I went to this salon with the intention of getting a Pedicure. After about 5 min into it I noticed the gal who was doing my pedi talking in Vietnamese language to the other workers. They came over to her and continued to talk looking at my foot. The gal doing my pedi started putting more pressure on my toe. I had felt her clip the skin too close. I asked it it was bleeding. They all three said no. I asked why was she holding my toe so hard. They said everything was ok. I then said please move your thumb off my toe. She resisted but finally did. Indeed there was blood. I asked then why they said it wasn't bleeding. They said there was not problem. At that point I got up to leave. I feel that they should have been honest about clipping the skin too closely instead of trying to hide it. I will not return. This salon is beyond deserving of these 5 stars. Super clean location with very comfortable chairs. A great place for relaxing while getting a mani and pedi. I love their their lavender spa pedicure the most. It is Ahhhmazing! The manicurists are always taking their time when working on your nails. They ask questions every now and then to make sure that you like what they are doing. They really make sure that everything looks great and to your liking. Super friendly and nice! I have been coming to this location for quite some time now, but it was not until recently I discovered that they use hard wax. I knew they offer waxing, but most nail salons typically use regular wax; however, I prefer hard wax. Nonetheless, with a busy schedule it helps to get everything done in one visit. Thao is who you need to see for ALL of your waxing needs. It is due to her attention to detail and her need for perfection, that makes her an incredible waxer. 16 months later, and I keep coming back for more! I've been to a couple nail salons in between, and I feel like I'm cheating every time. I've never left the other places satisfied because no one can do it better, or even come close to this place. All the techs have become my "usual" nail ladies, they all do such an amazing job. When cashing me out a different lady asked if I wanted someone to do it better without me saying anything, clearly knowing that it was not well done. Since that would have been awkward for me since the girl was right there and I just wanted to leave I asked if I could just pay $5.00. She said no because it was already in the system. That was a bold faced lie since they don't have any kind of computer software and just have a credit card processor. She then charged me four more dollars then I was told it would cost. I rarely write reviews but my experience today was horrible. I made an appointment on Monday for today (Friday). When I called I asked for an appointment at 11am, she asked if I could come in at 10am so I agreed. When I arrived this morning the lady at the desk asked me to wait for Amy. Then 15 minutes later another lady approached me saying since I don't have an appointment they have to accommodate the other customers who walked in after me. I explained that I had an appointment with Amy for a gel manicure but wanted to add tips since my nails broke. She said that Amy doesn't do acrylics, I explained that I just want tips and gel not acrylics. They then went on to gaslight me into thinking that I had an appointment tomorrow at 11am and pulled out their appointment book. I told them that they have mistaken me for someone else. She asked me to come back in an hour and I said I'll just go elsewhere. Amy then agreed to do my nails but they all proceeded to talk about me the entire appt. My coworker recommended me to Bebe, so I called to make an appt for Wednesday with Bebe. When I walk in for my appt, the head lady asked me what I want, I say I have an appt. As she's prepping my nails she asks me how I heard about them, I said my coworker recommended Bebe. She said "Oh, did you want Bebe? Because she's back there. You should have made an appt with Bebe." I said that I did make an appt with Bebe. She said oh she's with her 5:30 appt right now, do you want to wait? I see that the lady is just getting started and I assume they're all equally good at gel manis so I tell her it's fine. She is cleaning my cuticles and I was slightly bleeding on one nail and they didn't look good afterwards, they were frayed and peeling! She finishes my gel mani and as I go to pay the head lady notices my nails and tells the lady to fix them. The coat on 2 of my nails is thick and flowing over my cuticles, which I knew meant that they would peel sooner than 4 weeks! She tried to fix them and apologized. I am so disappointed, they totally disregarded my appointment time slot with Bebe then gave me a gel mani that lasted a week instead of 4 weeks as promised! This place is a hit or a miss. I live in Dublin and come here from time to time. I made an appointment because I know it can get busy there. When