As an owner of any establishment, service, service, service is top priority to your customers. This was not the case. Midean's demeanor was short and annoyed. Mind you, restaurant hour closes at 8:00 pm. However, the bar closes at 9:00 pm. Towards the end of our dinner, it felt hurried. Additionally, staff never complimented a dessert with a candle and a birthday song. But Alan offered to box our leftovers. Jerry, the husband owner was nice. But we know who wears the pants - the mean old lady. Menu prices in other upscale restaurants, server offers these services. Next day, my mediocre, less than 6 pieces of clam linguini was not packed. Went into town to grab a bite to eat before heading down the mountain. Keep in mind, Corkage fee per bottle here is $30 per bottle. Typically, elsewhere is $15-20. Beware. Upon discovering my clam linguini was not packed, My friend who graciously paid the $600+ bill called and spoke to Midean ( elderly owner lady); again, the owner was super defensive and pushed the responsibility on us for not packing the leftovers ourselves. Polite response from my friend to Midean, "your server Alan offered to pack our leftovers," shifting the responsibility back to the restaurant. When asked if my food could be replaced, a rude response was a stern no, it's not our fault! I asked how will you address this incident to your staff? She said, " Will tell server never to offer packing leftovers to customers." Furthermore, she told us to never come back. Wowzer - indeed, we will be taking our business elsewhere and warn others not to experience your rudeness.

The bartenders clearly know their craft, and the drink presentation was outstanding. Service was good, although not especially memorable, which is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. One thing that would make the experience even more immersive would be if the entire staff wore cowboy attire to match the Old West theme. With the speakeasy setting and vintage decor, it would add a fun touch and make the experience feel even more authentic. Overall, Twain Speakeasy offers excellent cocktails, good music, and a unique atmosphere. The tri-tip was also solid, and cooked to medium as it should be. The wedding coordinator Katie, who came included with the venue, was amazing! My cousin, the bride, kept saying how great Katie was, and how helpful she was during the process. My cousin frequently remarked, "we trust her so much", which is great. Also, as a first time wedding officiant, she really made it easy for me. Also, Morgan the DJ, another venue provided vendor, was great to work with. The venue is on the second floor, which can be a challenge or an absolute deal breaker for some. They do have a chair lift though, which several of our attendees used to get upstairs. Parking could be a challenge, as the venue is located in historic downtown Redlands. According to my cousin, parking at the CVS was allowed, but I'd double check with the venue. The founders and co-owners of Stowaway, Leonard Chan and Dominic Iapello, created this extension to the tiki bar with a wildly interesting Pinocchio theme and the famed encounter with Monstro the whale all the while serving the same offerings in Stowaway but with also an exclusive limited menu just for this adventure. With its proximity to Disneyland and its Enchanted Tiki Room, with the very niche underground-like society of tiki culture they found a consistent customer base and the thrill of island escapism through colorful cocktails, pleasurable pupus, tropical trimmings, and nostalgic know-how. How would my belly handle the beastly drinks concocted here!? PURCHASE(S) Gepetto's Last Words ($16.00): Intrigued by the cocktail's name, this elixir was crafted with Fid Street Gin, tangerine, creme de violette, lemon, and cucumber, it was a citrusy refreshing sweet drink that was decorated with bright yellow petals. It was nice, but for whatever reason it just didn't quite hit the spot. [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 4.0 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings ($9.00): A decent portion with rings of medium to large sizes, these were hot, dark golden browned, crunchy, and had a slight tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (sweet Maui!) rarely pulled out at times. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE "Hidden" inside Stowaway which was located within a strip mall, the entire theme was based on the Pinocchio story, the interlude in time spent inside Monstro, and as we entered it felt like the beginning of the Disneyland "Storybook" ride as you road a canal boat into the mouth and sharp teet of a whale. There were several marionettes (appropriate and non-appropriate) that hung from the ceiling and belly walls, along with other Disneyesque memorabilia, a few sitting booths, and a tiny bar at the end of the roo. No natural lighting whatsoever while an assortment of extremely low-lit electric lights and table candles glowed. There were no TVs while I couldn't recall any background music. ATTIRE Although I was actually dressed appropriately for the occasion in an aloha shirt, linen pants, and flip-flops, this place was totally casual, so a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops would suffice. OVERALL Belly Of The Beast was an adventurous fun evening with friends, it left me feeling childlike with the need to watch "Pinocchio", and I couldn't wait to return to try more of their awesome-soundling elixirs. I generally loved all-things Disneyana, and this new wrinkle, albeit probably not approved by the mouse ears brass, caught my fancy. My one drink was tasty but just didn't hit the right spot, the onion rings were very good, the prices were a tad elevated, the atmosphere was awesome, and the service was friendly and professional. Walking through the 80s bar it gives off very clubby and busy vibes so it was hard to imagine a speakeasy at the end of it. I was actually shocked upon entrance and really impressed with the detail and ambiance. It is a small space and keep in mind you may share a table with another group if necessary. The drinks were actually phenomenal. On the pricier end of $22 and up but we're so good. I loved the horror theme play on the cocktail names! The candy man was delicious and my favorite. The Lester drink came in a light bulb with an edible flower and that was definitely an experience! My hubby loved the Samara which was a delicious espresso. I wish I could have tried more cocktails but our timed seating was up (90minutes). Overall, I was a bit worried with all the poor reviews but we had a good time and definitely got you into the spooky season spirit! The staff was also very kind.
