Great service and great food all tucked away in a place that feels intimate and private and casual at the same time. Loved the indoor outdoor courtyard and everything we ordered tasted amazing. The devil chicken comes with a habenero vinegar that packs a punch and goes so well. Unique beers available as well. You won't be disappointed coming here

Goddamn. This place is amazing. Brought girlfriend here on a valentine's date. Staff was extremely friendly, and waitress was very good. Ambiance was even better. Extremely cute, green, and well decorated. Price was extremely reasonable- spent around $230 (including tip) for all the below + a drink. Let's get into the food. Appetizers: Pork Dumplings - 8/10 (GF rating 8/10) These were great. The inside was solid, outside was acceptable, and crunch on top was great. The sauce absolutely made it. Quite a good choice. Curry Puffs - 9.5/10 (GF rating 10/10) Delicious. You won't regret getting these. Pastry outside is amazing, inside is even better, tamarind makes it EVEN better. Just keeps getting better. Get them. Chicken Larb - 9/10 (GF rating 7.5/10) Very tasty. The sauce it's in is amazing and the flavor profile is just great. Highly recommend. Crispy Pork Belly Salad - 8/10 (GF rating 9/10) Also very good. The flavors all fit together extremely well. I'm not a fan of pork belly but this was done great. Main: Beef short rib - 10/10 (GF rating 10/10) Holy shit. We were so full at this point, it was unfortunate we couldn't finish this, because it was so good. Most tender beef I have ever had. I went at it with a fork, expecting to have a tiny bit of give, but it just fell off the bone, effortlessly. Easier than gliding through softened butter. I also normally don't like fatty pieces due to the texture/chewiness, and was worried I wouldn't like this dish as short rib is quite fatty. I absolutely LOVED the fat on this. It was impeccably rendered. Genuinely the best beef short rib I have ever had. The sauce and cilantro + peanuts it was paired with was a perfect flavor combination as well. Came with a delicious bread as well (naan-esque?) Dessert: Underwhelming, unfortunately. Got all 3. Thai Tea Pudding - 6/10 (GF rating 2/10) Pudding underneath was decent. Boba on top with the sauce was not. Boba not marinated in honey, just chewy bland boba! The custard itself was also not very reminiscent of Thai tea. Vanilla Soft Serve Sundae - 6/10 (GF rating- 5/10) Vanilla ice cream itself was very good. The salted caramel, not particularly, nor the Milo brownie on top of it, and the peanuts didn't pair well with it either. Very mid. Strawberry Basil Shaved Ice - 2/10 (GF rating 7.8/10) GF LOVED THIS. Of all the desserts here, she thought this was the best. I just didn't like this one a single bit. The shaved ice on top was fine but it was a very thin layer and was more about what was underneath (passionfruit pieces, tapioca-like balls, and coconut), which just wasn't it for me.

It's no wonder this place is on the Michelin guide. The staff is super well trained /attentive / helpful and the dishes are incredible. Only piece of data to note is that it's very lively:) So just be prepared to use your outdoor voice :) ordered short ribs, curry puffs, papaya salad ice cream Sunday butter chicken....you can't go wrong here. This was one of the best meals I've had this year. So glad I found it. Thank you Cobi's!

Cute vibe inside! Had a reservation right when it opened at 5pm. Butter chicken, roti, and nasi goreng is yummy! Beef rendang is a little oily for me. Dumplings are expensive for what you get, not amazing flavor on those tbh. Service is friendly and quick, especially to fill water!! Metered parking outside

