We love Korean BBQ, so decided to check it out. This place is located in Manassas mall with an outdoor entrance as well. We went on a Sunday for lunch, so it wasn't packed and that's how we like it. Our waiter was so nice. He gave us a gadget to press a button whenever we needed him. I thought, "I need one of these at home." LOL. Anyways, this is an all you can eat restaurant, so we ordered a little at a time and our waiter cooked our food. We started with miso soup, kimchi and salad. Then we tried most of their sides, fried vegetable dumplings (crisp to perfection), corn cheese (the cheese pull on this), rose deokbokgi, kimbap, japchae (clear noodles). Now the cooking begins, we ordered fresh thin sliced pork belly twice. It was soooo good. If you want that crisp, you need to let them leave it a little longer. I know we ordered more meats like bulgogi, but I stopped taking notes. It was that good. Overall, the food was great. It was a little pricey, but you're getting a lot of food options. The restaurant is located near the mall entrance. They have 10 different side dishes to choose from. I chose Sliced Beef Brisket, Pork Belly, Marinated Pork Galbi to cook from the grill. I would not order the Grilled Shrimp since it was over-cooked. Even this js an AYCE style, the waitress actually cooked all the meats for me. This is my new favorite Korean BBQ spot!!! They have the all you can eat meat choice, and it's quality meat. They're making a lot of changes to their menu and even brought someone in from Seoul. The owners Marci and Eddie are very passionate about their restaurant and it truly shows. They have tons of great sides to pair with the meat. My favorites were the cheese corn, kimbap, and the fried potstickers. For meats my favorite was the Galbi, brisket, and or pork belly They amazing / delicious specialty drinks made in house that pair well with the beef. The best part is that it's non alcoholic and good for digestion. They're fermented drinks. I'd recommend trying to Jujube, Ube honey plum, or the Sujeongwa. My fiancé and I dined here after visiting the time mission across the hall. We are no strangers to Korean barbecue and absolutely love it ! I have eaten at the breakers in Fairfax before and didn't recall having a negative experience. However, we both agreed that this meal was subpar. Service was actually awesome, our waiter was very kind and extremely attentive but it's also because we were one of maybe 3 parties of 2 there. The restaurant was out of some options like the kimbimbap. The meat was lackluster and while the attempts to make it fancy like literal fancy salt passed with the brisket to sprinkle on top after cooking were meant to impress, it still somehow fell short. The bulgogi was very salty and ligamenty. This establishment does not appear to serve high quality cuts in the all you can eat. In this area where Korean barbecue is plentiful I cannot imagine ever picking this establishment again. While the bottomless sides were extremely appealing , something was just missing. Execution wasn't there. The venue has plenty of space and very clean bathrooms. Best Korean bbq my fiancée and I have had yet! The quality of the food here is top notch. They clearly care about what comes out of the kitchen. We ordered many different things including bulgogi, galbi steak, pork belly, and different types of chicken. The galbi was the best thing we ordered and they let you order it on its own if you don't want to pay for the upgraded AYCE option which is nice. The sides tree are also different and really good. They truly did want to stand out and it shows. The drinks here were also really delicious! They had so many traditional Korean beverages and I would say that you can't go wrong with any of them. But the yuzu one was very good. The service here was incredible! You wouldn't think it since it's in the mall but we were blown away at how much they cared. Marcie and Eddie are the owners of this place and they checked in on us multiple times. They also took time to explain the reasoning of why they chose certain dishes and what led them to make Breakers what it is. They flew in a chef from South Korea to lead the kitchen and bring traditional recipes. Mike was also an awesome waiter! He was fresh to the job still when we came yet was super knowledgeable and helpful. He helped cook when he came around. We told him not to worry as much about us because we frequent Korean BBQ places so we wanted him to be able to focus on helping those who are less knowledgeable with their cooking. I have been to many Korean BBQ restaurants in the NoVA region, but none of them have staff or ownership like Breakers. Marcie served our table that had a couple K-BBQ first timers, and she took us all under her wing for an incredibly personalized experience. She walked everyone through the process, introduced the different types of meats and side dishes, and told us about each of the different drinks on the menu (many of which she might have had a hand in creating!). She told us how the kimchi was made there and the sourcing for some of the items on the menu. She really went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. She