A good hole-in-the-wall family restaurant. Came in with hubs, my two boys and my cousin. I ordered chicken enchiladas since it said they were famous for enchiladas. They did not disappoint! I even ate my leftovers later. I also ordered the albondigas, which really hit the spot after a long day and before a long drive home. Hubs said his burger was cooked and seasoned really well. You can self seat once you enter the restaurant. They had a lot of seating and not a fancy place, but nice and clean. The staff is friendly and service was great. I was so pleasantly surprised by this place! Had some time to kill and stopped in for a quick bite. I got nervous I was walking into the kitchen when I first opened the door, but it's just that kind of local, hole-in-the wall atmosphere; I was greeted immediately and told I was welcome to seat myself. My server was absolutely amazing! They have a decent menu, but I ended up getting an "a la carte" chicken tamale and a Pacifico. The tamale was actually wonderful (I added the table salsa to it because the salsa was good, too) and my 24oz. Pacifico can came with a lime, which I appreciate. Driving up the summit the fine afternoon 11/27/2025, I saw "BEST BURGERS ON THE MOUNTAIN" sign. I pulled into the driveway and went inside to a cozy restaurant setting. The menu prices are very reasonable. Cost effective dining experience. The service is definitely top notch and lovely. I personally ordered Philly Steak Burger with side of fries. Perfectly seasoned with the works plus the patty is thick and juicy, and the fries are so delicious! I would definitely recommend coming here if you're craving a good burger! Tore into it and forgot to take a photo before I did so. The burrito was the size of my face. It was great. As good as the food is, be prepared to wait a little while for it. Amazing Chile Rellenos!!! Damn, I'm craving one now. The Basura burrito is a life changer, for better or worse. We have NO REGRETS! Just for the sheer size alone and comedic aspect (it had us rollin all night whenever we'd glance over and realize we still had to finish it). This entree made our trip extremely memorable. I came here around 10am to order some food. I wasn't able to get a hold of anyone on the phone prior though. My husband and I were craving some burgers for breakfast (haha), and I was happy that it was being served in the AM. We got our food to-go, and we enjoyed our meal. The burgers had a thick patty and fresh veggies w/ thousand island. The onion rings were good, but a little too crunchy. The fries were good but got a soggy on the drive home. Stopped by here while on a weekend stay in Running Springs across the road and after having not been here for a couple years, it was still great! We ordered the nachos, menudo, teriyaki mushroom burger, and the fish and chips. Everything tasted great, our waitress was awesome, and overall it was just a great visit. Definitely worth a stop. Good breakfast or lunch - American and Mexican. Note that Neo's is no longer on any sign or menu. Also note that when they get slammed, you have a potential long wait ahead of you. We got there after the place filled, and chose to wait. We thought it would be much shorter than it was. The reality is that there's three people working very hard, the menu is huge, and they do have a take-out business, too. So... time it right if you can. Jose, the main person we worked with here, is a fun-loving, personable man. He kept his cool despite all that was going on here. Granted, there was a recent snowstorm, so some places are closed. Plus, it's the Holidays, there's Covid....many extra curricular elements at play. And yes, there may be a few supply glitches along the way (they didn't have carne asada proper, but they made do with chopped carne asada meat). When all is said and done, however, our food was very good. Again, there is a vast selection on their menu, but we were happy with the carne asada plate (with rice, refried beans, a dollop of guac, with flavorful tortillas). Also, the breakfast burrito - stuffed with meats and cheese and potatoes. Yes, they have beers and a variety of sodas. The parking lot can be tight, especially when some folks don't stay in one space. Bathroom for those making purchases. We stopped in their parking lot when my son got car sick on the twisty mountain road. They let us stay as long as we needed, and were incredibly kind. On our next trip up the mountain, we stopped there on purpose - they are still just as lovely, and their french fries as just as good as we remembered. I stopped by this spot during my vacation. I had ate pizza for the two days and was craving something else. Our waitress was quick to take our drink/food order. My son ordered asada tacos and fries, while i ordered the two soft tacos meal. My son loved his tacos, but wasn't the biggest fan of the fries. They were a bit on the greasier side. I enjoyed my food, minus whatever sauce they used on the tacos because it lacked some flavor to me. They double the tortillas, which makes me feel wasteful because I don't like don't like my tacos like that, but the meat itself was good. My four stars for this place was mainly based on the service here. Outside of the quick drink/food order, our waitress didn't pay us much attention. I noticed everyone had been brought out chips and salsa while they waited for their food. It's not a big place and when we walked in, there was only one other family seated..the five other tables after us were brough them without asking. I finally asked because it was my first full meal of the day and I was really hungry. After that, my son had to get her attention to get the box and bill, as she walked right by us several times without checking in. Even having the bill picked up to be paid took some time.