I called I specifically asked for Sue because she's done my nails before and I liked the way they turned out. When I told them I had an appointment I thought they would look at the books to see who with, but instead a different girl had me sit at her table. I didn't want to be rude and ask for Sue instead, so I just went along with who I had. I asked for a simple French nail with round tips, and even showed her a picture. She nodded yes as if she understood exactly what I wanted, but after she started to cut my nails and file I realized she was doing square. I asked her to change it to round which can be possible, but after you cut short nails into square you can't always fix them. She didn't speak to me the entire time. She also tended to walk away to get something without telling me. I don't know, it kind of just seemed rude and unprofessional. I will say that there are some people in the salon that are dream makers, but they're always hiring new girls that just don't meet the standards. I'm happy I got my nails done. This is by far..one of the two worst experiences ever!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! I had an appointment at 6 and wasn't seen until 6:30pm. Went in to have gel nails put in and Bebe left my acrylics on and gelled over them. 1 week later: Needless to say nails started lifting and looked disastrous. Went in and told the manager what happened and she said, "oh yea nails come off because acrylic and gel different formula and not good." Yea...no duh! Acrylic was removed and gel applied to real nails. I told tech. that my natural nails were thin and she said, "yea yea...we take care." I thought she would apply something to protect my real nails from tearing...but NO. Paid $33 for what!!!???? Not even a discount for screwing it up in the first place!!!! Left not happy as the white tip was sloppy and not even on the entire nail tip and the arm massage was a joke. She was pinching not massaging. One week later the gel started lifting AGAIN! Removed gel and am going to try Dublin Nail...hopefully it will work. Whoever said Mandara was great and that "all us girls" should support them. I found myself back in Danville visiting relatives for Christmas and needing a pedicure in the worst way. Having had a bad experience last summer at Blackhawk Nails, I decided to expand my Yelping to Dublin and found Mandara Nail Spa. They are located in the Hacienda Crossings shopping center which I frequented quite often last summer, only two doors down from Five Guys Burgers, yet I'd never noticed it tucked away back there. The first thing I noticed was a sign at the front desk stating that there was a $35 minimum on Visa and Master Card purchases, so be aware that you'll need to pay cash if you're purchases will not total that much. There are five pedicure chairs down each side of the salon and four at the rear, all of them equipped with massaging capabilities, for a total of twelve chairs. This meant no waiting, which was perfect for me. The salon is decorated simply with neutral tones on the walls and chairs which was very relaxing. There appeared to be six manicure stations, and a sign offered waxing services, too. The water was warm and the pedicurist was friendly and got right to work. I wasn't offered a menu of available services, so I assumed that the manis and pedis here are pretty basic. I'm accustomed to being offered various additional callous removal, mask, scrub, and various massage services for an additional cost. Well, I needn't have worried, she asked the most important question as we went along. "Would you like a sea salt scrub?" Everything else seemed to be included. Nancy gave me one of the best foot and leg massages I've ever had while getting a pedicure. She also did a great job working on the calluses on my heels. I'm a dancer who really should take better care of my feet. The calluses on my heels get so bad that they actually crack deep into my foot and hurt like crazy, necessitating regular pedicures. Nancy was very friendly and chatted with me all through the pedicure. She asked about my family and work and acted genuinely interested in my life. That's a nice change from the shops where the ladies chit chat to each other in Vietnamese and ignore the customers. I don't think I heard a word in another language the entire time I was in the shop. The bright red polish she applied to my toes still looks beautiful a week later and I get warm fuzzy feelings remembering my experience there. Thank you Mandara nail spa, you made me finally decide to sign up on YELP! It is difficult to find a good clean nail spa these days which is why I write this, to share my experiences with MANDARA. I am all about friendly service and these ladies DO NOT have any people skills at all! I am giving this nail shop a star only because I cant take the one star off otherwise, Mandara would have ZERO stars from me. I have