Locals favorite hidden gem! Awesome huge burgers, malts and excellent service. One of my favorite places in Lake Arrowhead

A greasy spoon diner with 20 burgers on the menu, chili, and sandwiches with an extensive shake and malt menu. Prices were great and parking was easy. They take cards.

Great quality char-broiled burger with hearty and fresh ingredients. Satisfied my burger cravings. Cookies and cream malt shake was dessert in a glass. Love the old school diner vibes. Sparse parking!!

Stumbled upon this diner on Yelp and made sure to stop in when we were in town last weekend. Definitely felt like I stepped back in time when entering - greeted by friendly faces and the food & shakes are delicious!!! Hubby & I shared the Impala burger and this was sooo good - it had bacon, cheddar cheese, onion rings & BBQ sauce. This burger is perfection - drooling now just thinking about. The cheese pulls were insane. Fries were piping hot and so fresh. Ordered our kiddos a cheeseburger, Mac & cheese and strawberry shake and every single one of those were as delicious as the next! Our kids LOVED the cardboard cars that the food came in so much that we brought them home with us & now a part of our interior decoration . All in all, everything here is so good, fresh and the will definitely be back again soon for another shake!!!

This place was so cool! It's an oldies style diner that was just super cute! My family came twice during our stay in Lake Arrowhead. Once we came solely for dessert, and they did not disappoint!!! The ice cream sundae was so yummy and I loved the way it was presented!! The second time we came for dinner, and let me just say that the burgers here are huge oh my goodness!!! They were very tasty and felt like a good quality burger!! The service was nice and friendly, and interior was clean. It's a small spot, they have a small bar sitting area and sort of limited seating. Parking is limited and tight- just something to keep in mind if you go during dinner time!

If you're looking for a good burger and fries. .this is the spot. Fresh, flavorful and juicy burgers. Ordering over the phone was easy, receiver was professional and friendly. Loved the theme of the restaurant, everything was clean, and prices are reasonable.

First time here, will I come back? Hard NO. The one guy who sat us was actually welcoming. I ordered the impala (bacon, cheeseburger with onion rings) and fries I ordered extra crispy. Burger was dry, and the fries? I mean, let's just call them thin, hard potato chip fries? They we extra extra crispy that I couldn't taste the Potato part! Oh and The soda was flat and warm! I even got a different drink the second time and still flat smh. Still left a 20% tip and as we left, I said thanks have a good day! & I think I heard the girls mumble a bye smh idk maybe their reviews are off of their desserts because it sure wasn't the food.

The Cedar Glen Malt Shop is a great place to have a burger, shake, or sundae while visiting this mountain community adjacent to Lake Arrowhead proper. Prices are in line with similar establishments in the area, and the shop's hours are better (since most of their nearby competitors close several hours earlier). Although I haven't had a full meal there in years, they primarily serve a variety of burgers (cleverly named in homage to their 50s automotive theme) along with the usual sides complementing such eating fair. Several burger orders passed by my table while waiting for my sundae, and I must confess that I came very close to "chasing" my dessert with a burger after seeing how juicy and generously topped they were! Be aware, however, that the physical building is small, so you may need to wait for seating or elect to belly-up to the stools along the counter when near capacity. Seating a large party is, undoubtedly, extremely challenging. Similarly, parking is also problematic, with only a handful of small, narrow spaces in front (along Hook Creek Road). Suffice it to say, for most burger, shake, or sundae lovers this inconvenience does not come close to outweighing the reward of sinking your teeth into heaven-on-a-bun or voiding your Weight Watchers membership by indulging in a high-calorie frozen dessert of choice; for the few others who are unwilling to wait, take-out is an equally rewarding option.

I've been going there since 2002 and it's as good as ever. Food and malts are always amazing I always make it a point to go whenever I'm in the area. Nothing too fancy just great food.

Such a cute diner! Malts and shakes are addicting and the food is good too. I personally wouldn't order the chili cheese fries again because their regular fries are so good. Turkey burger was best I've had. Staff is very friendly! Parking is limited

Great filling food! The burger are unique, tasty and stacked with ingredients. Really enjoyed the cookies & cream milkshake with food, was my favorite item. The inside definitely has style with the booths having pictures of cars from the area. Service was good, punctual, attentive and hospitable. Would definitely go again.

Points for cute place, yummy ice cream and great service. Minus points for my extra crispy fries and onion rings. They were to almost burnt. It had that almost burnt flavor. Burger was good but the fries and onion rings really disappointed my dinner. Luckily ice cream made up for it.

Small but mighty! Cedar Glen's Malt Shop is located right off the side of the road, you might miss it if you aren't looking for it. Parking is tight, you have to pull in to one of maybe 7 spaces located right out front, and the road can get busy. The diner is retro themed with Elvis and Marilyn Monroe greeting you on your way to the bathroom. There's about 6 booths in total, a few tables near the door and several seats at a bar - all in all very small! We enjoyed a few roadside burgers on our way into town, there was only one cashier who was also the waitress and busser - she was very polite and efficient. We enjoyed our lunch, glad we stopped in for the experience, not sure it's a place we'd return to if back in town - but we found it worth the stop in, there's not many diners like this now days, so it's always nice to feel nostalgic.

Our hostess was wearing a very cute Christmas hat, and she said she wanted to spread the holiday spirit! Our waitress was the sweetest ever; she was very helpful with our orders and even laughed at one of our funny interactions haha Everything tasted perfect! We shared the Kalua pork bowl and the Beachfire burger. The pork was extremely soft and tender, the coconut rice was fragrant, and the coleslaw was refreshing. The beef patty was cooked exactly to our liking, and my friend devoured the macaroni salad he chose as the side. The non-alcoholic Thai iced teas were delicious and innovative, we've never tried it with orange slices but it works so well! We did notice the drinks were about 80% ice though... I met the nicest, happiest woman in the restroom, and she recommended the sticky wings!! And the table next to us kept ordering more food (seriously, the menu was amazing) which they laughed about with their waiter LOL The decor was festive and inviting. They have touch-activated ambient mood lamps on each table and a fireplace playing on a screen (or was it real?) Highly recommend!

