If I could give more stars, I absolutely would. My family and I had an outstanding experience that Mama tease when we were in superior recently our server in fact, all the staff were incredible. The food was fabulous. We had chicken wings, and the fish sandwich and everything was so good. They ended up being super busy when we were there and our food took a long time, but given the fact that our waitress said that there are two cooks and they're working with a teeny tiny grill the fact that they were able to turn out a high-quality of food at such a quantity was really impressive. Mama T's is in its own stand-alone building on the south side of Superior. It's a bit more upscale than I imagined from the name, but still casual. And had I perused the website first I would have had a better idea what to expect. I had Zaba Boo wings in a spicy Cajun sauce. Excellent. Not painfully hot but the right amount of kick. House beer had character and was on special. Friendly and welcoming service, but not intrusive. I stopped by on a trip from Minneapolis to Duluth with some friends based on a recommendation and we were blown away. I decided to go with a pastrami reuben and fries. The pastrami was fantastic - super flavorful, tender, and delicious. The sandwich was amazing. AMAZING LOCAL FOOD Me and my friends are on a trip up north and stopped here after being recommended and loved it!!! Such a tasty and locally sourced menu with rotating weekly menu that is stellar! I had this weeks specialty raspberry maple burger with fries and homemade ranch, seriously delicious with jammy caramelized onions, creamy spicy cream cheese and a sweet and spiced maple raspberry barbecue drizzled generously. I had a mango cart beer on tap as well (one of my favs) and it was a lovely pint! My friends had the chipotle raspberry chicken club and it was on a nice sweet potato bun, delicious! Another friend got the Luigi's chicken inferno which was juicy smokey chicken with tasty sautéed peppers and onions, honey pepper sauce and a homemade bun. We have eaten here about 6 times over the past year. Every single meal has been excellent. Sometimes even at our favorite places close to home we may get a mediocre meal for what ever reason. This place is consistently great food and always served hot (even the fries). Service is friendly and they have a tasty coffee beer on tap. We decided to go get lunch while we were in the area and I didn't have to look very long to decide on Mama T's! I had a bbq salad, which was delicious! Even the lettuce was delicious!!! You know salads can be boring... and there was a pile of bbq pork on top!!! So sweet and tender!!!! Hubby had a pig wing platter. Pig wings are the meat from the pig's thigh. He said they were tender and very flavorful!!! Mac and cheese was creamy and very cheesy, fries were nice and crispy with little bit of seasoning and the cole slaw was like good ole cole slaw we get at home in NC! And the corn bread was just as southern! Fluffy and sooo good!!!!! And last but not least, we had a Mama T's pain killer!!!!! Wow!!!! It was so smooth-the perfect drink for summertime! Woof. I've had bad service before, but this lowers the bar to a whole new level. Half the drink orders at our table were wrong, ten minutes passed from the time the first plate hit the table and the last person was served food, and at one point we asked for our bill and the response we got was "I'm the owner and chef, your server will do that" as they walked away. Cool, I'm just trying to leave this shanty before something else gets messed up. Successful business owners will bend over backwards for patrons and at the very least say "no problem, let me find your server", but since our server couldn't walk out from the kitchen without still chewing food, it seems par for the course. I can say with absolute certainty that if I happen to win a Mama T's gift card, it will go unused. But hey, maybe that's the business strategy - play chess, not checkers. read more

I have eaten at this establishment on five occasions and I'm uncertain why I haven't reviewed them before. The food is amazing. The étouffée, smoked meats, weekly special menus are extraordinary. And then there is the corn bread! The crew spends time visiting southern styles of cooking by literally going south and receiving hands on learning from the experts. When we received the bill, she charged us for a full order of cheese curds on top of the burger/fries price. When I asked about it, she said it was right. I reminded her that we asked prior to doing the substitution and that she did not say it would be full price. She took off only $7 from each of the 3 orders. So we paid $21 for a burger and curds. We decided to try a new restaurant every weekend.. Was really excited to try Mama T's in Superior last night. The vibe was good but we waited an hour which is fine if the food is worth the wait. When my wife's food arrived she commented that it had fries and not the potatoe twisters. The server said we're out. Then she asked for seasoned sour cream she came back and stated we're out. My wife also said this doesn't look anything like the post you shared along with the sandwich meat was cool to the touch like it had been sitting. The server just shrugged her shoulders and left. After leaving the restaurant, my wife commented on the restaurant's post. The owner was rude and told her she was the only one who complained that night and what do u expect when it's busy. The folks a few tables over came awhile after us and did receive their food prior to us she did mention this and he said it goes in order and they must of ordered before us, but I find it odd that the server came over after we ordered and asked us if we were ready to order. My wife said we already ordered. Plus to top it off this owner deleted all the comments today. Why delete if u have nothing to hide? Amazing food and staff! My husband ordered the special crawfish po boy and he ate it so fast I didn't even get to try it. Yes it was that good! I had the Buffalo chicken salad and it was delicious and better than I expected. Usually bar and grills have the usual salads BUT this salad was first class. My picky twins had the kids cheeseburger and Mac and cheese and they ate their whole meals. The facility was nice and fun and the bathrooms were clean. Service was fast and friendly. read more

Reviews from others drew us to try. An enthusiastic server greeted us. Her recommendation for the cider tap with a sugared rim was the highlight of the meal. Like many restaurants, they are struggling to keep up with business. We ordered the WonTon special which took 20 minutes to get. For $14 there was about 6 cream cheese stuffed with corn deep fried "bundles". The reason we stopped was to try some southern food. This may be southern to those in the "north" but this is not true southern food. We ordered 2 Okra Shrimp Po Boy filled with 90 % deep-fried pre-frozen okra and 10 % mini shrimp. Romulaude sauce was more like Thousand Island dressing. Not worth the $58 tab. read more

Great service. We walked in for lunch on 6/7 and were made to feel welcome. Both of the girls working at the time took good care of us. The food came out and was hot, so good and fresh. The crawfish were dry and tough, the hushpuppies were undercooked and gooey in the middle. and the french fries had the dry rub seasoning they use for the bbq on them as seasoning, not edible. One sandwich with hushpuppies and fries for 16.00 is steep. It gave us both indigestion for the whole afternoon and will not be eating here again. We went on a Friday and we expected it to be busy but after almost an hour of not having our server (Brooke) check on us and actively avoid our table we talked to the bartender. This made our food suddenly come out in about 5 minutes except for our kids food that the server never put in. I will say she didn't charge us for that specific meal, which is only fair, but we definitely will not be going back. The server also blamed the cooks for it taking so long when our food did come out, but every other table even one that had come in after us got their food fairly quickly. read more
