Zach went in to ask if we could eat inside with Coco and they said yes! In my head I was already giving them 5 stars for allowing us inside with Coco. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. We didn't even need to ask for a water bowl for Coco since they got brought right away. Here's what we got: - Pupu platter (share) - Huli huli chicken (mine) - Mushroom ravioli (his) - Ube cheesecake (dessert to share) The pupu platter was very good. The fried pieces weren't TOO fried thankfully. They were perfectly crunchy and hot. The huli huli chicken was very tender. The mango bits contrasted well with the chicken and the veggies. The ravioli was really good too and they give you a lot. The ube cheesecake was delicious. It wasn't too sweet and even Zach liked it and he doesn't like to eat dessert ever. It had the texture of fish jerky. The zucchini alongside it was cold and had the unmistakable texture of previously frozen vegetables. My son ordered the mahi-mahi tacos. They were bland, dry, and overcooked. He's the least picky eater in our family and wouldn't eat them. Ironically, the only edible dish on the table was my husband's Huli Huli chicken--which the rest of us ended up sharing because we'd waited so long and were starving. Our server was kind, but we saw her only a handful of times during what became a two-and-a-half-hour dinner. To make matters worse, I woke up in the middle of the night with an upset stomach after eating only a couple bites of the fish. Given our experience, I genuinely struggle to reconcile it with so many glowing reviews. Save yourself the time, the money, and the frustration. There are far better places to spend an evening.

Unfortunately, that was a mistake. First, I want to make something VERY clear: our waitress, Sam, was fantastic. She was extremely nice, friendly, attentive, and treated my family great. My one star has absolutely nothing to do with her. If I were rating Sam, she'd get five stars. The FOOD, however, was horrible. My fish and chips were probably the only halfway decent thing at the table. I also ordered two margaritas. They were extremely small and, for what you're paying, nothing special whatsoever. But my daughter's cheeseburger was what really did it for me. My daughter is 15, blind, and an extremely picky eater, so we intentionally order her food as simple as possible: bun, meat, cheese, and Thousand Island. That's it. We're talking about a basic cheeseburger. What came out looked terrible. The bun was extremely dry and there was hardly any Thousand Island on it. I asked another waiter for a side of Thousand Island, and he brought me a little cup of some watery brownish-orange liquid. I honestly don't know what it was supposed to be. It had the consistency of water and looked nothing like any Thousand Island dressing I've ever seen. My daughter took ONE tiny bite of her burger and immediately wanted nothing more to do with it. I don't blame her. We pushed the basically untouched burger to the edge of the table and told our waitress we didn't want it. Then we were told they'd take about TWO DOLLARS off the bill because she didn't like her $20+ burger. Seriously? My wife's patty melt wasn't any better. It was overcooked, the bread was extremely hard, and overall it was just bad. For the prices this restaurant charges, the quality of the food was completely unacceptable. Being in a beautiful location overlooking Lake Arrowhead doesn't make up for serving terrible food at tourist prices. Again, Sam was awesome. I actually feel bad leaving one star because she did such a good job, but I'm reviewing the restaurant and the food we paid for, not just our waitress. We will absolutely NEVER eat here again. There are plenty of other places to spend your money at Lake Arrowhead Village. I strongly suggest choosing one of them.