I've dined here twice in a very short time frame - it's that good. Non-negotiable for me are the curry puffs ($14 for 2pcs). They're puffed pastries filled with curried split peas & potatoes served with a pickled onion tamarind ketchup. Absolute fire. The pastry puff is so buttery and fluffy and the curried split pea + potato filling is so satisfyingly filling. Also on that list are grilled prawns ($21 for 3 pcs). They are marinated in a ginger & yellow bean sauce that really enhances the sweetness of the prawns. The best part is probably the head, but of course that's not for everyone. Delish. We've dabbled all over and tried a ton of their entrees, but I keep going back to the beef rendang ($28). The beef is so tender and flavorful. Even without a ton of sauce, it's so good over the bed of rice. Highly recommend. You should also order the chili & sambal sampler ($7). It's such a good compliment to any of the dishes you happen to order. They're also fun eaten on a prawn chip as well. The patio gives secret garden which is so cute. They also do offer tasting situation so it's a great way to sample their menu - I've never met a dish I didn't love at Cobi's.

Cobi's is a beautiful restaurant with pan-Asian cuisine that definitely lives up to the hype. Upon walking in, it felt like I was entering into a secret fairy garden turned upscale, trendy restaurant. The decor is charming, feminine, and whimsical. I arrived a couple minutes earlier than my reservation time and was seated right away. Our server was friendly, gave an explanation of the menu, and checked in consistently to make sure we were taken care of. To start I had the papaya salad and the pork dumplings. I loved the papaya salad as it was tangy, spicy, and lightly sweet. The pork dumplings were standard dumplings that were elevated with the texture of crispy shallots on top. I got the African curry with roti as my main dish, which was insanely rich. I enjoyed the roasted peanut flavor combined with the African spices. However, I did struggle to even eat half of the curry due to its decadence. The roti was buttery, flakey, and a great pairing with the curry. I tried a bite of my friend's beef rendang and it was tender and packed with flavor. For drinks, I had the lychee blossom and the sour cherry fizz. Both were creative and delicious cocktails.

I finally made it to Cobi's, and it's every bit as delicious and aesthetic as people say! The Service: I was really impressed by how attentive the staff was. Despite being a popular spot, the service was seamless and the food came out incredibly quick without feeling rushed. The Food: We started with the Kampachi, and that coconut drizzle is so good and fresh. The Pork Dumplings were another highlight; the crispy onions add such a satisfying texture. For the mains, the Beef Rendang is a must-order. It's marinated in sambal and is the ultimate comfort food when paired with the curry dip and a side of buttery roti. However, the too bite of the entire evening was definitely the Beef Short Ribs. They literally fell off the bone--you don't even need a knife! The sweet chili and tamarind dressing is perfectly balanced. We also loved the Nasi Goreng, which was packed with flavor. The Dessert: My husband, who usually doesn't even like dessert, loved the Thai Tea Pudding. While the pudding itself was delicious and full of flavor, the boba left a little to be desired for me personally.

My partner and I came by with our dog on Sunday for this outdoor brunch. The little Patio is very cute and quiet. We didn't have reservation so it took about 20 mins for us to get seated. The menu is fairly small which I like. I'm always a big fan of non traditional brunch food. We shared the fried chicken, rice noodle and the roti wraps. All were good except just somewhat too salty for my taste. Overall we enjoyed the food and would love to come back to try their dinner menu.

After three of my coworkers raved to me about Cobi's, I was finally in the Santa Monica area (actually just doing Pilates right next door), and I decided to pique my interest and confirm if the hype was real. Despite not having a reservation on a busy weekend lunch, the host was able to promptly seat me (a solo diner) in the outdoor garden area, which was beautifully decorated with flowers and bird-themed motifs. My server was honestly amazing - providing genuinely kind, attentive service and thoughtful recommendations that were well-tailored to my personal tastes. I ended up ordering a lavender flavored take on the pina colada, which I reminded me of my favorite Salt and Straw honey lavender ice cream, and was well-balanced while being strong. The shrimp char kway teow was also incredible - the fresh rice noodles were perfectly stir-fried so that they were still soft while being very flavorful, and came with quite a generous amount of large prawns. It's hard to find a spot that serves up incredibly curated, authentic South Asian food while having standout service and beautiful dining spaces in West LA, and I'm definitely adding this spot to my list of favorite Santa Monica restaurants and heading back soon to try more of their dinner menu!

