Wow, this is an excellent chinese takeout! Great tasty Chinese food & good value! This location was formerly known as New China (which has been in downtown Clinton for many years) when the owners sold it and it became China Time (same owners as Thai Times). China Time did not last long, and I think the owners tried to serve chinese food in portions like thai dishes (small portions). The new place/owner of Lucky House reminds me of the food offer by New China. The prices at Lucky House is much more reasonable than China Time, and good size portions. Food was excellent, and service is very good. Love the Tong Ting Shrimp dish under Chef Speciality, really Jumbo shrimp. The Shrimp Egg Foo Young had plenty of Shrimp, plenty of shrimp, chicken, pork in the House Moo Shu, and House Lo Mein. The boneless ribs where excellent, and the Chicken Wings are big and similar to the way New China offered, way better than China Time. I now have my favorite chinese takeout and plan to be a regular client. Welcome! You have to try this place, well worth it! read more

But if you do, you can avoid the generally poor impression that the entrance provides. Seemingly last updated in 1992, the space does not provide the general confidence that should be instilled by a location I have chosen to source my food. While generally clean, it seems cluttered. And the dining room does double duty as a waiting area. Whether dining or waiting, you will be subjected to the same arctic temperatures of this space. Hours later, I'm still thawing. Score: 3/5 As for the food, the fried dumplings and beef teriyaki were notable. That's why I just noted them. The general's and cashew chicken were both good dishes as well. Egg rolls with peanut flavor? Yes please. None of our food displayed the poor preparation habits speculated about by other reviewers. Score: 4.5/5 Overall Score: 13.5/15 will do again. I've been here a few different times and I still find the food to be the best Chinese food in Clinton, but the service isn't always great. Although they do offer 2 egg rolls or a free soda when they make a mistake it doesn't stop them from making mistakes. The trick is, they are always very busy on Fridays and anytime I've ordered on a Friday they tell me 30 minutes, and it takes at least 60. Other people waiting when I go to pick up report the same thing. The dining area is very small and the parking is very limited. I find it much easier to park on the street. read more

In the photos I took are All Day Special E8 chicken wings/chicken fingers with fried rice, Lunch Special L26 hot and spicy beef with fried rice and egg drop soup. Not so great anymore. Stopped for lunch on a Saturday mid afternoon. General Gao's chicken didn't taste like the real thing. The pork fried rice was terrible. Dark and old like it's been reheated more than once and i didn't see any pork in it. The chicken fingers were ok but the skin wasn't too crispy. Even the fortune cookie tasted stale. However, i loved the hot and sour soup which came out steaming. Very tasty and would get this again if we were to come back... which is unlikely. read more

Just got lunch from here. NEVER AGAIN! Everything in our pupu platter was definitely without a doubt re-cooked, not reheated but re-cooked all the fried stuff was dark brown dried out and un-edible. Straight in the trash. General gao chicken absolutely no spice at all. House fried rice.... Well for starters it's not fried and has zero flavor. Do yourself a favor. Save your money. McDonalds is like a gourmet restaurant compared to this place. No idea how they are in business it was that bad. I liked they have online ordering but the order was always wrong or imcomplete. They would end up needing to come back. This time I called in the order and picked it up. They forgot the pork fried rice and condiments and cookies. I called. They said we paid for what we got so it should not be a problem that they forgot the rice. With pick up you need to take the extras. We did not know and they didn't tell my husband. I was told it was the weekend, they were busy, and they make mistakes. I saw other reviews say they give you egg rolls or soda if they make a mistake- I never benefited from their mistakes. I said they should probably repeat the order back and they said they would do that for me next time. I said I had never given them a bad review for past mistakes but I would today. They did not care. Walked in and you can see the mold on the floor. I got take out because they weren't seating guests. All of the food tasted really funny and i ended up tossing it all in the trash. Now i sit here starting to feel sick. Ether the food was super old or it was under cooked. I feel like i got food poison. read more

