I went in again to do a pedicure and give them a second shot and I'm glad I did !! The girl giving me a pedicure, Penny, did not speak a drop of English but she made sure everything was relaxing for me and worked on my toes until it was perfect. I'm usually a ticklish person but when she was massaging me, it felt so relaxing instead of uncomfortable, which how I usually am when I get foot massages. The price for my pedicure was $28 but I gave her a $10 tip because she was just so sweet and welcoming. I'd definitely come back for Penny, she's amazing !!!!! read more

I had a manicure and pedicure done. My manicure was perfect. Tony took his time and they look great. My pedicure was quick. The color I choose was really thick so they kept adding alcohol to thin it. Very nice salon but I was disappointed with the service. I will spare giving full details and just say what's important. The quality of my nails for the cost is simply unacceptable. I went to this salon just ONE week ago for a fill and I already have two broken nails one of which cracked just 4 days after getting them done. I work in an office and have to do very little besides type and the nails are very short so it is no reason why they should be breaking. As I got my nails done I watched the tech put a very thin layer of acrylic on my nails I already had trouble when I first got there so at this point I didn't want to keep complaining plus I was given a gift certificate so I was grateful to basically be getting my nails done for free. The shaping on my nails were very poor and I feel like she was rushing as the shop was soon to close and she had someone else's nails she had to do after me. I will never come back to this shop again because it is way to expensive to have such poor service. I still left the ladies who did my nails and feet a $5 tip each even though a tip should be based on being satisfied with the service but my heart wouldn't let me NOT leave a tip lol. Just a word of advice to the salon, pay better attention when doing a fill, make sure all nails are the same shape and size and place a proper amount of acrylic so that the nails are more durable. I feel like I wasted my time coming there and I now have to go get everything done all over again after just ONE week. I can't rave enough about this place! I have been going here for a few years now the service is amazing! Anytime I'm in a hurry they get me in and out, and my nails are perfect every time. I usually do shellac on my fingers, and it always lasts at least 2/3 weeks. As someone who works with their hands everyday, in and out of water constantly a great shellac mani was hard to find, but I've found it here! My pedicures with regular polish last far longer, I usually get one a month. Sue is usually who I go to for manicures, however I've had services from almost everyone here.. Thao, Stephanie, Thuba, Bebe, Nancy, Nicki etc. they are all amazing!! This is the BEST mani/pedi in the east Bay Area hands down! Highly recommend it! The girls remember practically everyone's name, no idea how they do it! They really take their time, and make you feel welcome. The only thing I would say is do not come here mid day expecting a fast service, they do NOT rush and because of the awesome location/people/reputation etc there is usually a short wait, but well worth it!! Huge selection of shellac colors!! Clean clean clean! The prices are reasonable for the quality of product and service. I will continue to come here as long as it exists. I came in for a pedi and I ended up picking pedi/mani. They really took their time to have both all my nails done. There was a big selection of OPI nails but most of them are reddish, pinkish and purplish color. There was very few adventurous, bright, new colors. However, when they asked me did I want sea salt for my foot/leg massage, they did not mention that there was an additional $5 cost. Yes $5 is not much but they should mention it. They just said "it would be better for your legs, it can get rid of dead cells." That was it. I just thought it was a bit dishonest. Also when I was paying for the service, there was no area/line on the receipt to put tips. I asked the lady and she said "do you have cash?". I said "yeah but let me check". Since I was charged $5 extra, I was unwilling to give a big tips, so I just gave $3. Then she looked at me really shocked and said "only $3 for the two of them?" I said "Yes". Then it went downhill, I left without being thanked. If they were more honest, I would have given $5 or even more for tips. But NO!! Even the massages are not as long as this place, I would go definitely go back to the nail place at Ulferts Center from now on. Wow. It looks like after two months of searching for "my" nail place in Dublin, I have found it. I was looking for a place that is clean (a must-have for me), does quality work, and is full of good people. I found that at Mandara Nail Spa, a new spot that opened in Hacienda Crossings in early December 2010. This place is immaculate, clean, and inviting. They have tons of space, comfy chairs, and top notch service. They are currently offering a $30 mani/pedi grand opening special - yes please! After chatting with them for a bit, I get the feeling that they are also willing to host parties and other events for reasonable rates. Between Sue and Ann's friendly service and impeccable job on my mani and pedi, I am officially hooked. Ann did a fabulous job with the gels for my mani. I have no doubt this mani will last the 3 weeks promised. This review would not be complete without a shout out to Sue's AMAZING foot and leg massage. I found it hard to not relax - a miracle if you know anything about me ;) Sue really took the time to make me feel great. Spring for the sea salt scrub. My skin has never felt softer! so i think this place is known for the gel manicures. I had one, and yes it lasts for 2 weeks. However your nails are not in good shape after. I've had 2 pedicures here and both have not held up very well. The edges of the nail are not painted over so it rubs off and looks chipped (although it's not, just not painted very well). Last time I was here I asked for them to pull the polish over the edge of the nail and I don't think they understood what I was saying. Next day I had the same issue with my pedicure not looking so fresh anymore. It's clean so they get stars for that. I keep coming back because they consistently do such an amazing job, but I will say the one downside is the wait. They take their time and pay attention to detail, but that can sometimes mean that you end up waiting in the lobby even if you had an appointment. I'm in love with this nail salon. I am a happy customer since September 2013, for more than a year now. I visit Mandara Nail Spa 2-3 times a month to do my nails and toes. They always do a great job. I've never left this place disappointed with the result. My gel manicure lasts for up to 3 weeks, no cracks or chipping. Girls are always very thorough and attentive to my needs. Few tips: 1. They are usually pretty busy on Friday evenings - it is better to call and make an appointment. 2. They do not accept credit cards for less than $35 transactions, so you need to pay cash or check. Visa or MasterCard for $35+ payments. 3. Tips are always cash only. 4. Gel manicure is $33 - any color, $38 for French tips. 5. Regular pedicure is $25 (and they do a great job for this money). 6. Thuba and Sue both do amazing manicure, seriously! I also enjoy Tu's and Vicky's work. 7. Kim is definitely my favourite for pedicure. 8. I haven't kept my nails up in college and when i moved back home and got a full time job I went looking for a nice nail spa. I happened upon Mandara and haven't left looking for any other spa. I have been going there every other week for nail maintenance. At first I had Amy doing the acrylics, but had some negative experiences with the quality. She is so sweet but I wouldn't recommend her for acrylics, this art belongs to Maria. Maria is a superb nail artist. She is a perfectionist, honest, and down right talented. I make all my appointments with her and even if there are others waiting she will kindly let them know I made an appointment with her. I do not really write reviews but I feel like this place deserves it and so do the sweet ladies working there! I am getting married next May and best believe they will get business from me and all the bridal party. As for cleanliness, they have an autoclave for all their equipment and as a medical professional, this is outstanding. I also witness the ladies diligently scrubbing the you-know-what out of the tubs. first of all: what the fuck. i've gone to this place a few times and for a while it was my go-to spot, until they upped their prices... a lot. i came back yesterday after several months of not doing my nails here. never again. i asked thuba for a tapered square french tip. she started doing them and i had to tell her a few times to adjust the shape because it was looking crooked and just now how she usually does them. by the time she was done i was so fed up and didn't feel like spending another hour in the chair waiting for her to fix them. she charged me 68 for a chunky, uneven french tip with only one coat of white. needless to say this was my last time coming here. read more

