I had the pleasure of trying their curry mussels. I was suggested this place and those mussels by luke, I was then served by Manny who suggested I pair them with the rosemary Naan. Very incredible quality and flavor. While I am bummed my go to Italian spot Piccolo is gone this is a great new addition to Abbot Kinney.

I went here with 2 friends for an early weekday dinner at 530. We made a reservation online a few weeks prior. We were seated inside right at our reservation time. We ordered the chili cheese naan, mushrooms, eggplant dish, chicken tikka poutine, short rib and coconut curry mussels. My favorite of them all were the chicken tikka poutine (partly because I love poutine), the naan and the mussels. I thought the short rib was average and probably can get better somewhere else. The mushroom was really tasty and the eggplant was good but not what I expected based on the description. All our dishes together was about $200 including tax and tip. Would definitely want to come again to try some of the other dishes. It's located right on Abbott Kinney, found street parking though can be tough during certain times.

Such a fun vibe here! The ambiance is dark and moody, the music is a little loud but not impossible to hear conversation. This was our first time here and we got the fried fish bites which had an amazing gluten free chickpea batter that was seasoned incredibly and served with a paprika aioli and mango chutney. We then got butter chicken and the yellow lentils. The yellow lentils were fine, but when compared the complexity and flavor of the butter chicken it didn't really stand a chance. The butter chicken was incredible, I could probably drink the sauce it was so good. Yellow Lentils are a very neutral flavor and almost had more of a simple soup vibe, we'll probably try something else instead next time. Wait staff was friendly and didn't feel overbearing. Can't wait to come back!

I think this is the best Badmaash experience I've had so far. Food was super flavorful and service was great, even though it took a while to get seated. The butter chicken samosa, butter chicken (double butter chicken because why not), and naan all hit the spot. But the chicken tikka poutine remains my favorite! Also, what a great location!

Loved the pure Venice-cool vibe--think hip-hop soundtracks, a flashy orange marquee, and high energy buzz throughout the room (probably in part because of how hard it is to nab a rez). Some of our favorites were their crispy yogurt puri cup starter (MUST GET!), their signature Chicken Tikka Poutine, the lamb neck korma, and the oyster mushroom laal. Thought the chicken tikka, black lentil daal, and the mussels fell a little flat...they all could have used a bit more seasoning/spice. Save room for the chai chocolate pot du creme for dessert...SOOO good! Fia was our server and she CRUSHED IT! So good with recommendations and checking in.

I love Badmaash! First time at the Venice location, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The vibe is completely different from the Fairfax one, but in the best way. We genuinely enjoyed every single item we ordered. My favorite was the steak frites -- luckily, we got the last order! It was incredibly juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The cocktails were also amazing: super refreshing and perfect for a summer vibe. And the service deserves a special mention. Unfortunately, I don't remember our server's name, but he went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible. Can't wait to come back again and again!

At Badmaash Venice, the vibe and aromas pull you in before the first plate even lands. You walk in expecting a cool Venice dinner spot and leave realizing this place is operating on an entirely different frequency. The menu is fearless in the most intentional way possible. Traditional Indian dishes sit next to steak frites, masala fries, marrow curry, and a crispy okra & potato situation that deserves its own homage. Somehow none of it feels random. Every dish feels like it belongs exactly where it is. This isn't precious, overly polished Indian food made to play safe for the neighborhood crowd. The flavors are loud, rich, spicy, smoky and deeply satisfying. The butter chicken tastes like comfort with better instincts. The chutney actually has heat. Even the naan arrives like it knows it's part of the experience. And then there's the energy. Great music, low lighting, cocktails flowing, tables leaning into conversations a little longer than planned. It feels cool without begging you to notice. The kind of place where dinner accidentally becomes the whole night. The result is a restaurant with swagger, soul, and the rare ability to remind you why dining out, at its best, can still feel transportive.

Honestly, this might've actually been the worst Indian food I've ever had. Pretty much everything was under-seasoned and mediocre at best. I've heard such good things so this was so disappointing:,) The chicken tikka tasted like tomato soup and was sweet?? The goat kebab was soooo tiny!! I was shocked when it came out, it looked like something off the childrens menu. It had good flavor for the kebab itself but the sauce it came in did nothing to enhance it, The short rib was SOO tender, it was perfectly cooked. But there was no flavor at all, just tasted like meat lol. Also warning - they don't let you ajust spice level and it comes with negative spice. Also every dish was borderline room temperature, not hot at all. Overall would not recommend and it's very $$ for the amount of food you get. Service was good and vibes in there were sooo perfect for a date night!

Dined at Badmaash on Abbot Kinney last night. Everything was excellent from the service to the food to the ambiance. We ordered the butter chicken samosa, chicken tikka, the short rib, rice, and garlic naan. All were excellent and flavorful we cleaned the plates. Our server Christopher also went above and beyond. He let us sample a few wines before choosing a bottle and was very attentive. Super fun to chat to as well.

My new top 5 best in LA @badmaashla in Venice!! The yogurt puffs are a culinary experience themselves. From the chili cheese naan, butter chicken samosa, coconut curry mussels (my fave), chicken tikka masala, okra and more this is the best Indian food I've ever had!