made some special drinks, and even fried some kimchi and showed us how to make some mini wraps with the meat and some of the items on the table. The food was tasty and wonderful, and she couldn't have been any more kind and caring to our table - a rarity from my experiences at similar restaurants. Try this place out and ask for Marcie. As a Korean American who LOVES good Korean food, I am so happy this place is close to our house!! For starters, the service is extremely friendly and helpful. Good Korean food takes time when it's made from scratch, and their food is from scratch... even the eggs. We ate from their a la carte side and not AYCE. I really enjoyed the flavor of my seafood pancake, which was nice and thick. My LA Kalbi was soooo good!! Their marinade is delicious, and their meat is tenderized with real pears instead of just MSG and chemicals. You can taste how clean and fresh it is. The banchan side dishes were all so yummy and tasty! I was craving some really good Korean food made fresh, and this fit the bill! My kids got little kid boxes with beef bulgogi and rice with some sides. Steamed eggs are my favorite, and theirs is so good!!! It's not all watery like some places. If you're in a rush, then it's not ideal since it takes some time to make everything from scratch. However the food was really good and the service was great! Just happened to be around the area for my kids birthday painting festivities and the little guy decided that what he wanted for his birthday dinner never ending marinated meat...and our usual spot on this side of 66 for this was too hungry away so we took the leap. Wasn't expecting much just for biased reasons but this place checked all the right boxes and a few bonus boxes for extra credit. Ambiance was the typical kpop on the screens and cool ish on the walls but wasnt obnoxiously loud. We were the only party there the whole time but it was the tail end of Wednesday night, a welcome convenience for our party of 9 just trying to grub as soon as possible. Don't know if it was just slow but that service was top notch. Sides came out promptly after seating and they rolled deep with the variety. They took notice to what went fast and kept hitting you with more as soon as that plate went empty. Most side dishes were replenished at least 5 times with the favorites being brought back out in doubles since they disappeared so fast. Following suit was the meat order. We usually order the family favorites but our server took it upon himself to set us up with the first 3 meats that fired up within 5 minutes or the sides coming out. Had a chance to try the thin fatty brisket, bulgogi, thin and thick pork belly, and a few other options. Meat wasnt bland, it wasn't tough, and you didn't have to drown it sauce. Full bar and good pours didn't hurt either. Bang for buck box checked. I found myself in Manassas, which has a lot of chain restaurants. When I saw a Korean restaurant, I knew I had to give it a try. The restaurant is situated in a mall near the Macy's entrance. Beware navigation will take you to the Walmart side. The menu had bulgogi, chicken, and pork. When I saw hot stone bibimbap, my decision was made. They were able to add a fried egg on top with gochuchang on the side. It definitely hit the spot. The service was fantastic, as was the food. While I was waiting, they brought out banchan, which was freshly made. They have live music on Saturday from 6pm to 9pm. The food here is good - but the price is high for its limited selection. The service was fine, but it could've been better. When we sat down, we were brought a couple carafes of water and asked if we would like anything else to drink. Shortly after, we made our selection of meats, and they started cooking. It wasn't until the meat was done, did they bring out sauces for the meats. We had 4 adults and 3 children in our party, but they didn't bring out all the sauces completely, nor did they have enough for the 4 adults, and we had to ask for more servings of it as our 4th adult didn't have any. During our second round of meat selection, they told us that the restaurant ran out of rice, and we would have to wait for 20 minutes for rice to be ready. We were all pretty surprised about this, as it was a Korean BBQ restaurant and thought that rice was always available and a given. They also didn't change out the grills enough, which led to a lot of smoke, and it was bothering the kids. The quality of the meat was good and they had good flavor, but if I'm being truly honest, there are plenty of other Korean BBQ restaurants that we'd go to before going to them for $38/pp. read more

