Food is GREASY - but I guess that is correctable if I had asked for my usual "low oil" - the "steamed peking ravioli" were pan fried and swimming in oil, but they were good but on the cold side. The eggroll from the lunch special was great. Equally slippery was the beef and broccoli. Pork fried rice wasn't bad, a bit bland, but you can add soy sauce. Egg drop soup was good. Best Chinese food anywhere. All of the food is made to order. Freshly prepared the food is always piping hot and tastes great. The wait staff does not hesitate to make sure you are pleased with your meal. They are the best. A pineapple shrimp dish is out of this world. Stopped in to check this place out the other night.. The sushi we got was pretty good, some kind of tuna roll. We also ordered the sizzling beef and scallops, but they brought the sizzling seafood instead OK fine we were hungry and didn't feel like waiting for them to fix the order. The seafood in this dish is all clearly previously frozen. What a disappointment. The lobster was tough and inedible, and the scallops were like rubber. My advice: stick to the sushi. read more

First time customer I called and ordered Curry Noodle Singapore Style(Rice Noodle) with "just tofu and vegetables, no meat." Picked up 10 minutes later. I do not consume alcohol, Sushi nor Sashimi, so this review does not refer to those items. Note that "Cheoy Lees II" was sold a few years ago and became 'Bamboo Garden', so possibly those reviews aren't reflecting current dishes. Pluses: Very good so called 'traditional' Chinese dishes (I think someone called it 'American Chinese'). Very flavorful. Very good quality. Minuses: Can't really think of any. I just had a luncheon special, General Tso's Chicken, which included pork fried rice (the yellow version) and I selected Crab Rangoon for appetizer (they make excellent rangoon!). Excellent recipe, high quality preparation. I used to get Egg Foo Yong on the luncheon menu, but when the sushi and sashimi arrived on the menu after the new owners settled in, they dropped a few options for luncheon items. Still have traditional ordering of Egg Foo Yong. Service, for my carryout is always awesone. Ambiance... for takeout?? We got take-out on a Saturday afternoon. I really wanted steamed shrimp shumai but when I opened the package at home the shumai was meat-based (it looked like a meatball in the wrapping). My favorite Chinese place in Clinton was closed so I decided to try this one. Everything was very fresh and it took about 10 mins to be ready to pick up. A little more expensive than other Chinese restaurants, but the quality is worth it. The customer service was polite and efficient. Best oriental food around. Scorpion bowls are perfect, have not had anything here that I haven't liked. Hot and sour soup is awesome, 7 stars around the moon is great, gia poo lomien is awesome. Cheoy Lee's is my favorite chinese restaurant in the Worcester area. Good prices, small but decent buffet. The best crab rangoons around! My husband does not like their General Tso's chicken, and their Sweet and Sour Chicken is different (they use vegetables in a sweet sauce rather than just red dye & HFCS!) but I like it, it's a little less greasy than your typical hole in the wall chinese. read more

So... like a lot of my reviews, I've been to every single restaurant that has been at this location over the years. Curiously enough, it's always been a chinese restaurant. I've eaten from Cheoy Lee's maybe 200 times over the years, so let's just get to brass tacks. The appetizers are standard chinese food. The chicken lo mein has a tendency to taste like it was cooked in a brick oven. I personally love the crab rangoons, and can't stand the chicken fingers. I've hit almost every chicken and beef dish on the menu at one time or another, and the ones I go back to are the Black Pepper Chicken, Chicken in Garlic Sauce, and Cashew Chicken (i like the chicken dishes, clearly). The beef and broccoli are really good and classically prepared (by classically i mean, classically for american chinese food). The bar seems to be the new hot place for west boylston folk to congregate, but then again, it's west boylston... the choices are slim. read more

My family and I have been here many times and ordered take-out many more times. The food is always above average Chinese food, and sometimes it is fantastic. They have a nice buffet, a bit pricey for what they offer, and the items don't seem to change very often, if at all. The hostess' are always very friendly, the place is very clean, but lacks ambiance. The waitresses do a good job of getting you what you want and checking on how things are going, but they are not talkative at all. Perhaps this is what has bothered some reviewers? The bar is small and pretty typical for a chinese restaurant. There seems to be a steady local group of bar patrons. My favorite dishes are the House Rice which is loaded with fresh shrimp, chicken and veggies, shumai, chicken wings (& normally i don't care for wings, but their's are great), Rose Shrimp, and Mandarin Crispy Shrimp. Cheoy Lee's is easily the best Chinese in the area. The only other Chinese restaurant ,west of 495, that is as good or better is Nancy Chang's in Worcester. read more

I used to love this place, but the last 2 times I've ordered from them, the food has been sub-par. Tonight, particularly, I ordered seafood lo mein, only to find most of the seafood within was rotton. The lobster was GREY and falling apart, and the stink was...hard to ignore. I know because those were the best crab rangoons I've ever had. Definitely a solid choice for Chinese. Top it all off with a Mai Tai and you have a good evening. When you walk in you think "wow small buffet" but they have everything you want when looking for Chinese comfort food and the dessert selection is better than any Chinese buffet I've ever been to. I've been to my most dine-in Chinese restaurants in central Mass including the best in Worcester and now Cheoy Lee's is just about the only Chinese food my wife and I and our friends ever have. The food is fresh and delicious especially compared to the frozen MSG-laden food fried up at your typical Chinese place- especially take out places. Moreover the service is superb and personal! The owners are often there and happily greet and get to know their customers at the bar. Our already high expectations were surpassed when we held a private party in their upstairs- 40 people, the whole second floor to ourselves, perfect Mai Tais, and excellent quality private buffet at a great price... two years later and our guests are still talking about it! I've had lots of terrible dining experiences elsewhere but never one at Cheoy Lee's and I'll be the first to say if that changes but until then I'll see you there... read more