Cobi's is such a gem if you're craving Thai/Malaysian/Southeast Asian flavors in a really cozy, pretty setting. The ambiance feels warm and intimate..perfect for a date night or a chill dinner with friends. Service was good throughout, and there's a small bar right when you walk in, which sets the vibe immediately. Parking: Mostly street meter parking in the area, so give yourself a few extra minutes. Drinks: We tried the Lychee Blossom and it was pretty good..light, refreshing, and easy to sip with the food. What we ordered: Starters * Kampachi -- this was the only thing I didn't like and wouldn't order again. The fish itself was fresh, but the sauce combo didn't work for me. It was a lemongrass coconut sauce, which was actually delicious on its own, but I felt like it didn't pair well with the fish. I would've preferred something more bright and citrusy with kampachi. * Curry puffs -- sooo good. Basically like a samosa, and they come with a dipping sauce that made them even better. Mains / Sides * Butter chicken -- delicious, comforting, flavorful. * Roti bread -- must get (especially if you're sharing). * Grilled prawns -- amazing, and the sauce was fantastic. We were dipping the roti in it... chef's kiss. * Nasi goreng -- delish. Basically a really good fried rice situation with tons of flavor. * Green papaya salad -- super refreshing and bright, a perfect balance with the richer dishes. Overall, everything was great minus the kampachi sauce pairing for me. I'd absolutely come back to try more of the menu (and next time, maybe even dessert).

Perfectly delicious meal with the cutest vibes for a catch up with a friend. It does get quite busy and reservations are highly recommended! Got seated at the patio which had such a charming, cozy, and intimate vibe. We did the Chef's selection menu which is known to be "chefs choice, best of the best" and it truly lived up to it. If you're unsure of what to order or want to experience what the top favorites are would recommend going on the same journey I did. Loved the variety of food that we got to try which were all bursting with flavors. The drink options were fun as well and paired well with our food. The servers are all incredible with great attention to detail and friendliness. Such a wonderful dining experience! Parked at a nearby street meter parking which there's plenty of. Be mindful of the signs though as some are only for 15 minutes. Can't wait to come back!

Absolutely worth the try! If you like Southeast Asian food (Thai, Vietnam etc) then you will love Cobi's. Street parking with meters available. Make sure you're reading the signs. Some are 3hr limit and others are 15 min limit. Dinner ambiance is intimate, lowlight candle vibes with a boutique feel. Very cute! Our server was Jip who immediately greeted us with a warm personality and got us to try all the yummy dishes they were known for. Shoutout to Cam and Jonathan who also helped us! The food is crazy good. You MUST try the Scallop in Half Shell (it comes 2 ways), the Kampachi (coconut lemongrassy sauce is divine), and the Grilled Prawns (get the 4pc option, you won't regret it). Can't go wrong with Butter Chicken which absolutely hit and a side of Rice & Roti. Their desserts are simple and sweet. We tried the soft serve, Thai boba pudding, and the strawberry shaved ice. The soft serve was the best :) Can't wait to come back and try more! Thanks Cobi's!

Every dish tasted thoughtful, unique, and restaurant-week-level refined. We ordered the nasi goreng fried rice, noodles, beef rendang, yam dish, and pea salad. Flavor-wise? Almost everything was incredible. The beef rendang especially was packed with flavor, and every dish felt elevated and intentional. My only reason for knocking off a star is the value. The portions were tiny -- not "small plates" tiny, but more like one-to-two bites each while still being priced aggressively. By the end, I felt more impressed than full. If the portions matched the quality, this would've easily been a 5-star experience. That said, if you care more about exceptional food than portion sizes, this place is worth trying. One of the most memorable meals I've had on the Westside.

