but the butter chicken filling didn't have strong flavor for me. 4/10. Kasundi Paneer Tikka-These were seared squares of paneer topped with chutney. The inside was plain and the outside flavor didn't carry through. It reminded me of a soft mozzarella stick without crunch. I would skip this. 2/10. ~Large Plates~ Lamb Shank Rogan Josh-Amazing!!!reminded me of nihari. The meat was incredibly soft and fell right off the bone. 8/10 Allepey Prawn & Fish Curry-I don't usually choose fish curries, but I wanted to try something new so we went for it. We were not disappointed. The fish and prawn were soft, and the curry had a coconut‑tangy flavor that reminded me a little of Thai curry. 7/10. We ordered butter naan and garlic butter naan to go with both curries Cassata Kulfi -Heart‑shaped and layered with rose and saffron flavors, topped with vermicelli. All the flavors together were delicious . It reminded me a bit of falooda. 9/10. Gulab Jamun Crème Brûlée-Creamy, milky, and delicious. The gulab jamun added the perfect chewy, rose‑flavored bite. 9/10. Royal Paan Tea Tea without milk, with a strong paan flavor. Great for digestion. I'm not a big tea person, but tea lovers would enjoy it. Kashmiri Nargis Tea Also without milk, floral and pleasant. I highly recommend visiting Fitoor if you want a fun and flavorful food experience that hits every taste bud. It was great coming with a group of four because we got to try so many dishes, and I suggest doing the same if you can. The prices match the quality of the food, the creativity, and the excellent service.

Took my very picky eater Indian friend here for her birthday, and hallelujah, she loved it! We asked for a table with an ocean view and got to soak in some sun and reflection of the waves in the distance. Service does need some improvement but the food made up for it. The dishes look gorgeous. Lots of thought and details in presentation. Food was delicious! Very flavorful and unique; rich layers of flavors but not heavy. The restaurant is beautiful. Pricey? A bit. But it's Santa Monica and we felt it was totally worth it. I'm going back. Hopefully soon. Want to try more of the menu.

Where is parking.?

Meter parking in front of the restaurant

Is there parking?

They have valet parking Fri, Sat, and Sunday, I believe. On other days, you'll have to find street parking, $2.50 per hour. There is a nearby parking lot, but is quite expensive.

Most of the bars are dive bars in downtown Santa Monica, and parking is quite accessible for this place. So I'd recommend for that reason. In terms of the drinks, I'm a huge fan of cocktail but I would say their menu selections are a bit limited. Nothing in the signature cocktail looks interesting to me, so I had the bartender make a classic cocktail instead. He's very attentive and friendly, didn't take forever to get a drink either, no attitude. Drinks aren't watered down either. Nice! You come here to grab quick drinks when you don't feel like being at a loud dive bar in the area, it's in a hotel but not too upscale, no strict dress code. Music is not loud and they have couches and booth if bar table if not your thing, you don't have to yell or pretend you hear everything to hold a conversation here (lol). ** Keep in mind 20% gratuity is automatically included in bill, it's my first time here. But I think I've other spots I'd prefer to be in, even at Santa Monica. Wouldn't be self-motivated to come back because there are better places that specialises mixology, and there are also better upscale hotel bars to be at. But if you're around the area it's a great intimate bar for date night that's not overly pricey. Wouldn't travel all the way to here just for this (if you know what I mean).

The bar has plenty to enjoy, including a pool table, fireplaces, and various games. The bartenders are organized and efficient. Service, ambiance (and view) and drinks we as nice as one would expect from a place like this. We were the only table who did not get chips with their drinks. Why "only" four out of five stars? Because of the chips? C'mon, gimme a break. Of course not. Without question this is a very upscale hotel. I try to avoid to combine this with upscale expectations - how could you rate this say against a $100-a-night-motel. The motel will always fall short. So in my rating world, when I go, the place as automatically three stars. If it had not, I would not go. Depending on the experience, regardless of the status of the place, I give it more, or ... less. The place is and was really nice and I highly recommend it. By pure definition, it sure deserves five stars. A five star hotel with five star service and five star prices. Now, having lived in the world of the rich-beauty-famous for most of my life, that alone does not impress me too much. If the five star hotel would fall short - and I have seen this, my individual experience may lead to two stars or less, and sadly, it happened. In this case, we loved it and would go again. BUT: to achieve five stars in my rating scheme, I need to be willing to make a 30+ min detour just to go to this particular place. And while ambiance, view & stuff was nice, it was not nice/ special/ outstanding enough to earn its five points. And after Shutters, I went to a place that was clearly worth five stars. We got all excited. It was a normal room. The "very nice upgrade" just meant that we were on floor 5. I barely call that an upgrade but ok. - we asked for a crib, and we go a nice crib with a cute little baby soap kit from noodle and boo- very nice touch. And baby robes for the kids- my toddler loved it. My toddler was on a rollaway bed and they were super accommodating about it- great experience on that front. - balconies are tiny and I never saw anyone out when I sat out - pool staff was super nice. It was a chilly weekend and the pool could have been warmer (I couldn't get in, but I really don't like cold water). - the beach chairs are also very nice and we were surprised to find them available - they were extremely pleasant about our friends visiting us every day! - the lobby waiter during the day was almost inexistant. We had to go to the bar to ask for drinks. The woman at night was great. Now for the food...: - coast has a great breakfast, the lemon ricotta pancakes are excellent (though stupid expensive for pancakes) - pico is a good spot for shrimp cocktail and calamari. Hasn't seen shrimps that big in a long time. - overall the food was good everywhere but way overpriced.... The kids menu are ridiculous... hard to justify spending $28 on kids pancakes. That being said, the portions were the same as adult portions... maybe make the portions smaller, and price more accessible? Overall we had a great stay, and while on the expensive side, we agreed we would come back. Nicely done!