Got seated quickly for not having a reservation on Father's Day. It was a cute place inside the mall. But the wait to get even just water, was super long. Our waitress kept bringing out one thing at a time with long waits in between. We go rice first... 5 mins later we got salads... then 5 mins after that, she brought utensils. 5 mins after that we finally got water. More times passed and we got soup... the sides that normally come with any Korean bbq place never came out. And then she said we could only order one meat at a time (I've always been able to to get 2 at a time). After 40 mins of being seated the meat finally came. meat started cooking and every few mins someone was coming by turning down the heat of our grill. I was very irritated at this point because at any Korean bbq place I have always have had some sort of food to eat in front of me...so when the waitress came by to turn down our grill againnn I told her to stop doing it. At that point she said nothing and I think she was scared to speak to me so I saw her talking to a manager pointing at my table. The manager came by, I voiced my concerns and irritations and it seemed to speed up the process of bringing things out constantly after that. The food was good and the service was great after that but... I only got catered to after I voicing my irritation with everything... the manager was so very apologetic and but seemed like she was trying to buy a good review. I was only Compensated with a cupcake for dessert. My kids wanted ice cream and I thought mayyyybe it would be compensated due to the extremely apologetic owner/manager but I was also charged $11 for 2 ice creams still. I also asked for a military discount at the end, and she gave it only to me and not any other person (we are a family of 5). My husband also military could have shown his ID but at this point I just wanted to pay and get out. Maybe I should have asked for more compensation, I was very dissatisfied with the is place compared to alllll the other Korean bbq choices there are in the area. To top off my irritation, I was walking out and saw many of the other tables with all the little plates of sides that normally come with any Korean bbq dinner (pickled radish, kimchi, potatoe salad)... all which I never saw and didn't receive. This location is under new management, which may or may not be a good thing depending on what you expect. Previously, there was a salad bar along with the AYCE option, which I liked because I didn't have to keep ordering the banchan with the server (more on that later). Now, this is a very typical AYCE Korean BBQ place where they give you the banchan as side dishes. The issue is that they bring out one tiny side at a time. There were two of us and typically most BBQ place bring a serving for each person. This place brought us one tiny serving for the two of us, which we ate quickly, and felt silly having to keep ordering the same thing, over and over again. We had to ask for the miso soup and the sauces, which again, most places bring that out immediately. Luckily, it was VERY slow (i.e. we were the only table the entire time during lunch time) so the server kept coming over asking if we wanted more. But if it was just slightly busier it would have been much more annoying having to wait. The quality of the food was good, but honestly, not any better than most AYCE BBQ places in the area. The kimbap and pot stickers were really good though. The kimchi was not great. Here's the biggest issue: price. We came on a Tuesday for lunch and there is no lunch price. It's $35 a person for AYCE. Drinks are about $5-7. After tip and tax, we spent $100 for lunch for just the two of us. That's pretty ridiculous. Probably why we were the only people in the restaurant for lunch. The value of food vs. price was not worth it. To put it more in perspective, the Fair Oaks location which you would think would be more expensive, is actually $5 less than this one. On top of that, they were out of the one meat we wanted to try, miso pork belly. That's kind of unacceptable for an AYCE place and especially for that price. I can't recommend this place, at least not for lunch. Dinner maybe, but realistically, there are better options. I'd recommend Honeypig hot pot for lunch as they have a great salad bar option for much cheaper, and you can pair it with BBQ and still be less expensive than Breakers. Meat project in Centreville is also another great alternative. Heck, So is probably a better option for dinner as they cost about the same. It's a shame because the owners seem nice, just out of touch with the market in this area. read more

Sunday afternoon at 1pm and the place was empty. We walked in and no one came to seat us until I peaked into the kitchen. We were taking a chance trying out a Korean BBQ place in Manassas, when Centreville was only about 10 minutes east. But we had some business at the mall, so we decided to just give it a try. We ordered the two orders of sliced beef brisket and two orders of pork belly and the kimchi jjigae to share. It was a lot of food! The brisket in particular came out in a sizable serving bowl. We were a group of two adults, a senior, and two young boys. The quantity of brisket alone could have been nearly enough. Add the pork belly and stew, and we had a lot of leftovers. While the quantity was nice, the quality wasn't the best. There are other places nearby that give better cuts of meat. The kimchi jjigae was okay. It was too sweet and a bit dense. Not very traditional. Ban chan was hit or miss. They do have an AYCE option and I felt like they gave us the same cuts that they would serve with AYCE. read more