friends who come here and say they love it but each time I come here, its alway the same attitude from them. I have given Mandara Nail Spa 3 chances to change my opinion about them and Each time I came to this nail spa, I walked in and didn't know who the receptionist was. I was standing at the counter trying to make eye contact with one of the nail techs. When one finally looked at me, thats it....they just looked. no words. So, I spoke first, asked about the price for a mani/pedi. No one even got up and approached the counter. The ladies are so rude and anti-social, they barely said 3 words to me. I got a manicure only the first time which was decent, and my friend and I got a pedicure the second time, which was also decent. But each time, the overall feeling was so uncomfortable because of how rude they are. but I was trying to be friendly and not just turn around and walk out. But, the third time I went to Mandara, I walked inside, it was like a ground hog day, same experience. I asked about getting a mani/pedi, and I kid you not, These ladies were still freaking(trying to say it nicely)RUDE! I went there today to get a manicure done. I told the lady by name Ro to change the towel as it looked dirty and used, she really got irritated and started rolling her eyes for everything. Did my nails really bad. She was behaving as if she was doing it for free. Bad attitude When I went to pay the lady at the counter took my card swiped and then asked me to pay in cash. The reception/ front desk is very rude when making or changing appts, I have had last minute things that have come up where I have to change my appt and she is so rude and makes me feel awful every time even though I have been a loyal customer. They also talk about you when you are there if you are late. Overall, their service has issues. Their pricing has also gone up. Mandara is in a good location with easy parking, and there's stuff to do if you need to wait, like get coffee or a bite to eat. It is also superbly clean and stocked full of luxurious spa chairs. It's a fairly new establishment, and it feels that way. The prices are also reasonable. Here's where they are lacking.... I had a bad experience upon checking out, which left me feeling awful and wanting to never return. The ladies who work there gave me a hard time about redeeming a gift certificate, even though it was purchased less than 6 months ago. Even though we settled the issue, it wasn't until after they threw a lot of head shaking and disapproving looks my way, which surprised me. And then, get this! My husband who purchased the gift certificate paid for tip in advance. (He wanted to make my visit easy where no money transaction was needed. So sweet of him!) But they also gave me snickers when I pointed out the tip was paid already. I only did that to be sure the tip was given to the woman who worked on me. It's true what they say: Customer Service is Key! And here, they lack in it, so I would not return. Oh, another big issue: they had THE smallest supply of nail polish I have seen in a nail salon. I usually see a wall of colors, but here, there was a rack or two. At first, I thought those racks were for purchases only because there were so few bottles. I had a hard time finding colors I wanted. For the first time, I actually had to look at bottles leftover on the manicure/pedicure stations for more colors! Hands down, my favorite place to get a mani/pedi. Great service for a decent price. Maybe a little more expensive than a normal nail salon at a strip mall, but definitely worth the few extra bucks. Staff is very friendly and professional. The salon is VERY clean, which is extremely important to me. Nothing more disgusting than walking into an unclean nail salon. I live about 25-30 minutes away from Mandara and have tried to find better nail salons closer to my house but always end up coming back to Mandara simply because the other salons don't even compare. read more

The employees smile, dont' seem to be talking crap about you, and it's clean and busy but not too busy. You won't find an asian lady walking around here looking for customers. I went in both first thing in the morning and in the late afternoon and they're constantly busy...but walk-ins are doable. Soon after my first review, Lynn left Mandara. I've been seeing Bebe ever since and she's wonderful. Great attention to detail, friendly and my gel mani remains in tact (3-3.5 wks) until my next appointment. Prices have increased and you have to spend a minimum of $35 in order to pay with a credit card. This is a hassle for someone like me who doesn't always get a French gel mani. You also can't leave tip on your credit card so be sure to have some cash on you. $33 full set gel mani $38 full set gel mani with French design Make an appointment to avoid a long wait. I've had to wait on some occasions even with an appointment so imagine how long walk-ins have to wait. I've also had a handful of mishaps with scheduling (ie. wrong date and time for appointments) but I am still giving them 5 stars because Bebe does a stellar job with my nails and designs. read more