I think it took 10 minutes to get water, 10 minutes to find someone to get our order in, and then 20-30 minutes until our food came out. Definitely a very slow paced restaurant - come if you're not in a hurry and in a chill mood. We actually came here because all the other restaurants we wanted to try had a 2+ hour long wait and Sunsets was only about 30 minutes. You can walk around the village while you wait, which helps a lot.

Stopped in from West LA for a late dinner during this most recent Valentine's Day & President's Day…read morelong weekend and it was honestly better than we were expecting. It's located on the ground floor of an Inn of the same name. It has an old timey, alpine look to it which really adds to the ambiance. They have a full bar, as well as booths, tables, and covered patio seating. It's pretty large inside so can host large groups as well. Our server was very sweet and all of our items arrived quickly. They don't have a very large menu, but it does have a lot of great options on it, especially for over 5000 feet above sea level. I chose one of the specials for the night which was the Black Cod. It was honestly great, cooked perfectly, and a fair portion. I enjoyed every part of it and would recommend. I also started off with the French Onion Soup and that too was great, it was a bit saltier than most versions I have back home, but still I liked it. We also ordered the Cobb Salad which was generous in portions, and we both really liked it. I was not a very big fan of the French Fries, that was the only downside of the meal. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for dinner when visiting Lake Arrowhead, especially for anyone looking for a great place for a date.

I see quite a few 5 stars/4 some 3, now to start with, I was told about this restaurant from a lady…read moreat front desk where I was staying and also made reservations ahead of time before going to Lake Arrowhead since this was going to be for Thanksgiving Dinner ONLY. I had tried another restaurant in the past, but wanted something different. Also, let's face it, around Lake Arrowhead only, there aren't many restaurants to choose from. The rest is all fast food. I was coming from a couple of hours away and obviously wanted to make sure I had a place to have Thanksgiving dinner. Therefore, as far as rating this restaurant for its regular food, I can't do that because I went for Thanksgiving dinner only. My experience as sadly as it is to say was literally the worst I've ever had, not been mean even if it sounds that way, but it is a true statement and it doesn't make me happy to say it, but reality hurts sometimes. We walked in and I can only say, it wasn't what I would normally agree to go to, not terrible but not impressive either. Casual for sure, boots and a cowboy hat if you have it, will do the trick. We were seated right next to the bar, this is NOT a huge place to begin with, so the noise from the bar was not pleasant to begin with. We sat down and a waiter came over, he was nice at first, the menus were not given out because it was strictly Thanksgiving dinner and the copy paper already waiting for you on the table pretty much told you what you were getting. Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey/ham combo or only turkey with all its trimming that you normally eat on Thanksgiving, which it was easy to order obviously, didn't make the waiter sweat either. We told him combo for both of us. I am not kidding when I tell you that not even 5 minutes later, the dishes came to our table. I was still taking my jacket off. I get it that everything had to be ready to go and prepared to make it fast and all, but that immediately turned me off. The food itself aside from being cold, not one thing on that plate was even warm, the presentation was absolutely awful, I still say and believe that had I gone to Dennys, they probably would have done a much better job and not charge $40 dollars a plate and already added 20% tip to it either. The food literally looked nothing like you would expect from a restaurant like this. It wasn't a dump!!! It wasn't attractive to me, but it was a restaurant, nevertheless. That food was simply disgusting. The plate came filled with everything that looked store bought from their not even market but like a 7/11 in the city. Filled with disgusting and totally salty gravy, not homemade of course, and it was which it wasn't, the chef or cook had a lot of fun with the salt or dropped it in it by mistake, that's how salty it was. The mashed potatoes awful, cold, not soft, have no idea what was in it, came in a made round ball, by the way everything on one plate, ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, a tiny bit of greens, wherever those two tiny balls of orange things were, a tiny bit of cranberry in a tiny plastic container, a small piece of bread. All just thrown on this plate that honestly made me sick to even look at it. Been Thanksgiving and all, we waited to eat knowing it was going to be quite a bit of food, so we were hungry. My girlfriend literally couldn't eat it. She had a bit of the turkey while trying to find it underneath all that disgusting gravy and she said that it was the only thing that tasted ok, the ham was just as bad as the rest of the stuff on top of it. She literally had three bites of it, that was it. I had more because I was hungry and there was no other place to go unless we wanted to go to McDonald which after that meal, would have been a much better choice and a lot cheaper. My girlfriend had no dinner basically and I had what I was able to eat, but it was just bad. To top it off, came the pie. Now, my girlfriend loves pumpkin pie, I do as well, she makes the best pie from scratch. Two pumpkin pies came. Again, what on earth were those pies, we still discussing it, how can you go wrong with pumpkin pies, well, this place managed to do so. We even asked them what on earth these pies were and the waiter simply said "it's pumpkin pie", no it's not we clearly said back, but he just kept saying it was and that was it. We both couldn't eat it and left it. No one ever came around through our dinner to ask if everything was ok, no one asked us if we needed more to drink, nothing. $115 dollars. The tip was already included as I mentioned that it clearly said on the menu at the end of it that 20% was going to be included. This dinner was worth and only if you were totally desperate, $10 dollars a plate MAX. The waiter did not deserve his tip as he did nothing for it, the only time we saw him was of course to bring us the check. Worst experience ever, never again at this place, I don't even think I would take a chance on their regular menu after this.
