Right off the bat, I will tell you that I LOVED THIS PLACE! I want to become a regular there. We went on great night, the Saturday before Memorial Day. Everyone is out of town so it was not very busy; we were able to get right in at 6:30pm. The restaurant was really clean. The seating areas were comfortable and well decorated. The only issue that had was the lighting; it seemed somewhat dim and it was a bit difficult to read the menu. The staff was very friendly. We were seated quickly and given water. They refilled my water about 8 times that evening; they were very attentive. My wife commented that she wished that the staff was dressed a bit more formally, as they were dressed a bit too casual. My wife visited the restroom and found it to be decent. The menu was quite broad with many options. They have great combination options at wonderful prices. The thing I liked the most was, even though we all ordered our own combinations, they served each part of the combination on separate plates so it was easy for all of us to share entrées. The entrées we ordered were Chicken Chow Mein, Pon-Pon Chicken, Beef and Green Beans, Mongolian Beef and Fried Rice. The appetizers that came with the combinations were egg rolls, fried shrimp, cream cheese wontons and Gyoza. They also served us Egg Drop Soup or Hot and Sour soup. The total bill before tip was $56 for four people. Pretty reasonable and it was a lot of food! The soup tasted really good, served at the right temperature. All of the appetizers were awesome; they left me wanting to order more each of them. The fried rice was really good also. The Chicken Chow Mein was good, not the best I have had, but it had a lot of really fresh vegetables. The Pon-Pon Chicken was really good. It had just the right amount of breading with a delicious sauce; I will definitely get this again. The Mongolian Beef was really good as well, had just the right amount of heat for me. The best dish of the evening was the Beef and Green Beans. It was money! So good! If I had only this dish for the rest of my life, I would be a happy man. I have always loved green beans since I was young (I was a weird kid. Hell, I still am!), this dish had amazing beef with a light but flavorful sauce. read more

Since Chef Ming's closed we have been looking to try other places in our area. We tried this place and unfortunately it was a disappointment. We got take out and they did not used spill proof containers like other places. Just stryofoam with the one tab and the container with brown gravy spilled all over everything else in the bag. What a mess! The beef and broccoli was mostly broccoli and not enough beef for one meal - the person had to cook other food. Some of the broccoli was good and some was bitter. Not going back. Someone posted here or somewhere else that there are new owners... read more

We love this place and order from it often. The food is great and they make it pretty quick!

I ordered take out from here and it was inedible. This was some of the poorest quality Chinese food that I have ever attempted to eat. Please don't waste your money. read more

Very good food. It's pretty pricey for portions that are not very big compared to other places. Customer service is amazing. I love this place. read more

I honestly think this is one of the best Chinese food that I've had in Utah. I have loved everything that I've tried here. The food is delicious. And it's not super heavy which I think is a common thread among other Chinese restaurants I have been to in the state. Now when I think of Chinese food, this is one first place I think it. It's clean and the service is good. Staff was great, prices were great, and atmosphere was great. read more

Very Disappointed to say the least. Ordered Egg rolls and Beef Lo Mien(soft) with extra beef. The egg rolls were crispy and mushy on the inside with hardly any flavor. The Lo Mien was flavorless, lacked vegetables and the noodles were mushy. read more

Food is awesome, specially the lunch hour bento boxes are my favorites. Fast service, clean restaurant. Just wish the owner/front desk lady would be little bit more friendlier to non-white customers read more

Got the it food for dinner. Their orange chicken didn't taste like orange chicken at all. Their lemon chicken was the same. Their quality of food wasn't that tasteful at all. Will not be going back there read more

Always consistent with great food and service! I've been going here for three years and love it!

We have been looking for a new Chinese restaurant in Sandy, UT. We we're pleasantly surprised, the food was great oh, we were able to eat family-style so everyone could try the basis dishes. They seated is quickly and there was very little waiting time for food. read more

Mandarin Garden - Walnut shrimp was very tasty! - Chinese Near Me - Sandy, Utah

Mandarin Garden has excellent Chinese food. What really sets them apart is their level of customer service. We have been eating here for the past 5 years and always had great food. Even if something happens that is unexpected they are gracious and kind and go over the top to make sure you have a great experience. We will keep going here as long as we live here! Thank you for being a great place to eat. read more

Ordered take out, items missing from our order and the Walnut Chicken was extremely underwhelming. It was literally breaded frozen chicken patties sliced up with a little glaze over the top, very little glaze. Not enough sauce to have glazed the chicken as was expected. read more

Horrible service. We waited an hour and a half to pick up our food, and when we finally reached the front desk they said it would be another hour. read more

The worst!!! The place is dirty. No beer or wine although waitress thought root beer was a beer. they even have a big bud light neon sign out of order. did not give clean plates when requested. did not give serving spoons with dishes. very disappointing...... read more

Maybe it would of been better if we wasn't taking it 2 hrs away. Shrimp was rubbery, orange favor chicken was rubbery. This place had high reviews. Will give it another shot later. But right now still looking for my favorite Chinese restaurant. read more

I ALWAYS order the green bean w/chicken dish...something about fresh green beans, stirred w/chicken, slightly seasoned...yum! They are consistent w/this dish, normally it's hot and spicy but, when they see me, they no...no heat. Whatever seasoning they use (no msg), it's so tasteful. I also had the beef lo-mein, it was good, I've had better but, it complemented the chicken w/green beans. This is my go to place for Chinese, I know they are consistent and won't be disappointed. read more

