My family and I have NEVER experienced such amazing customer service! Wendy was by far the best server/host we have ever encountered. She made us feel so welcomed and not to mention the food was AMAZING. She went out of her way to give my son a hot chocolate and introduced us to monk fruit sweetener! She went out of her way to make us a beautiful Christmas card that we will always cherish, and she sang a song to us for being first timers (btw her voice is beautiful). Honestly no words can explain just how happy we were with the service, the cozy mom and pop restaurant feel. This place was amazing. They gave us free tea and free crispy noddles while we waited for our food. They had egg foo young which we can never find! It was also apart of their lunch special and we were able to get the mixed meat for the egg foo yong. The lunch special is like a 5 course meal and came with hearty egg drop soup, a big egg roll and a fried shrimp. Their server was very friendly and quick to serve us. This was a nice Chinese restaurant and had home vibes. We will make the drive up the mountain again to get some more egg foo young. read more

As someone lives on and needs good Chinese food to survive, I was pleasantly surprised to find this establishment while searching for a late dinner. The food tastes authentic, great bang for your buck, and the decor is so unique and homey! As I waited for my order, I really enjoyed looking around at all their family Photos on the wall--which really made me feel like I was in their home. We ordered the combo lo mein and the fried rice, both tastes just like what my family makes at home! The beef and broccoli was saucy with a good ratio of beef to broccoli, just like how I like it! We had the best lunch at Mandarin Garden today! The Chinese restaurant is just outside Blue Jay and if you are in the mood the food is plentiful and delicious. We ordered the barbecue ribs and they were full of flavor and meat. Green pancakes were delicious as well. And, the won ton soup was full of vegetables, wontons (not over cooked), shrimp, pork and chicken. We will definitely be back. Owners are extremely friendly and attentive. We were looking for a restaurant after a nice day of wondering around Lake Arrowhead with friends the day after a wedding and somehow decided that Chinese food might be good and found this place and made reservations. We ordered 4 different dishes to split and all were delish. We asked for small changes on some and Wendy, our server, made sure they were done to perfection. This is a family business and each family member was friendly and gracious. If you get Wendy as your server ask her to sing for you. She sang two songs for us and has a rally nice voice. read more

Absolutely loved this place! We ordered the moo shu pork with pancakes, honey walnut shrimp, and pork lo mein, and everything was delicious and full of flavor. They even gave us tea, which was such a nice touch and tasted great. It's a small spot, but we really enjoyed the food. The owner (I believe) was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We are repeat customers who absolutely LOVE this place. Flavors are great and the staff is super friendly. Never gotten sick from eating here, unlike other restaurants in the area. Some of our favorites to order here: green onion pancakes with brisket, wonton soup, sesame shrimp, soup noodles, and curry. Beware- there's a crazy dude named Jim B. who will message you nonstop negative things about this place if you dare to post a positive review. He apparently checks their health ratings over the years and watches their Yelp page, messaging people who post reviews. Who is this obsessed with a restaurant they don't like? Seriously. And even though HE is the one who messages you first (and who won't stop sending messages), he'll then try to flip it around on you and state that you're "sending him paragraphs" ...when all you're doing is responding to the obsessive messages he won't stop sending LOL. I'd rather write in full, eloquent sentences than rant in short phrases like this cave man. Lots of crabby old people on this mountain with way too much time on their hands and no lives. They ruin it for everyone. read more

All I can say is the food was BAD, and I've had jail food. Yikes... First, a server broke glasses in front of our table and then just swept all the glass into a corner without apologizing or anything. The service was slow and unprofessional, one server was even wearing flip flops. When walking out we saw the employees/servers eating in a side room by the main entrance. Blown away. read more

Yes, it is very convenient in the mountains as there are limit choices for Asian food. But this is not special or even average. Happy they are there for us. orange chicken is not crunchy. The honey walnut chicken is mixed with mayonnaise. Just some things you need to be aware of. But again it's still a decent choice but not special. read more

Vegetarian review. I was able to order all of my dishes without onions/garlic. I got: Sweet n sour tofu (good) Eggplant (good but wish they didn't put bamboo) Mooshoo (good, also don't like bamboo) Braised beans (good) Lo mein (looked like chow mein but honestly don't know the difference) Came with rice All dishes were actually good. I enjoyed each one and ate until I was stuffed! Sometimes you worry it's too salty or not enough flavor but I truly enjoyed it as a person who eats Chinese food often! They give fortune cookies and almond cookies :) My kids loved it. Sorry I didn't take any pics. Parking shouldn't be an issue. Good thing is that when everywhere else has an hour wait during lunch time, this place doesn't!! :) read more

This was a family owned restaurant and when the chef heard that my daughter had allergies he came out, asked a lot of questions and then created her very own chicken fried rice with coconut oil and chicken that had not been marinated (which every one of their dishes naturally came with - egg marinade). It was tasty and so thoughtful - it touched my heart. We didn't ask for any of this special treatment at all. Would sing their praises to anyone. The service was incredibly friendly and the food was in very large portions. Everything we ate was delicious. We had the family dinner with chow mien, also orange chicken, and chicken fried rice. Well hello local old school traditional American Chinese food!!! It took me back to my childhood Chinese spots in China Town. My kids really enjoyed the flavor and they have only had the new stuff. This was actually our second visit in 2 months, and the food was just right. Freshly made, flavorful, and with good shareable portions. Customer service is very friendly and quick. The owners daughter even sings to you at the end of your meal. The owner was outside guiding us for parking due to the extra snow. What I'm driving here is that you are very welcomed by everyone in the restaurant. The place could seriously use an update, but it is not dirty. As a matter of fact they work hard to keep it clean. On this visit we brought some family (x4) and they all enjoyed it all. Needless to say we will always come back, and recommend to others. read more