The service was personal. We went there on Veterans Day weekend and Breakers had a live music (saxophone musician). The owner came over and said we could not use our voucher and a first time Yelp discount, so they offered a discount for my next visit :) so we plan to go back when we're on that side of town. We didn't know that we had already ordered until we sat down and the server told us that our food was being prepared and would be out shortly. It felt like we sat there looking at each other without speaking for 30 seconds like we couldn't quite understand what we were told. The service was excellent! We had our server and 2 others to help us along. Partly because they have added a new sharing experience that we decided to try. Anjoo@Breakers designed for sharing with each option serving 2 people. Perfect, sign us up! Lololol.. We chose LA Galbi. A brisket soy fried rice with beef short ribs with no egg. It was unique. A new experience within a new experience. Brought to us on a table top grill! We were shown how it was typically served up so that we could serve ourselves. The food was really good and seasoned perfectly. I would have liked the ribs to be more tender but he said that they were fine for him. So there ya go lol. We also got bulgogi kimbap. It's a seaweed and rice roll with Korean beef BBQ and various veggies. That was awesome! They used pickled daikon radish, yay!! It came with 3 "sauces" only one we could partially identify as sesame oil based. Neither of us cared for that one. They were implementing a few new, I'm not sure what to call them, practices or serving enhancements?! The first one was we were given this round object about the circumference of a plum about 2" high that had 3 buttons; call, stop and pay. Again, with the staring at each other lol. He hit the call button twice and pay once and got no response. We asked the server what it was for. He said push the call button to let him know we needed something and he pointed to a box on the wall flashing "3" which was our table. We said OK and he walked away. When we needed him, this time we just did the normal thing and flagged him down. He brought us the bill in a box. I swear we must have looked like idiots to anyone who was watching us close enough lol because guess what? We're staring at each other again lol. I said what's in the box? Duh, I know, dumb question, but at this point we just have no idea what is going on! (Just so you know I'm laughing my butt off writing this review!!) So, there's a note..keep the pen in the box. Oh, OK.. There's the bill with a big QR code at the top with something about paying with it. He says I don't know how to use this. He puts the bill, his card and THE PEN in the box and pushes pay button. No one comes. The host, who had been helping us all along and must have known we were confused, stopped by to ask if we needed anything. Well.. We put everything in the box and pushed the button and nothing happened. He apologized saying they were still working out the bugs. Hooray!! We hadn't fallen into The Twilight Zone after all!! Whew! It was nice and quiet when we arrived for Mother's Day lunch. I think we beat the rush. The set menu was nice. I would have like a little bit more of the portions. They were a bit small for what I'm used to with Korean food. The space was nice and clean. The servers must be new because they had to keep going and checking on questions I had. There was a bit of confusion with the seating so we got moved to the "Mothers Day" section. The food was delicious however the desserts were frozen! They didn't prepare enough to thaw them out soon enough. The manager said to let them sit for 20 minutes but I don't think that would have done the job. They were good when I ate them later. My wife and I have been here multiple times since the restaurant opened and it's only gotten better each time. We've had both the lunch and dinner service and found it to be great. We love the variety of meats that they offer along with the salad bar and ready to make sides. They have these round pickled radish (think a small tortilla shape) at the salad bar that I love to grab and make tacos with the different meats. The kimchi, pickled spicy cucumbers, and chap chae noodles are my personal favorites but we have also tried the soup, rice, dumplings, and corn. It's all delicious. Come hungry. As for the service, we really like the personal touch and fact that Marcy, Muneya, and crew always take the time to greet us and suggest different items. On a whim, we were looking for local Korean barbecue. Typically our favorites are in Fairfax or in Leesburg, but we wanted to see if we could support something local where we live. We came to this restaurant and were immediately greeted by the owner, which we could already feel the Investment and passion behind the culture of this restaurant. Our service was taken care of by Abby and she was super sweet and very attentive. Although I am Bolivian and my husband is a Scottish/Mexican background we are really into different cultural foods and preferred to have them teach us and recommend how they would serve everything. Chef Halo did a