Lunch Beef koobideh & Ash - Shalgham (Vegetable Turnip Soup)
    Megan A.

The food was amazing! I ordered the Lunch Beef Koobideh with the Ash - Shalgham (Vegetable Turnip Soup). The flavors were delightful. I almost never clear my plate but I ate every last bite of this deliciousness. #cleanplateclub The service was wonderful. The two people working this afternoon were pleasant and attentive. I am only here for a few days but will likely go back before I head home.

Really wonderful food and service I love the little details like the cardamom and saffron sugar and the black/rose tea everything is cooked to perfection with grass fed beef and organic rice and vegan options for vegan friends. Special thanks to Marco and John our lovely servers who made great recommendations

If you're craving authentic Persian food, Tajrish Kabob is the place to go. With over 30 years of expertise, you can really taste the quality, grass-fed meats, organic rice, and the most fragrant saffron. The Beef Soltani Combo was absolutely delicious, and the Chicken Barg Kabob was so juicy and tender. A true taste of tradition in Marina Del Rey!

Perfect space for all group sizes. The food qas pretty good I enjoyed their Persian Ice Cream (even as a diabetic not too sweet) and the Beef Koobideh, great small meal combo. Service was attentive too and was a nice quick bite. Worth a return just would check your meats, one of my lamb pieces were not cooked to my degree. But they take care of you. Check out our amazing video on Instagram and follow @jadaexploresall!

Came here for lunch on a Wednesday, and it was awesome! Tajrish Kabob is under new management, and they've remodeled the space. It looks much more modern and clean than before. The new layout and aesthetic make for a great dining experience. I ordered the beef koobideh, and it was delicious! The beef was juicy, tender, and flavorful. The plate came with a generous portion of rice, along with a grilled tomato, onions, and a couple of bell pepper slices. It was a solid meal, though I do wish they gave a bit more meat instead of loading up on rice. Service was solid. The server we had was attentive and offered us more water every time before our cups were empty. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try more of their menu. If you're craving Persian food, you can't go wrong with Tajrish!

Delicious Mediterranean food - chicken kabobs were so moist and good. Probably the best chicken kabobs ive ever had - portion hugeee. Also tried the beef koobideh which was so yummy. Restaurant super clean - lots of parking.

We did two follow up dinning and each one was better than the last. The fish was excellent and the kabobs are incredible. Plus they now have beer and wine. They have a sparking blanc de blanc that is as good as it gets. Additionally, they use organic sourced rice and vegetables and grass fed beef - so get off you couch and drop by or order in.

The Mediterranean restaurant was an amazing experience! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. From the juicy kebabs to the fragrant saffron rice and tasty appetizers, everything felt authentic and homemade. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. We ended our meal with hot Persian tea and sweet baklava -- the perfect finish! Highly recommend if you're looking for real Persian-Mediterranean flavors. it is so close to the Venice Beach after you can walk and enjoy the breeze

Unfortunately, I will not be coming back. My family and I went here one afternoon and as we sat down, the attendant from the restaurant told us that the specific table we were sitting on wasn't part of the restaurant and we were not going to be served if we sat there in a very rude tone. We went ahead and moved. Then we went up to the cashier to order our food and the two people that were there were busy talking to each other in farsi about a customer that just came and didn't tip along with some very vulgar language. Then as we were ordering, we told them it was our first time and we got no smile or anything, very still faces like whatever. We ordered two Koobideh wraps and a few other things. It was very uncomfortable. The Cashier didn't even speak to us. As we sat down we were "served" after we HAD to ask if we get bread and onions and water because we saw that they were taking those things to other tables. The Koobideh wrap tasted like Rubber and you could barely hold it together as it was drenched with the sauce and all soggy. Even my 1 year old wouldn't eat it. We had to open up the sandwiches and eat them with a fork. It was not a good experience. Tip for the owner: You should probably remind your employees that some of your customers are Persian and they will understand them talking shit.

Only negative for us was feeling some pressure to upgrade the sides to our dishes (options to upgrade the salad and rice); we upgraded the rice and didn't necessarily enjoy the upgraded rice with cranberries and think the base options may have been preferable. Really enjoyed the included house salad! If you may know you have a preference for one of the upgrades it may be nice to have the options, otherwise, I would not hesitate to stick with the base which is delicious.