I have been here twice when my regular spot is closed. (Bad timing I guess?) I really want to like this place as they do a good job, but each time I had an appointment they made me wait 20-30 minutes to start. If my appointment is at 7, I expect to wait no more than 10 minutes. In addition to that, they take forever. I would only suggest coming here if you have plenty of spare time because you will be here a while. I would highly recommend Kim for a pedicure as she gives a good massage. So I will explain my reason for the lack of five stars first. I received a gfift certificate here from a friend so I was excited to get my nails done. (it had been almost 8 months!). Upon completion of my nails the woman at the front insisted that I had gels done. I kept tellin her no I got acryllics. She kept insisitng no I didn't. There was a 12 dollar price difference. I finally just handed her the certificate and told her I wanted the rest to go to the girl who did my nails as a tip. She looks at me and has the balls to say, "you go tip yourself, this no count as tip." What a rip off! I am still fuming. They basically pocketed the 12 extra dollars my friend had paid and I was faced with having to tip on top of everything just in case the girl who did my nails didn't see that 12 dolars. Now on to the stars this place recieved from me. The girl who did my nails was amazing! I asked for pink and whites and she did a fantastic job. I asked for my cuticles to be taken care of because I really hadn't had a manicure in so long that they desperatly needed the extra attention. She took a full hour to finish my nails and I am still smiling about how fantastic they look. I am really sad about how terrible the customer service was because I would love to go back and have her do my fill but not at the expense of being cheated out of more money. The place was packed as well and had a strong overt chemical smell in the air that left me with a headache after I left. This is the first time after over 12 years of having my nails done that this has occured. They definately need better ventillation. Toes were looking shabby so I bolted as soon as daddy got home from work. Peace out suckers!! Walked in and friendly gal up front asked if she could help me, "Yes, I'd love a pedicure please" As I was soaking my tootsies and reading a mag, I notice another gal gathering the items for a manicure... well she just set me up for a manicure without me asking. Not sure if it was a miscommunication or if they have big cajones but I got a nice little chuckle and just went with it. My nails did look bad so why not? I also went with the salt scrub upgrade which was very nice. For mani/pedi and salt scrub it was $45. Worth it for super friendly service and great results. Great location close to me. Popped next door for a little sushi and headed home. I think I will spring for the fancy gel manicure next time. p.s. so my best friend LOVES this place and i was in town so we went for pedis. you walk in and you get a lot of happy hellos...and the place is nice inide. we looked for colors...which compared to my other places this was really limited. less than half of what i'm used to. after looking at colors we waited a pretty long time...like 15 minutes if not more i can deal with that for the most part since it happens when you are a walk-in (which we were...but i left my phone at home!!! ack!). chairs were comfy and i liked that they were able to move me up (shortie alert) by a press of a button instead of me having to force push the seat. lol we got the tangerine scrub (that was what was available at the time) and it was smell-a-licious! the downside was that she almost forgot to scrub my actual feet so i had to remind her. then s he scrubed the side of my pinkie so hard it hurt..and later found out actually broke skin. :( no buno. total came to $35. personally i pay $20 and get a bottle of water for the same thing and get hot stone for less. i will say the ladies here are very nice (nicer than mine as they talking crap lol - but for the price i could care less what they have to say as long as i can't understand them). would i go back? maybe...but bring my own color for sure. but if i had to choose i'd go to a spot back home. :*( NOTE: apparently they will take credit above a certain price (not sure what that is) and they don't let you tip out on credit either. read more

