The online ordering process was fairly straightforward- the site is used by other restaurants in our area so I had to double-check it was the right one! I pretty much always order the same vegetarian rolls - some may say boring, I say easy to please. This night, I ordered a sweet potato tempura roll, a peanut avocado roll, and an AAC with mango roll. I waited a few moments for the food once I arrived. The restaurant is open and bright- there are many succulents and plants near the entrance. There is a weird plastic screen mounted from the ceiling by the door- sort of a makeshift vestibule. I imagine during cold months, it helps regulate the temperature inside. I really only noticed it because I was standing there, staring at it while I waited for my order. It was a pretty clever contraption. The food was ready just a few moments after I arrived at the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and courteous- asked if I wanted chopsticks or soy sauce and happily accommodated my request for low sodium soy sauce. Took the rolls home and enjoyed them in pjs while a thunderstorm rolled through. I'd say the food was fine. There was no eel sauce on my rolls- which I wasn't sure if it's because I ordered all vegetarian. But, they needed something for flavor. I opted for hoisin sauce we had in our fridge. The sweet potato roll felt a bit like soggy tempura had been used- hence, needing a sauce. The peanut avocado tasted a lot like each of those ingredients and was very basic feeling without any added flavor. The AAC with mango roll was very tasty. Given the generic ordering I do for sushi rolls, I may likely opt for a different place next time but won't rule Sake Hana out forever.

The pork belly cha siu was rich and fatty and terrific - the definition of comfort food. The only gripe was egg was an add on .. other than that a must visit if you're in the area. They have a bar area if you're going alone and just want to enjoy the food without company.

Well, to our surprise we had a very pleasant first experience at this place. Starting with the ambience, the restaurant has a nice sophisticated and inviting atmosphere. Everything was very clean and organized in an elegant way, which caused a very good first impression. Continuing with the food, there is a variety of options in the menu, mainly Chinese (of course) but also a Japanese section (sushi and other items). We ordered from the Chinese options...For appetizers we ordered the Thai Spring Rolls, the Scallion Pancakes, and the Boneless Ribs, all of them very delicious. The Scallion Pancakes have been the best in terms of texture that we have tried in the area. Our only recommendation would be to add more scallions to the dough so they can taste more to scallion. The flavor of the Boneless Ribs was very tasty and their texture was tender, not chewy as we have tried in other places. The Thai Spring Rolls were interesting, flavor was good as well as the texture. As main entree, we ordered the Orange Crispy Beef and the Sesame Chichen and found both very delicious. The crispy beef was the first time we tried something like that in the area. The amount of sauce that they used in both dishes was not too excessive and the tenderness of both the beef and the chicken was very good. Regarding drinks, we ordered a Piña Colada and a Polynesian cocktail, both with very balanced flavors. The only recommendation for the Piña Colada is to try making it more frozen and not with too many ice cubes. The flavor was pretty similar to an authentic Piña Colada (we are from Puerto Rico, the place where this drink was born and have to admit that the flavor was good); making it more frozen would give the final touch to make it more authentic, in our opinion. The desserts menu was not extensive at all, only one option available which was the fried ice cream. We decided to try it anyway and found it very good. In terms of the service, it was acceptable. Our server did a great job taking the order and not missing any item as well as serving our table on time and accurate. He wasn't smiling all the time, but he was respectful and polite, enough for us. I would say that if you are in the area, you can give it a try. For 5 years we avoided this place, and unless they changed something recently I have to say that we like the experience and are planning to go back. We don't do late dinner regularly, so we went there around 5:30 pm, which we don't know if that could have made any difference in everything.

I ordered sushi via DoorDash to my work for me and my daughters who were hanging out with me for the day. I ordered one of my daughters her favorite: a shrimp tempura roll. I ordered for myself the hulk roll. My other daughter only eats California rolls and that preference saved her today. When the food was delivered, I had only a couple minutes to set my girls up before I had a meeting. I gave them their food then quickly tried a piece of mine. Mine looked like it was sprayed with a hose first, like the shrimp tails were soggy and droopy and not appetizing but I tried it anyway. I didn't love the smell as it got closer to my mouth and then once it was in my mouth it tasted like very potent fish so I spat it out and didn't eat any of the order. I had to then jump into my meeting. After my meeting I checked in with my girls who, the one with the shrimp tempura roll, said it smelled bad and tasted bad but she ate 80% of it (she's 8 and so not a picky eater). I blame myself for not just taking it away from her once I tried mine but I didn't put it together we both had shrimp plus my meeting started. So sure enough, 4 hours later she runs to the bathroom, keeled over in pain and it all came out (of both ends). My issue with this restaurant is their quality control, even if every other day they are satisfactory, something was really wrong with their product today but yet they carried on. There's no way they didn't notice visually something was wrong or couldn't smell it themselves.

Went here last night (Christmas Eve) for a nice dinner with 2 other families. When we walked in, they told us they would have to separate us because there wasn't enough space. We looked around and saw that more than half the restaurant was empty so we were a bit confused on that part. Anyways, we told them we wouldn't mind squishing into a smaller table because we wanted to spend a nice dinner together. When the waiter came, he had an attitude and told us we shouldn't order off the menu because it would be taking a very long time. He told us we should just get the buffet. Although we did not want the buffet, we agreed. Next we ordered a sprite for our son. The waiter all of a sudden demanded his age. This is the part we were very confused about. Why would age matter for ordering sprite? As we asked him why, he became furious and continued to ask for his age. In fact he became so furious that the people around us were also telling him to calm down. Myself and our family friends have never been this disappointed by mandarin. In the end, we ordered our food but left before it came in fury. We won't be going back anytime soon-- they should hire new and respectful staff. read more

We love to come to Mandarin. We used to visit the prior location al least once a week, and try to do the same now that they have relocated. They have competition right across the street, however it's Mandarin for us. The new restaurant is very elegant, down to the placemats cut to fit the table, go see them, you will see what I mean. They expanded their menu, and their drinks are superb. Excellent mixologist! The last time we went in it was for a late lunch, and the hostess thought we were there for the buffet, once we informed the server we weren't doing buffet she offered to move us to another, quieter section, we declined. (In retrospect we should have moved- the buffet was over but a few diners had still not had "all they could eat" and were asking for more from the kitchen). The menu is large and varied. I always get a variation of chicken and vegetables and I got the lettuce wraps which were finished up tableside. They were good although a little sweet. My mom and I chose to eat at Mandarin for my birthday but when we came in for the lunch buffet around 11:45, the food wasn't out yet and we had to wait. When it finally did, it was COLD. We were expecting it to be hot since the buffet had just started. The veggie noodles had no veggies and everything was soaked and dripping with oil. The tempura tasted much worse than usual and the summer rolls tasted like soap. I thought it might be worthwhile to let the manager know that everything was cold and tasted terrible but he had a complete "whatever" face and said he was sorry to hear that. Then nothing. Don't ever go there with Kids. These non speaking racist people hate kids. My toddler wanted to see the fish at the entrance and they came to me and said 'Americans are looking so take care of your kid'. By Americans they meant white people. I was shocked wanted to tell them if we are not white we are Americans too. Then the told my kid to go away like...shu shu go go go now.... If you are not a family restaurant advertise it that way so families with little kids don't come to eat here. I hated the food..it was all dripping oil. This place has really changed for the better. They have remodeled and the decor is lovely. They have a great lunch buffet with sushi too which being Japanese, I love. The variety is great and even have dessert! They are quick to wait on you and are always friendly.