The prices are very reasonable, especially by LA standards, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Sadly, I have a peanut allergy, so I wasn't able to try the satay, but according to my friends, it was really good! I got the Soto Betawi though, and it was super delicious and flavorful. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back the next time I'm craving Indonesian food. I'd also recommend it to anyone in the area looking to give Indonesian cuisine a try.

It was crispy on the outside and the shrimp was slightly on the firm side and slightly savory. Nasi capcay included a lot of fresh vegetables. It had more liquidy sauce than expected . The veggies soaked up the liquids quickly and began to get a little soggy. However the veggies were savory. The dish could use more greens. NOTE: this dish comes with shrimp which was NOT disclosed in the menu. We specifically ordered veggie only. One party member wanted a veggie dish but could not eat it due to shrimp allergies. Let them know to cook without shrimp if you have shrimp allergies The Nasi bunkus was delicious. Traditional Indonesian food would typically have a lot more tumeric and spicyness but this dish felt more streamlined. You can ask for more turmeric and spicyness if you prefer. Also The chicken was flavorful but a bit dry. The Riice was good, flavorful and not greasy. Perkedelle was tender but did not have as much crispyness as other perkedelle that ive had. The potato inside was not as light and fluffy as expected (compared to other perkedelle) and was instead on the slightly dense side. It was still good. The Bakwang jagung, or corn fritters, were both crispy and a bit dense and sticky. It was savory and was not greasy at all. We liked this dish. Es doger was good BUT had tough meat husks in the drink. The coconut flavor and bits were a nice addition to the drink. The casava and condensed milk had the right amount without being overpowering. If not for the husks in the drink, i would recommend it. Es cendol was heavy on the condensed milk and slightly overrpowered the pandan jelly and bits of jackfruit. It was ok. Overall this restaurant is an option for the area if you are looking Indonesian food.

They really keep the authenticity and quality at a high level. The food is amazing and every dish we have tried has been consistently good. It can get a little pricey if you order a bunch of dishes with a group but it is completely worth it for the quality you are getting. One nice bonus is their loyalty program. If you spend over 50 dollars they give you a stamp card and once you collect ten stamps you get around 20 dollars off or a free dish. Definitely a good incentive to keep coming back. If you are looking for authentic Indonesian food in the Rosemead area I honestly do not think there is a better option than Medan Kitchen. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Of course, I had to order their rendang dish with their nasi kuning (yellow rice)/coconut rice mix and side of tempe. And of course, es cendol was a must! It was absolutely delicious!! I love the decor of the cafe, it's very homey but also exuberates the love for Indonesia. It's a loving mom and pop kind of business! We took our food to go because they looked swamped. We ordered the special plate, the gado-gado vegetarian dish, and a bunch of pastries from their small baked goods section. The special combo rice plate included a piece of chicken on a bed of shredded cabbage, what looked like two types of rice, some beef rendang, a side of curry that had green beans, onions, and chayote. And a nice fried boiled egg. I might be missing a meat, but it was a really wonderful sampler of some of their delicious dishes and thought it was great. The gado gado was actually delicious, I love their peanut sauce that goes great with the tofu, melon/radish, and egg! The cocopandan soda was pretty good, tasted like a cream soda/italian cream soda but when you get that cocopandan froth it's definitely more distinct! I don't think it has a strong pandan coconut flavor but it's good! I actually really liked their pastries--we had the Risole, Lemper, Dutch roll, and banana chocolate roll. When we come back I'd really like to try some noodle dishes and their Kaya toast! Risole was delicious, the roll is soft and tastes like a chicken pot pie, it comes with this absolutely addicting orange sauce, which was my personal favorite from the ones we tried. The lemper was warm, sticky rice well made with a sort of curry chicken inside. We had more of the addicting orange sauce. The Dutch roll is beef and kale mix, reminded me of a meat pie, it was still crispy on the outside. The banana chocolate roll is exactly what you'd expect! Pretty good. We enjoyed the food at kedai and appreciate this family carrying a big dream. You can feel the love they put into their pastries. We'll see you again soon Kedai!
