This place was AMAZING!! The prices aren't bad as well. Came in here for the first time with hubbs yesterday and they sat us immediately. The clam chowder soup was fantastic and I ordered a cheeseburger with avocado.. one of the best burgers I've ever had. Ate the whole thing. To the waiter that was a complete A.Hole.. you should get a new job because you had the worst attitude yesterday! We came in yesterday for late breakfast early Lunch and the guy was such. Cee U Next Tuesday! We hadn't even sat down yet and he had that sourpuss look on his face. All I asked was if they had beer and he gave the ugliest look and was like no, we don't serve alcohol here.. with the most condescending tone! Ok... so we sit down and we haven't even opened the damn menus and he's trying to rush us on our drinks... ok. I asked if they had chocolate milk for my kids and this guy straight out just tells me, "well, I can make One"... who freaking responds like that? Just say yes! First off, the staff is incredible! They're extremely nice and super friendly and really attentive! The vibe is very small town diner with a mod-podge of decor with delicious food! The portions are huge and everything was so good. Multiple times my fiancé and I said how good everything was and we shared everything. The biscuits are a must! They also have these huge slabs of brownies near the front counter that are to die for and the strawberry shake definitely hit the spot for the drive home. Horrible service... or lack there of. Was not greeted or acknowledged when we walked in even though there were multiple servers walking around and chatting. (White lady, tall male server and dude with glasses) we seated ourselves and waited 5 minutes just to get the menus. Once we were given menus, we got our drinks immediately but waited over 10 minutes before we had to flag a server down to ask him to take our order. He noted he would tell a server which was the woman that was standing behind the register staring at us the whole time. When he told her (we're right in front of her) she still took a minute to walk up. At that point we did not want to spend any money here. Not busy.. I phoned my order in around 5:00 pm and it was ready in fifteen minutes. The woman who rang me up was very friendly, as was one of the young waitresses who thanked me on my way out. She didn't have to do that but she did and customer service like that is what sets a place apart from others. I ordered the taco salad and it was DELICIOUS. The sausage was unlike any I have found in the stores, tender, juicy and flavorful.....then the Blueberry Pancakes were covered in whipped butter which then, DIDN'T REALLY NEED ANY SYRUP. The breakfast are SOOO good, I don't want to try any other of the other lunch or dinner menus items. We make a special trip to Crestline just to visit the T.T. Cafe. OMG worst food ever. I have been to The Top Town Cafe numerous times but this trip was the worst. I will never go back. Ordered a beef dip and pastrami dip with a bowl of soup to go. The bowl of soup was a total rip off for 8 dollars and change we got a small Styrofoam cup not even close to be worth the money we paid . The sandwiches were on a stale roll and a complete mess. First time visiting since the change of ownership. Very friendly and helpful. Ambience needs some work; some windows and walls not decorated. Hopefully, they will get a better menu system; ours were wrinkled and stained. Many of the same foods as the previous owners. We tried the chicken fried steak dinner with mashed potatoes and corn; delicious but the steak seemed like a frozen patty (not crispy). Also the Rueben with seasoned curly fries; very tasty but the meat was more like ham than pastrami with too much gristle. Chips and salsa similar to before. You have to try the lemon pepper chicken dinner, my favorite dinner item. For breakfast, I prefer the huge ham steak meal. The steak is bigger than the plate. Pancakes are delicious and fluffy with warm syrup and a generous portion of butter on top. The albóndiga soup is so flavorful. This place may not have white linens or all luxurious but the food is absolutely delicious. If you want a cosy ambiance with amazing staff that always greets you with a smile, try this restaurant. Since the location has changed owners, I'm very disappointed. Primarily due to the fact that there is no alcohol served. The only thing I come back for is to see my friendly waitress that has stuck around since the change. I probably won't be back till they get their alcohol license....
