This is a great place to dine The food is great and portions are nice. Service was excellent and the kitchen was very fast. We will be visiting again and also getting take out. read more

A solid mainstay of the Lewis-Clark valley for decades, Mandarine Pine only gets better. The team has taken the quality and taste if the food up notch by notch and the ambiance continues to follow. You'll get great food in generous portions that will suit any palette. Try the fresh dishes, they use good cuts of meat and lots of fresh veggies. read more

I tried the PHO soup for the first time at this restaurant. It was absolutely amazing. I had PHO soup at many locations in Spokane and this soup is a 5 out of 5. Try it, you won't be disappointed! read more

Decent Chinese place. My only sorta gripe is that they like to put a lot of ingredients in places they don't belong. I had eggflower soup, beef with broccoli, beef lo mein noodles, and rice. Literally everything I ordered was stuffed with celery and onions and mushrooms, and water chestnuts, and all sorts of random "chinese food" vegetables. Including the soup. It wasn't bad, just not what I expected. In fact, broccoli was the least represented vegetable in my beef with broccoli! Also, this is a weird nit-picky little thing, but maybe if the management reads this they can take note. You guys have the worst toothpicks I've ever used. Switch brands or something. They didn't remove any food and just left splinters stuck in my teeth. read more

This place is one of the best Chinese places in Lewiston. I'm only slightly critical since I'm Asian and from California where there's large Chinese population. When I think of chinese I think of home cooking comfort food. Stuff here isn't exactly "authentic" Chinese. It's Americanized Chinese and still done very good and full of flavor but the restaurant doesn't serve what I know and grew up with. That's my major criticism. However, while in town this was one of our go to spots because the food was good, and served in generous portions for plenty of leftovers for lunch or a late snack. It's always busy here so expect service to be a little spotty at times with waiters and waitresses being bombarded with customers. Overall, good place to go to and I'd come here again. But this isn't exactly a place that reminds me of "home" when I go here unfortunately. read more

Typically avoid writing reviews less than 4 or 5 stars. Last several visits over a 12 month period: Too salty and syrupy sauce. Over cooked veggies. Rude waiter. No amount of stress or busy-ness warrants being just plain 'ol rude. Especially, after a 35% tip given up front for a pick-up order. Not worth another try. read more

It's ok food !! Didn't like the egg foo yungwon't come back .. Pot stickers were really good ... Mongolian beef ok .. read more

I love Mandarine Pine. I have been eating here since I was in high school, but had been away for so long, I had to pop in and see if it was the same. Still my favorite Chinese food in Lewiston. Unlike some reviewers, I actually love having the cabbage and everything in the egg flower soup for extra crunch. The potstickers were perfectly cooked! Just the right amount of fried and steamed and were nice and plump. I enjoyed everything on my plate. I might have liked the egg foo young slightly better if it was a little more crispy on the edges, but it was still good. We had excellent service, even though the gentleman was the only server, it seemed, at that time of day, and had several tables. He didn't slack and kept up on everyone's needs. Also, the bathrooms were clean which was a major plus in my book! They did not disappoint. read more

This restaurant was not good. The sushi tasted moldy. Do not go there. Service was slow. Food was horrible.

This was hands down the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. I could borderline claim this was just the worst food I have ever eaten. Our meal started off with appetizers, potstickers and fries wontons: to be fair, these were decent -- edible, if nothing else. We were given a thick, gelatinous, pink sauce, that I would guess was sweet and sour sauce, and a soy sauce to dip in. Both were adequate. Our meal was the combination chow mein dinner with egg flower soup, egg roll, hot & spicy chicken, egg foo yong, pork fried rice, and chow mein. The egg flower soup was fine, though filled with celery and sprouts. The egg roll was large, probably 6-8 inches, and we only ate two bites before discarding it. The hot and spicy chicken was mostly hot and spicy vegetables, minus any kind of "spicy". The chicken was almost nonexistent. Egg foo yong was cooked until it was a thick, brown patty covered in brown gravy and was similar to eating hash browns from McDonalds. Once again, we ate two bites and found it too disgusting to continue. The pork fried rice was fine, had slivers of some kind of meat in it, but we had to dip it in the brown gravy to give it much of a flavor. And finally the chow mein: I ordered crispy noodles which earned me a thick, dense, sodden but stale noodle akin to uncooked ramen. Luckily, I was only given about six noodles to eat, so it wasn't a problem. What most of my chow mein consisted of was finally chopped, overly cooked celery soaked in soy sauce. We discarded everything and hoped we didn't get some kind of food poisoning. And the last, strangest part of the meal is that we were given small containers of ketchup and horseradish mustard. I don't even have an explanation for that. I will never come near this place again. read more