I was staying at the Hyatt walking distance from here and really needed a pedicure. I live in GA and I get pedicures for about $20 but is wasn't the price that ruined it. I felt they did a horrible job hardly any scrubbing or cleaning of my nails. She then quickly slapped on some polish. It pains me to write this review because Mandara has been my go-to nail spa for a few years now. It's large, clean, and doesn't smell. However, they took away their price sheets they used to have upfront, have no other pricing listed anywhere in the salon, seem to make up pricing when you go to pay, and worst of all, gouged me - a long time customer - the last time I went here with my daughter. I came in the day before the 4th of July holiday, so I expected it to be busy, and it was. Luckily, I planned for that and arrived right at opening at 10am with my daughter and we were one of the first people seated, which was great. However, our mani/pedis felt rushed since there was a huge back up shortly after opening and it seemed both girls were in a big hurry to finish us as soon as possible to get to the other women who had come in after us. So it definitely wasn't the most relaxing or thorough mani/pedi we have had there. My daughter's mani/pedi was done in HALF the time mine was and the lady was off to someone else. I could have lived with that, given the holiday, but when I went to pay, I was told the bill was $75 (before tip). I know an adult pedicure is $25, and they raised the price of their adult manicure to $17, from previous times I had gone in by myself, but combo they've always given me a "discount" at $40 for both services. That means they were charging $35 for my 5 yr old daughter's mani/pedi, that was HALF the time mine was, with no designs (extra $ for that). When I was paying, I asked how much a child's pedicure was. One of the ladies just said "$35 for your daughter" which didn't answer the question I asked. It seemed as if they just made up a price for her on the spot and decided she should be $5 less than me even though she's 5 yrs old and they spent 50% of their time on her. I felt gouged and taken advantage of and won't be returning. Discreet conversations among technicians... totally respecting and honoring the quiet time we often seek when relaxing and treating ourselves. All I was missing was a glass of champagne. It was just what I needed: -the alone time, -the mani and pedi, -the patience and accommodation in helping me narrow down the right color (trying each one until I decided), -the massage chair, -and the amazing massage of my arms and my legs- I WAS SO PAMPERED! Ok-so initially i gave them 2 stars because Toobah really messed up my acrylic nails. She did not take her time and did not diligently to do a good job and left me many many times and did not go through the proper process of doing my nails correctly. I got them done Friday and by Saturday they were chipping and all uneven. The gel coat on top had fallen off and the red paint was all uneven everywhere. So last night, Monday night, I went back to see if someone could fix them. Sue fixed them. She did an AMAZING job. She went the extra mile and made them look really clean and even looking. She was also very friendly. She was patient and very detailed. I would recommend her to get your nails done. Wish she would have done them in the first place. I hesitate to give 5 stars on my first ever Yelp review, but seriously- this place impressed me *that* much on my first visit. I've walked by this salon many times, but had never been in before, and since it was late on a Sunday afternoon, I figured I could probably get a pedicure without having to wait very long... There were about a half-dozen customers having pedis when I walked in, so I did wait a few moments to be greeted. While waiting, I had a quick look at their menu of services and noticed that if I wanted to use my credit card, I had to spend at least $35. The mani-pedi combo was $40, so I decided to go with that. Less than a minute later, I got a pleasant greeting and was invited to choose my color and have a seat in the waiting area. It wasn't long at all before I was making myself comfortable in one of their really awesome spa chairs. Was it my imagination or was that footrest actually heated? Either way, I would have been pretty happy just lounging in that chair for another 20 minutes or so. Anyway, I'll cut to the chase. There were 3 things that really impressed me about Mandara: 1) The staff - friendly, sweet, and funny. Thao and Nancy made me feel welcome and pampered, EXACTLY what I needed! 2) The quality of my mani-pedi. My feet and hands look and feel great! And despite the fact that I chose a pale color for my nails, they look perfect - not too sheer, not globbed on, and perfectly contoured to my now well groomed nails. 3) The ambiance. The salon is clean, bright, tastefully decorated, and doesn't seem to fill up with that "nail salon" odor, even when someone is getting acrylics done. Overall, I spent about an hour in the salon, and pretty much enjoyed every minute. I will definitely be back. Unfortunately, I'm going to have high expectations for my next visit, but I doubt I'll be dissappointed. read more