I'm sorry but this food tasted like a dirty sink. The beef and broccoli was cold and they dusted the beef pieces with some kind of flour? Ugh! Never again read more

CHINESE GET IN MY BELLY For what it is, this place rocks! Stuff your face lunch combos for under $10? You betcha. Honestly, I'd pay more for this quality of food. I went in for lunch yesterday by myself and was immediately greeted and seated by friendly waitstaff. My server was more than willing to accommodate my request for shrimp with vegetables, and my egg drop soup came out quickly after I placed my order. I could see how the egg drop soup might have an unappealing consistency for the average American palate, but I found it to be quite tasty. Next time I'll try the hot & sour. In the same respect, I loved the sweet and creamy dressing that came on my salad, but I could see how some might find the flavour off putting. My bento box also came with two deep fried gyoza and an egg roll. I have yet to find a better egg roll in Utah. The shrimp and veggies came in a typical and tasty chinese brown sauce. Instead of canned mushrooms, fresh ones were used!! Gasp!! Loved it. The fresh watermelon was a fabulous touch to top off my lunch. Well done Mandarin Garden!!! Don't forget to tip your server. If you can afford $8 for sit down lunch, you can afford to tip the waitstaff an extra $5. read more

Mandarin Garden - Bento box at lunchtime! What a steal. (Don't forget to tip your server!) - Chinese Near Me - Sandy, Utah

This place is so yummy! The green beans with either chicken or beef is the best! Perfectly cooked. The wonton soup is excellent too. We enjoy getting the dinner b because it comes with all the yummy sides too. It's so much food for a good price and we always have enough for lunch the next day. We also like the walnut shrimp and the shrimp with veggies. Both super good. read more

this place is somewhat good, but we got it delivered. it almost seems like our soups were smashed together on purpose, the egg drop soup tasted so bad. I do recommend getting anything chicken here, but that's it. read more

I was excited to try this place reading the good reviews but when the food finally arrived my feelings quickly changed. Several egg shells in the fried rice, took a couple bites and literally felt a crunch each time. Box that egg fu young was in had a hole on the bottom so there was liquid spilling out .Food was average, either too salty or bland. read more

Worst Chinese I have had in years. Generals chicken was hard as a rock and overly sweet. Bean curd sauce tasted like ketchup.

Beware. This once fabulous restaurant has changed hands! The last two times we that we ordered takeout the food was below par. The fried rice was tasteless and the cashew chicken was more than 50 percent chicken skin. Our neighbors son ordered Mongolian chicken. The order was mostly onions and he became very ill after eating. We are looking for a new Chinese restaurant. read more

We've visited this restaurant several times and the food is always great. Their prices are in line with like type restaurants. The service has always been great except the last time we visited. We were a little disappointed we weren't taken care of better. We felt maybe the server wasn't quite up to speed with the customary service this restaurant normally provides. But we'll return again in the future. We recommend this restaurant for their delicious food. read more

One star is one too many worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life and I've been eating it for over 60 years. Do not eat here.

Give this place a try! The food was very flavorful. We tried the Kung Pao Tofu which was great

I thought I would give this restaurant a try. The reviews are very mixed. My waitress was the cashier as well and the service was very poor. I had to get up and get my own plate and napkins. The quality of the ingredients was way below average, the presentation was poor. My dish had beef in it, but it did not taste or look like beef. Left half my meal on the plate. Everyone loves good Chinese food, this restaurant needs to consider doing a better job so they can stay in business. read more

We've been ordering from here for 2 years. They are always fast, pleasant, and the food is priced reasonably. I'd give the quality about 3.5/5. I'm giving them 5 stars though because for what I'm ordering from them, I know exactly what I'm getting and they are consistent with that. I just wish they were open on Sunday! read more

Talk about the best Chinese place around for sure. I learned some great things about there dishes. Unlike most Chinese restaurants that will use one base sauce for most dishes and then just add something a little different to change things they make there sauces completely unique to each dish. Han & Michelle that are part of the ownership group are there in the restaurant and take great pride in giving there customers a great experience with incredible food and a really great price. I will be coming often and bringing friends. This is a go to place in Sandy, Utah for sure if you are anywhere in the SLC valley you have to come and try there food. Sit down and enjoy a great plate of tasty food. See you soon! read more

Thought this place was great! The dishes we ordered for takeout were very tasty, and we would definitely order from here again!

Worst customer service ever and every time I order take out I'm missing items. I have given this place way too many chances and they fail every time. I will be driving the extra miles to Red Dragon where the food is hot, fresh and the customer service is great. read more

Food is so good and original. Our favorite is the green bean chicken. Our family has been going here since 2017. Love this place!

Pretty standard family style Chinese restaurant. Food is pretty good and quality across the board, but nothing is really memorable. I recommend the hot and sour soup which is heartier than others in the area and their lo mein which is happily not a greasy mess! Service could be better. The boy who served us had an attitude like he'd rather be any where else. He never smiled. We heard him argue with another patron. The girl at the counter was really pleasant and talked with everyone. They should switch duties. read more

The owner is awesome and does great service. We mainly come here for lunch and every time she remembers what we normally order and greets us warmly.
