Went here with my cousin an d friends last night .What a meal ! We were greeted at the door pleasantly .The ambulance is old school Italian decor which I love and the owner came over to our table .Our waitresses were perfect .attentive but not annoying .I got the homeade pappardelle with truffle oil!To die for ! We also ordered the special antipasto which is warm and untraditional.. not a salad antipasto .It was great but in.case anyone is trying it.We followed with delish desserts and i.had a birthday crown on The waitresses brought out a cake I've with a candle without anyone asking .Do nice ! The homemade gnocchi, which was quite good but ruined by the accompanying salty beef and pork sauce. The osso buco was one of the specials tonight. It was quite tender and well seasoned, but the portion was rather small. The homemade Italian cheesecake was the best part of the meal. read more

This place is pretty good. I feel like it used to be better though. Came here for the first time 2-3 years ago and it was outstanding. Had continued to come a few more times after that as well. My latest time was just about a week ago. I wasn't to hungry so I went with simple linguini with garlic and oil. Was ok, but too average. The wine is alright too, nothing special. It took a long time to get our food. We were in there for 2 hours, and we only ordered small dishes. I did however give this place 3 stars mainly for the dessert. They have a great selection, and everything has alway been yummy! Not a bad restaurant if your in the area. read more

I normally would have rated this place a 5 star as I love their food and service. I cannot complain about that. However, I am super disappointed about their health inspection score. I expected more from this place. I won't return unless I see the score significantly improved. Once "rodents present" is mentioned in any place, I cannot support the business anymore. The number of violations 6, is a lot. They were critical violations not non-critical. Fix your business or lose it. I'm so sad about this but be cleaner. read more

Our go-to Italian restaurant in lower Westchester. Before the pandemic, we always enjoyed the nice ambiance, the friendly staff and the great food. Now, we do take-out because we have 2 high-risk members of our family. The food is delicious. My go-to choice is the Vitello Pizzaiola - veal with peppers, onions and mushrooms in a marinara sauce. My sons love 2 pasta dishes - Canelloni Genovese and Conchiglie Nostrane. And the outdoor tables provide a nice atmosphere. A must if you live within striking distance. read more

Delicious old world can't go wrong Italian food. The gluten free pesto pasta was excellent as was everyone else's meal. We sat outside and there were other tables from Mamma Assunta who's kids were really loud and using he area as a playground. My 2 year old was with us and I was surprised that the manager didn't tell them to settle down bc the other older people outside could not hear or enjoy their dinner from all the screeching. Don't know what it is like inside bc we never sat in there. There was a private party and it was packed. I'm sure it is hard to get a bad meal here. read more

The food, wine and service was fabulous! I cannot say a bad thing about this place. There is plenty of seating inside and the decor has that classic Italian look to it. Came here with a few friends the other night, and for a Saturday night I was surprised that they did not rush us out, we really enjoyed our stay. I ordered the Salmone Alla Grigio (Grilled Alaskan Salmon) the fish was cooked to perfection and fresh. My friend ordered the Sogliola Di Limone (Egg battered lemons sole) that also was delicious and fresh. All and all, we would come back here in a heartbeat. read more

Went there last on a whim without a reservation but we were seated rather quickly. The hostess was a very nice and pleasant girl who was very calm and collective and welcoming for how busy the restaurant was. Once we sat down we were greeted by our server whose name I didn't catch but he was a very nice younger guy who accommodated us with our special requests for our entrees. The bread was warm and tasted fresh, ordered the antipasto Freddo which was delicious, the prosciutto was cut beautifully with barely any fat on it. We received our entrees I had gotten the chicken parmigiana and subbed out regular pasta with penne vodka and my wife ordered chicken scarpariello. The pasta was cooked to perfection not too al dente and not too mushy. Both dishes were very good and tasteful the only comment is Maybe it was just an accidental heavy hand by the chef or if they always cook it like that but it would not stop me from going back. Nice atmosphere and Reasonably priced at $136 for an app, two entrees, dessert and 2 cups of espresso with Sambuca and 5 drinks between the both of us. I'll easily be back again read more

Unfortunately, the food can be very good, but the service is awful when the restaurant is busy-have waited as long as an hour and half for main courses! The owner will casually say the food is coming when you question him but it doesn't! My husband and I wanted a quiet, romantic spot for our first date night in 17 months since our daughter was born. We were not disappointed with Mamma Assunta. It was fantastic and we can't wait to go back! First, it is incorrectly labeled as loud on this page because we found it to be quiet. Our waitress was super attentive. I love that she told us they would make any of the classics (parm, Marsala etc) if it's not on the menu. Sometimes you just want a chicken parm, ya know, and I have definitely gotten looks in other Italian places for ordering that if it was not on the menu. Anyway we went with the hot/cold antipasta app to start. Omg delish. Calamari fresh. Shrimp was fresh. Nice cheeses. Peasant bread (never had it before but it is bread stuffed with cheese with a lemon and caper sauce. The app was huge. We were pretty full after. For dinner my husband got the big beautiful succulent golf shrimp with pasta and I had a special that was orecchiette with a tomato sauce, eggplant and chopped shrimp. Oh I forgot to mention the delightful salad in between the app and entree. We were too stuffed for dessert but the tray looked awesome. Next time. We can't believe we didn't eat here pre baby. We can't wait for our next date night to come back; hopefully sooner than another 17 months. read more

The food took a very long time to be served (and it was not a busy day, there were only two other tables there) and the waitress was rude at times. The food and wine was fine, but not worth the money they charged. My husband and I were very disappointed. I liked the food but the service was painfully slow. We had reservations and still waited very long for our table. Then, from the time we ordered, till the time we got our check it was about 2 hours. We liked the salad, baked clam appetizer and the polenta appetizer was delicious. Dessert was run of the mill Italian. I will go back again and hope for better service. read more

Went on a Saturday night with a reservation. Over 50 min to get appetizers. Another 45 min after that before entrees were served. Pasta Primevera was terrible! Mushy vegetables that had obviously been sitting for hours. Broth, described in the menu as a light tomato sauce, looked like dishwater and was completely tasteless. By the time we asked for our check we had been sitting at our table over 2 hours. At no time did any one stop by our table to explain or apologize. No one. Such a major disappointment.