First time here. I got the Brocolli Beef lunch special. $9.50 after tax for all this food. Quality of the food was great, complimentary egg flower soup and tea. They made the beef spicy because I asked, service was good. The only problem was I gave my server a $20 and he came back with a $10 bill so I could only tip him the $0.50 and two dollars I had in my wallet. Overall would recommend to a friend and in fact I already have. Will return read more

Mandarin Pine Restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Lewiston, Idaho

Very good service and food. Ordered the General's Chicken, to go, and it was fantastic. Very spicy, like it should be, and great portion size. Will definitely go back. read more

I was not impressed with any of there food... Wonton soup was so gross I had to send it back and get egg flour soup witch was not that good eater. So little food for the price and tasted bland. I will not be back again for a second time was disappointed... read more

The food is standard Chinese. They have a piano player playing during dinner time, which almost elevates this to 4-stars. Service is about average. read more

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the valley! Great prices and good portions. The fish tank in the entrance is pretty awesome too

I really enjoy the quality and quantity of food here as well as the service. Great egg flower soup, mandarin chow mein, the list goes on and on! read more

Must admit the crab wonton were not bad. With that being said, unless you are planning to dine on fried cream cheese and Krab wontons and nothing else, skop the Mandarin Pine! We stopped in for lunch, a little later than the lunch rush. The place was nearly empty and the service was fine. However, the food was terrible! We each received a bowl of what the menu called egg flower soup. It foretold what was to come. Overcooked vegetables in a thick flavorless goop. Granddaughter ordered broccoli beef, very little broccoli actually made it into this dish! The dish consisted mostly of thick brown sauce and a few pieces of tough beef. My daughter and I each selected items from the lunch menu. The vegetables were all grossly overcooked, the spicy chicken was flavorless and the chow mein was a gloppy mess of overcooked celery and limp onions. The fried rice had no flavor beyond soy sauce. We will not return. read more

Picked this place because of the picture of the lettuce wraps. Great food. I really loved the lettuce wraps and the vegetable dish we had.

Food is ok. Sometimes its hard to make it clear to some of the servers when you need your order prepared slightly different than the norm. It took us 3 minutes (& 5 different ways to say it) before we could make her understand. Its much more expensive than some of the other chinese places in town. We like bamboo gardens better. read more

My family got an order to go with some chow mein combos and sweet and sour chicken. We paid at the bar and asked if hot mustard was included, and if not, if we could get some. The bartender assured us everything was included so we paid and left. Upon arriving back at our house we realized a few things. Our order was not accurate (we paid for a combo that included prawns which was extra cash but didn't get them) and of course, no hot mustard. The food was alright, but the almond chicken seemed a little bland. Overall everyone seemed nice and the restaurant had a clean atmosphere from what we saw inside, however due to the poor attention to detail and incorrect order we probably won't be going back. read more

Excellent service, great food. The flaming appetizer platter is just awesome! Best Chinese food in the valley.