We tried this place due to Clinton Gourmet being closed on Mondays. We will never be back there again. Ordered shrimp fried rice and a C17. What we got was a D17 (which I had repeated many many times C17 and D17 was more expensive). The shrimp in the fried rice was very bad tasting, the rice itself was not even fried rice. read more

Went to this place and ordered fried rice with me and my kids. All of the three rice orders tasted the same like it's been warmed up from the day before. Everything else was okay. I initially gave this a 2 star rating but changed it to one star because what I was charged for when I got my food, wasn't the same charge when I looked at my credit card payment, and never again will I go there again!!! read more

Lucky House is our go to for take out Chinese. Overall the food is good, and a great bargain. Every order over $10 gets a free item depending on how much you spend. The online ordering is awesome, and we've tried both delivery and pick-up. We haven't had to wait like others, but we tend to order during the week. read more

The man who took my order over the phone was very hard to communicate with. In repeating my credit card number back to me and stopped half way through and said " I forget the rest". I think he was trying to memorize my credit card number. It was both concerning and confusing. Food was good. Delivery was fast. That is all. read more

IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE DO NOT EAT HERE. alright so first sign is that this place has been reopened by the same family in the same location under a different name 5 times. that has to signify a problem. Everyone who has lived in Clinton for awhile knows this as the worst place in town. its dirty and the food is gross. there's been so many instances of people getting sick from this place. the only time I've actually ordered something there was when my friend lost a bet and had to eat there. they reluctantly took their first bite of a chicken finger and BLOOD POURED OUT OF IT. we were all in disbelief and started screaming. the staff tried to calm us down and said they would give PART of our money back if we didn't call anybody and report it. I received a menu in the mail earlier this week and was about to toss it in the recycling bin when I thought to check Yelp first. It had a 4 star and 5 star review with claims of fresh, good food. So my wife and I decided to give it a try and were very disappointed. Lucky for me, my expectations weren't too high to begin with and just walking into the place helped lower them even more. I probably shouldn't have even placed the order after asking if they use white meat in their General Tso's chicken, and was told "No, we use fried meat." I didn't know exactly what that meant, but it concerned me a little. She said we could have white meat for a $1 more. I thought that was reasonable until I ate some. The sauce was okay, but the chicken had a spongy texture. I can only imagine what the "fried meat" for a dollar less would have been like. I disagree with Jane W when she says that "the rice was not overcooked and 'old'". Mine certainly was overcooked and could very well have been "old", but perhaps I had the batch they made on May 12th when she was there... The chicken wings were so crispy and dry I thought they might shatter in my hands when I bit into them. I'll stick with Clinton Gourmet for my local Chinese food. read more

To update my prior review, I did give this place another chance. The food was still good, and there was no disaster. We put in a large order with a variety of things, and no one complained. Or raved. I will go back again, and I have upgraded my review from 1 to 3 stars...it will take a few more solid experiences to erase the sting from the first visit. read more

I don't know why but I am surprised that I find the food here very good. Everything we have ordered...over several meals....has been very good. Chinese food in MA is typically buffet food served in plastic containers but this place is pretty good by comparison. read more

old food I buy today 11/24/2017 and this bad one stinks !!! I had to throw it out call they said they had cooked it today

2 Strikes! You're Out!!!! Went in last year and they I had to wait 40 minutes because they gave my order to someone else, food was marginal. Went in today figuring they were just having an off day last year. AGAIN, it took a long time and as I waited I noticed another customer left with his food and showed up again 20 minutes later saying they got his order wrong. All I could think was "here we go again!", so 30 minutes later they had the 10 year old behind the counter give me my order. He read it directly from the receipt so I thought how bad could it be. Get home after a long day and to my surprise (sarcasim) they forgot a full entree that I ordered. Sigh, its a shame to be in the food service biz and not be able to do the simple things such as getting orders out in a timely manner or correct. read more

Been 3 times, each time my order was either wrong (beef lo mein when I ordered vegetable, chicken fingers instead of crab rangoon...), or they just forget to put an item I ordered and was charged for in the bag. The may time they got mad when I came back 5 minutes later because they charged me for sushi and forgot to put it in the bag. Horrible customer service. Never going again. read more