Honestly, I didn't even want to write this review, but after spending a couple of hours thinking…read moreabout it, I felt like I had to. To those writing all the good reviews, I genuinely have one question: have you actually had good Persian food before? Have you ever been to Raffi's? We drove all the way from Orange County because someone recommended this place. We usually just go to Raffi's, but I thought, "let's give this place a shot." Unfortunately, that was a mistake. First, I want to be clear: the staff were great, friendly and attentive. This review has nothing to do with them. It's strictly about the food. 3 Stew Tahdig ($17): The tahdig was extremely thick and hard. Even with the stew on top, it was basically inedible. Mast-o-Moosir (Shallot Yogurt): Served in a very small portion and was extremely watery. You could clearly taste raw shallots instead of a smooth blend. This dish should be made with thick yogurt (mast-e chekideh), not something runny. Main Courses: * Soltani ($39) * Naderi Soltani ($42) Honestly, we couldn't even tell the difference between the two, they seemed identical. We asked for well-done, but everything came medium or even undercooked. The barg kebab (filet mignon) was the worst part, it was tough, rubbery, and almost impossible to cut. It genuinely felt like chewing plastic. Not sure what kind of meat was used, but it definitely wasn't good quality. Salad Issue: The server asked which salad we wanted and mentioned Shirazi, Greek, etc. I chose Greek. When the bill came, we were charged an extra $2 for it, which was never mentioned. That should have been clearly communicated. Also, the bowl the salad was served in was chipped and broken in multiple spots--not a great presentation at all. Rice: The rice was poorly cooked and had barely any saffron (maybe 5% at most). Even another table nearby complained about the rice. Drink - Sekanjebin ($10): This is supposed to be a traditional Persian drink, but this tasted like a mix of cheap syrup. It did not resemble authentic sekanjebin at all. Appetizer - Marinated Olives (Zeytoon Parvardeh): The olives were unusually large and overpowering. This dish should be balanced, you're supposed to taste the walnut, pomegranate, and herbs, not just big olives. At this point, it made sense why the restaurant was almost empty on a Sunday lunchtime, maybe 4-5 tables total. To be completely honest, the food upset our stomachs to the point where we had to take Pepto-Bismol afterward. Overall, the food quality was very disappointing, and we will not be coming back. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic or well-made Persian food. Again, no issues with the staff, they were great. The problem is entirely with the food.

We decided to make a little trip out of it and drove out to West LA just for dinner. There was no wait and no line at 8 PM on a Saturday, so we were seated right away. The servers were very attentive from the start and made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. We ordered panir sabzi, ash reshteh, chicken soltani with chicken koobideh and chicken barg for me, and the rack of lamb for my husband. I really wanted tadig with ghormeh sabzi, but unfortunately we got there a little too late and it was sold out for the day. I have heard great things about their tadig, so that just means we will have to come back. The food came out a little slower than expected, but it was worth the wait. The panir sabzi arrived first. The goat cheese was very good. The walnuts were a little cold and slightly stale, but overall I did not have strong expectations for this dish, and it was still enjoyable as a starter. The ash was excellent. I did not grow up with a Persian presence in my childhood or early adulthood, but this soup felt very homemade. It was warm and comforting. The lentils, noodles, and herbs created so much texture and depth. The koobideh was incredibly buttery and melted in my mouth. The barg was just as soft and tender. I genuinely have no complaints about the meats. This was better than other Persian restaurants in the area that are much more popular. We mixed the rice with butter, tomato, and sumac, and it was simple but very flavorful. My husband loved the rack of lamb. He said it was one of the better ones he has tried. He liked the grilled smokiness and how juicy it was throughout. I highly recommend Darya if you have the chance. We are already talking about trying their sister restaurant, Sadaf, nearby. Plan ahead me called in the following for delivery last Sunday. So, what could possibly be ordered, remain fresh 24-hours later? I chose vegan/vegetarian sides/appetizers: Baba Ganoush - I've made it but Shamshiri Grill's is SO much better; creamy, perfectly seasoned. Hummus - Again, can DIY but why? Shamshiri Grill's is yum, pure yum, protein packed. Falafel - Balanced ingredients and frying technique is key. Came with a portion of tahini (had some in the pantry just in case). Should have ordered more falafel. Never gonna make this at home again, ever! Tabuli - Shamshiri Grill's includes the perfect hint of mint along with the parsley and tomatoes. Panir o' Shabiz - All aforementioned are wonderful BUT this, well this, is what I could eat and nothing else. Fresh basil, mint, tomatoes, radishes, sweet white onion, scallions, walnuts, feta, lemon, butter to be consumed with abundant pita bread and sumac provided. My kinda "sandwich"! This, Panir o'Shabiz was the only order I immediately deconstructed to avoid compromising the herbs' and veggies' freshness. Carefully wrapping them in kitchen towels, refrigerated then re-plated and back in the fridge prior to leaving for work after setting the table. Oh, isolated the feta and walnuts too. Everyone at last Monday's gathering is an omnivore with heavy plant-based dietary leanings. BUT, occasionally we stray hence a side each of chicken and beef koobideh (ground seasoned meat cooked kabob style) and grilled tomato, onion, red bell pepper garnish (also available as a side). I divvied each koobideh into bite sized pieces to be shared among three guests. REALLY good, make those tiny bites, REALLY, REALLY good. Everyone arrived, me too, on time to nosh on the veggie offerings as the koobideh and falafel gently warmed in the oven on low. Plenty of convo, cleared the table for tea and dried dates... Shamshiri Grill you and all the staff from chefs to delivery made my gathering a success, many thanks.