Worst service I have ever had. Food was ok. Won't ever eat there again. Had to ask for our drinks we ordered even after we received our appetizer. Got dirty plates. And our to go orders were wrong. read more

Food wasn't too bad, but the number one thing I judge a Asian restaurant on is its rice. The rice is subpar. It might be minute rice. The rest of the meal was good, but I can't get past how horrible the rice was. Also our server was really bad. Someone else kept helping us because our server wouldn't. read more

We have eaten at Mardrin pines many times but today's service was terrible. After we ordered we did not receive our soup we asked another waitress we received our soup with our meal. Our dinner got cold while we ate our soup. Never got refills on our water. He is the worst waitress. Will not be returning. read more

Delicious. I haven't had good Chinese food like his in ages. The fried rice is amazing and the chow mein I could eat every day. The decor is beautiful and unique. It's very clean and our server was helpful and genuine. We also saw people coming in for take out every two minutes, so it must be good! We will eat in again and order out as well. read more

We've been visiting my brother in Lewiston for 20 + years and always make a point of eating at Mandarin Pine. Great food, service and the decor has been recently updated. They also provide space for large parties that is tucked away from the main dining room, nice touch. read more

We tried the Mandarin Pine before the remodel and we've tried it a couple of times after their remodel because we heard they had a new "chef." "Chef" would be a complete overstatement. The food is pretty much overall terrible. We won't be headed back in this lifetime. read more

I experienced unusually bad service for a place named "best in the west 2015" in the hour that I will never get back ever again. I went through the entire list of things not to do in any business. First of all walking into the place and seeing the award I was excited. The host who looked like she was a recent high school graduate needs to go back and do it over again. She had no idea of what to do with herself when I noticed her pacing back and forth throughout the restaurant. A stack of plates on the tables still had fries and ketchup stains from the last family which was there for the appetizers that we ordered. She came out with the food without it being complete meals and didn't know who ordered what lol. The bartender who was the only person running the show tried to do the best he could with the four tables that were being occupied. Food came out periodically before the drinks that had been ordered which my mother-in-law had to remind him of. The egg drop soup had frozen pees which was funny. The prawn plate combo came out without prawns since they were still being cooked. Some weird taste of burnt noodles in the Chicken beef pork chow mien which the pork tasted old. The list goes on. The to go plates were messed up since we ordered and paid for prawns but received chicken. I can't tell you who sad I feel for the owner who has her face on magazines for receiving accolades for the circus ran restaurant. In my option she needs to be there in order to parade her clowns. I felt like I was on the tv reality show rescue restaurant since I kept looking for hidden cameras. I highly advice you not to waste your time. You will regret it as soon as you walk in. If I was the owner I would fire the entire wait staff to include the bartender who obviously needs help understanding the difference from poultry and seafood! read more

We had the take-out, so I can't comment on the service, but it was a very busy place on a Monday night. We ordered lemon chicken, "happy family," (a mix of beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, and veggies) and sizzling chicken. The phone ordering was easy--quick answer, no having to repeat it three times, etc.--and order was ready on time despite the busy-ness of the place. Steaming hot, big portions, and the vegetables, in particular, were obviously very fresh and not from frozen, and not over-cooked and limp. Sauces weren't gloppy and actually seemed different across the dishes, i.e., not served up from the same giant mystery pot in the back. The only exception was the lemon chicken, which was a little iridescent and gloppy. Definitely up for a return trip to test how they do with other dishes. read more

We've been customers since they've opened and were happy with the quality of food and service until yesterday. We arrived around 5 pm and the service and quality of food was way below what we experienced in the past. We ordered the lettuce wrap appetizer and got way more stuffing than the small amount of lettuce would accommodate. The server brought us the soup that came with our meals. She brought two bowls out, one for the table behind us and the other one for us. The second bowl came out about 2 to three minutes later. The main entrees arrived in the same fashion only the wait time between the two meals had increased to 8 to 10 minutes. The server didn't inquire whether we wanted anything but water (hot tea would have been nice). The quality of the food was terrible. The Chow mien was bland and tasteless with broccoli that smelled old and way over done. Both the almond chicken and the sweet and sour chicken were made with meat that had characteristics consistent with processed sandwich meat. My wife's spring role wasn't cut in half as it had been before and appeared to be extremely greasy. Her teriyaki chicken skewer was very dry. We are very disappointed and no longer customers. read more