When I asked her to scrub my heels with more pressure she said it was an extra $10. The pumice bar they use is tiny she could barely grip it as she was "trying" to scrub my feet. Bebe is the only reason I've been coming to this place to have my nails done, every time she does an amazing job. But their prices are ridiculous. Today this place changed me $73 for a regular pedicure and a gel manicure with a simple paws design on two nails. With tips it turned to be almost $100! Was shocked to get this number at the counter. They used to change $3 extra per nail with a design. But today Sue stated "It's $15 extra"... For two nails with a simple paws design? When I started questioning the price, she couldn't clearly explain why, I asked how much they charge now for a single nail design as it used to be +3, and she started telling that it's more expensive on gel mani (I've always got gel mani here), after repeating again "how much?" she said $5, "why I'm changed $15 then?". She was very unclear and shady answering my questions. Also they never have a price list, it seems like they change every customer whatever amount they feel like. I came here on Valentine's Day. Compliments of my soon-to-be-hubby. He's the sweetest ever, I have to add. =) I got the shellac red polish manicure and red polish pedicure. Wanted to go red for V day. The spa is very clean and the ladies that work there are great. They don't speak in Vietnamese like most other nail salons do. I find that rude and so annoying. My favorite is when they are talking on their cell phone while doing your nails. Fun!! Kudos for multitasking but seriously? Very unprofessional. You have no idea what they are saying. Most likely they are talking crap about you but of course smiling while doing it. Back to this place, FYI, tips are are or check only. You can't add it to your card. I'm sorry to write this review, but I have to. Initially I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to get lovely Kim that works at Mandara Nail Spa in trouble, but now I have to because my toes are in pain... I got a pedicure, regular nail polish by Kim. She is very sweet, but she didn't do a great job with the nail paint - the very next day I had a big color crack on my big toe, and the tips of my toes were not sealed, (I could already see my natural nail color at the tips). A few of my toe nails were also not cut straight, but were crooked. I went back to the salon and asked if they can please put on a new color and make sure the tips are sealed. Kim graciously applied the new nail color. However, the very next day the next color started to peel off at the tips - she didn't seal the tips again. At that point, I simply made a decision not to go to that salon any more because the quality is just not where it should be. But now after a few days, I notice my big toes are hurting on the sides, because it seems that Kim cut the sides of my big toe nails, which is a huge no-no in pedicures. Toes are supposed to only be cut on top, not on the sides, or else the sides of the nails can start growing into the skin, possibly creating a HUGE problem later on, if the nail is not able to penetrate thru the skin. Most women will know what I'm talking about. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN IN A PROFESSIONAL SALON. They should NEVER cut the sides of toes nails. Now the sides of my big toes are swollen and are tender to touch. I hope and pray my nails grow out fine without any complications. This is why I had to write a review and warn people to make sure they watch their pedicurist at Mandara Nail to make sure they don't mess up their toes. Or simply go to a different salon. Personally, I'm going to try to find a new salon in the area. I hope Mandara Nail Spa reads this review and professionally trains their employees, and that this review might save someone from a painful and time wasting experience. read more

I love how everyone here is extremely nice. It is always clean and they really make an effort to make you feel comfortable, I've been to other places all over the bay area and my nails never last as long and they are always rough with my hands. When I get my shellac manicures here they NEVER chip and last 1.5 months before I have to come back in due the the hideous grow out. My advice is to anticipate that there will be needed extra time (even with appointment) because sometimes they are late, but that is because they are very busy!!
