We came here after our mini vacay from Crestline. It's the best of the mountains: cozy, friendly, warm, and delicious. They were accommodating to our daughter in wheelchair. Friendly staff and once we ordered food it came very quickly. I had a great turkey melt. My spouse had the veggie sub which was so so. Cute place. Music and decorations fit the diner vibe. This small restaurant in the Valley of Enchantment area of Crestline has now been reborn and is in in the hands of one of Crestline's well known and beloved waitresses who has now taken the jump into restaurant ownership. She has put her many years of experience into very good use. This is a small building with very limited parking out front, but there is plenty more space across the street just to the west of the post office. Once inside, you will see historic and retro decor fitting of the mountain location. The service is as good and friendly as one could want. The food at this time is standard diner fare, but cooked to perfection with good quality ingredients. At this very early stage, it is only open for breakfast and lunch, but being open until 8 PM will be coming in the future. Also at this time, payment is cash only, but that should be ending soon once the payment machine is approved and delivered. There are a lot of choices in the San Bernardino Mountains for diner-style fare. Even though a bit out of the way, Heart Rock Diner has already jumped to the top of my list here in Crestline. read more

If you haven't visited the Heart Rock Diner. Please do! We are going weekly, the sandwiches are the best I've had. The beef and pastrami are high quality, thinly shaved deli meats. I'm always hesitant to try those types because of fatty content, but this is great quality deli meats with no fat strings. The club sandwich was great too! The breakfasts are delicious and the prices are very affordable, especially for today's market. Such a great place! They do it right! read more

We've been coming up to the mountains for years and Villager Coffee Shop in Blue Jay was always our go to spot for breakfast. We were surprised to see that they had closed. But we were pleased to find Heart Rock Diner. We sat on the outside patio with our large dog. It was very comfortable. The inside looked great too. A true diner with 60's music playing. The food was fresh & delicious. Very much looking forward to going back for a chocolate malt, a piece of homemade pie, or another satisfying meal. read more

This facility has gone through many owners with many plants on what a Cafe is. Most were just average some bad. Now I think it has the right person who understands what a great cafe is all about! Brie has been working and managing cafes around the area for years. She knows how to make you feel like family. The interior has been scrubbed spotless clean, there are pictures of the town from many decades, and of course there is the food! The food is good, no great ! Good portions well cooked and at a reasonable price! Brie is the classic dinner Hostess who calls you hun or remembers your name! They'll be adding seasonal syrups soon, which I can't wait to try. The owner is always checking in, asking what can be improved, and takes feedback really well. Heart Rock Diner is tucked away in Crestline's Valley of Enchantment and is small, but it's definitely worth it for the standard breakfast and lunch offerings, as well as for a few dishes with a twist. To my knowledge, they are the only place on the mountain serving tater tots, both as a plain side and "loaded" (although I'm pretty sure other restaurants will soon follow). The proprietor is high-energy and friendly, with many of the customers having followed her through many years of her local restaurant career, but for mountain visitors there is a cheerfulness and warmth that is so often lacking from such places.