great job of seasoning everything the right way and also Abby did an amazing job of recommending the temperature of the meats along with the pairings of sauces. They also were able to make everything so delicious that our picky two year-old ate the pork belly and brisket as if she was never going to eat another day. I am absolutely disgusted by the way my family was treated at this so-called Korean restaurant in Manassas. It was beyond disrespectful--an absolute disgrace. We came in as a family, including my 90-year-old disabled grandmother and two babies, expecting a simple, decent meal. Some of us weren't hungry, so we chose the regular dining option instead of the all-you-can-eat buffet. When we politely asked for more side dishes--something any decent Korean restaurant provides without issue--the manager outright refused and had the audacity to comment on how little we ordered, as if that determined our worth as customers. Never in my life have I felt so disrespected in front of my family. The judgment, the rudeness, the complete lack of hospitality--shame on them. A business in a diverse area should know better than to treat people this way. You don't judge people by what they order or how they look. Period. I will NEVER set foot in this place again. First time visiting Breakers. Location in the mall is easy to access from a side entrance and the restaurant is well sized. Nice ambiance, very open and clean. Came for lunch with a date and ordered from the lunch menu versus the all you can eat buffet. We ordered the calamari, beef bulgogi, and chicken bulgogi. It was good, but I've been to other Korean BBQ places that have had better quality. Service was good, though the waitress was soft spoken and had to ask questions a few time to understand how the service of menu vs buffet and the grill worked. They give you metal chopsticks, which was unique. The chopsticks were a bit heavy for my date though, and they don't have wooden chopsticks as an alternative. My daughter and I just got back from having lunch at Breakers Korean BBQ located in Manassas Mall and we had such a fantastic time! Our server, Marcie, was so fun and helpful explaining what things were and super fun trivia on the dishes and even the health benefits of eating either the kimchi or radish with the meat. She brought us 'tasting plates' for our sides instead of the standard two sides per order so that we got to try a variety of their delicious side dishes that otherwise we would have never known how good they are. My daughter and I ordered the the prime ribeye bulgogi and the pork golbi. Both were cooked at our table and both were fabulous. My daughter said that was the best pork she had ever eaten. The food here is delicious!! Be sure to order the Ube tea with your meal as well. My boyfriend and I came for lunch on a Monday afternoon. He ordered the a la carte Bulgogi iron special & I had the spicy chicken iron special. They recently changed their menu & the server had a bit of a hard time remembering what came with the meal, but once we reminded him it was a great experience. Our meals came with miso soup, rice, and kimchi/pickled cucumber/ pickled radish for the sides. Overall we really enjoyed our meals and would come back. We first ate here shortly after it opened And were really impressed, so we have been back a couple times for special occasions, and we will continue to come back. The food is great, the prices competitive, and the service has been excellent. If you haven't tried Korean BBQ, this experience is very close to the experience in South Korea. read more

Had an amazing dinner at Breakers Korean Barbeque. We are seated promptly, and we had David as our server. He took and served our drinks order right away. We opted to have our food cooked in the kitchen though but still had a great dinner. The steaks and pork belly were all tasty, tender and delicious. Same with the dumplings and side dishes. I am a huge fan of KBBQ so one day when I got a craving for some but couldn't leave the house I checked to see if I could get some delivered. I found Breakers and ordered their Bulgogi and Garlic Pork Belly. I wasn't sure what to expect since I usually dine in when ordering KBBQ but I was blown away when I received my order. Everything was packaged well, the food was delicious, and they even give you banchan + rice & salad so it was a well rounded meal. The delivery was so good that I knew I had to try dining in. I suggested Breakers to my friends and we had dinner there last night. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and unlike some other KBBQ places, they were not blaring music to the point we had to shout over each other to hear. We opted for the AYCE menu and tried a little bit of everything! They have so many side dish options, including purple rice which was new to me. We had rice cake, lettuce wraps, salad, and steamed egg. For meats we tried the steak, brisket, bulgogi, pork belly and shrimp. Everything was absolutely delicious! The service was great, they were so attentive and prompt. They checked in and made sure we had everything we needed refilled everything as we demolished the meal!