Now that we have tried it, we'll be back again soon! You know how sometimes all the dishes at an Indian restaurant start tasting the same? That is most definitely not the case here. Every dish had a unique flavor profile, and some were quite different from anything I'd had before. Purple potato ragda patty: This was by far my favorite - it was practically a work of art. Sweet, sour, savory, tangy, salty. So good, like a party in my mouth. Calangute calamari: Had a nice crisp exterior. The accompaniments, especially the passion fruit salsa, were incredible. Truffle mushroom kulcha: If you like mushrooms, you should definitely get this beautiful puffed bread. Asado branzino fillet: Slightly spicy and salty, more filling than you might expect Butter chicken: A well done Indian standard Pheni nest: A delightful, sweet but not too sweet dessert. Loved the contrast of textures They have a charming outdoor patio, and service was helpful and attentive.

The place was moderately busy; but, there appeared to be only 2 servers and a busboy taking care of the entire main dining room and the patio. They seemed pretty stressed. The noise level was higher than I expected. It was due to several families appeared to have run into each other and they were all standing around having loud conversations while being oblivious to other guests' personal space. As far as the food, the menu looked enticing offering upscale dishes with ingredients like truffle. Good concept; unfortunately the execution was a fail. The truffle mushroom kulcha had no truffle flavor; not even the 2 slices of truffle on top. The crust was quite tough; so much so that it was difficult to cut even with a steak knife. My jaw was sore after chewing on the crust for a while. The calamari was also quite tough and chewy. The purple potato ragda patty was the only dish I thought was decent. The black truffle jhinga biryani special was also completely void of truffle flavor and a bit overly salty. Then when the check came it had a "Surcharge Fee" of 3.5% without any explanation. It turned out to be a fee to help pay for the kitchen staff. This hit one of my pet peeves. Why is it not the restaurant's responsibility to pay their staff a fair wage? We are already paying for the meal and a 20% tip and they just sneaked in a mandatory "surcharge". While it was just a few dollars it was more of an issue of principles. Why not just be honest and have the guts to raise the prices of the dishes if they can't afford to pay the staff a fair wage?

He made the experience even more welcoming! FOOD: The food is absolutely delish. The chicken curry? Perfect. Just make sure to get a level of spice you can handle as my friend ordered some and didn't lol. The garlic Naan (my favorite) was excellent ! perfect balance of crisp and fluff. But I have to rave about 2 things, the vegetable dish and the history! 2 FAV THINGS: -I didn't order the vegetable dish but I WISH I had. It's like this wonderful looking stew. It looks packed with flavor and...curry? We also learned how long the restaurant has been in the area for. My memory blows, but I think he said 1990. -I love that it's very much a family business from what I was told. Not everyone eats at the restaurant they own. However, apparently the owner here does along with his fam. I'm just very into community and family so that's always nice to hear. AMBIANCE: The restaurant is small and cozy with what seems like traditional music playing :-). The guys in the kitchen also seem very polite as I went past them to use the bathroom. Which was spotless :-). Only suggestion & question: 1.)I can't recall if they have a changing table? And as a new mother I look out for that all the time hehe. Also, I'm not sure about parking. I take a ride-share when I'm there. They are on a hill and might have parking in the back? 2.)I have never been there to see if/when they do a buffet, but the menu is awesome. Something for everyone. If you are in the area and want some delicious authentic Indian food that's a part of the community, this is for you. And if your not sure about ingredients, just ask :-). Enjoy!

The smell and flavors have never appealed to me, but I decided to come out of my comfort zone and try something different. Plus for some reason everyone is all about the butter chicken right now and I've been wanting to try it. So I ordered Uber eats from here since its close and popular. I think Im converted. I played it safe and ordered butter chicken, chicken Tikka masala and garlic naan. It was all amazing! Again I don't have anything to compare it to cause I don't generally eat it but It was delicious to me. I did expect some level of spice/heat which would have been nice but there was none, but again Im not familiar with the dish. My only gripe is I paid about $40 before Uber charges and expected the naan to be included or at least RICE. Nothing, I paid $6 extra for 2 little pieces of naan, not nearly enough to finish the meal and felt a little ripped off. I would like to go back in person and maybe get a combo or special or something not available on the app to see if I get more for my money.

We actually went for ice cream afterwards to congratulate ourselves on getting through it. Jasmine has a lovely shaded patio. You place your order at the counter with a guy who's really nice. There are only two menus and the images are faded and extremely hard to read. The best dishes (but still not great) Potato samosas - nothing special Keema paratha - This bread, filled with ground chicken, was fine but not my kind of thing. Plain naan - unusual in that it was flakier than usual. Pan Thay Kwak Swe - thick wheat noodles with chicken drumsticks. This wasn't really anything special. Avoid Tea Leaf Salad. I've had lots of tea leaf salads but never any that I didn't want to eat any more of. The flavor was too pickled. It was also spicier than usual. (I don't mind spice but didn't love the flavor.) Pae Late (J's Special). This dish consists of thin lentil fried dough in broth with chicken. Unfortunately the dough was totally soggy which ruined this dish. I didn't like the flavor of the broth either. No one wanted more of this dish, nor did anyone want to take it home. It would be much better if the fried stuff was served on the side for the customer to add like when I have samosa soup.
