The food is pretty great. I suggest the #4 breakfast or the eggs Benedict if you happen to be there when they are serving it. The waitresses are really good at their jobs. The ambiance is trailer-park sheik, and the hours are totally unpredictable. I'm an unapologetic liberal and I have breakfast there regularly even though it is Trump Central. We will return. Personally, I like a place with handwritten signs and wall space to hang local bank calendars. I wasn't greeted like the opening scene from "Cheers", but I'm truly okay with the lack of reaction. The full parking lot and 3/4 full diner told us we were in the right spot. Our waitress was prompt, helpful and even threw out some small talk along the way. I've had better tasting coffee; however, it was more than heated water. Minimally, our waitress kept the cup full. I had Eggs Benedict. It was hot, filling and I really liked the hollandaise sauce. My hash browns were a little greasy (but I didn't order oatmeal, did I?). My dining partner had toast and the nite owl omelette. The omelette was big enough for her to request a take home box. She enjoyed her meal too. I'd say to head to The Kitchen. Back in the day, some day, I was working on occasion at an oil refinery in Superior, WI. Our work was outdoors, and once and awhile, we'd get rained out. On days requiring "liquid refreshments", we'd head to a bar called the "Manila", and thus rain days became known as "the Manila Monsoon." Other days we'd head to a little diner called "The Kitchen", for ample servings of home cooking at bargain prices. Kawikamedia and some of the Minnesota burger posse headed to The Kitchen for brunch today, and Kawika's Hawaiian roots led him to order the Superior version of Loco Moco, which The Kitchen calls "Pupu Kaka". (Make of that what you will). The Wisconsin version was a pile of hash browns, a burger patty, a couple of eggs, and "just for fun" Kawika subsituted sausage gravy in place of the usual brown gravy. He felt it a tasty bargain at under $7 a plate, says they will return, but next time he'd go with the brown gravy. read more

This place is one of the best classic diner's I have ever had the pleasure of eating at . I stopped here this past August 2023 on the way back from a motorcycle trip to Sturgis, SD and this was my 3rd time here. This is where the locals go and it's off the beaten path but you're going to be amazed at the great food. I sat at the counter and was quickly given a great cup of coffee and a menu . I had scrambled eggs , hash browns, some of the best thick sliced bacon I've ever had and a full plate of french toast. My food came out quick and hot and when you sit a the counter you get a great view of the crew working behind the grill and prep area like a wonderful symphony playing a Beethoven masterpiece ! As I enjoyed my meal and another cup of coffee I saw the daily lunch special being plated and it looked pretty good ! We had checked the menu and the reviews and were looking forward to having breakfast there before heading out on a hike but we were stopped at the door by a sign clearly letting us know they did not think too highly of the mask mandate and that they would not tolerate any discrimination of their staff NOT wearing masks. We looked in and not a cook or a server were wearing masks. Look, we're not crazy about them either but not wearing them just makes all this crap last longer and flouts the law. This is a gem of a place hidden underneath a dinky exterior. The food is delicious (it's the best French toast I've ever had), the portion sizes are huge, and the price for all this is such a steal. One thing to note is they only accept cash and check, so come prepared! Also, the hours are a bit wonky, so make sure to check if they're open before going. Before coming to this restaurant, I heard that the servers weren't very good, but they were extremely attentive and helpful. My waitress was constantly refilling my coffee and checking in to see if I needed anything. This is an amazing restaurant for its food, service, and price. Was in Duluth visiting family and wanted to find a good breakfast for Sunday morning. I hit up yelp to find something high rated and inexpensive and this place came up. Decided to drive to Superior to check it out. It is a bit of a hole in the wall and dated looking, but the menu was all classic breakfast fare. My girlfriend got the Eggs Benedict and they had a special on a Country Fried Steak and Eggs. We are from Texas, so our expectations are high on Country Fried Steak, and this didn't disappoint one bit. The steak, breaking and gravy would all do a Southerner proud. The Eggs Benedict was good as well. The only negatives... we weren't greeted at all when we came in, but the guy coming in behind us had everyone say "hi" to him when he came in, the table we sat at had some splotches of syrup that weren't cleaned up, so my gf got into a bit of a sticky mess, and they are cash only. All walks of life, from the local priest, to a town cop, radio hosts, and insurance salesmen. They all come for some cheap eats and to catch up on the news of the town. During my brief stay in Superior I joined a few of my co workers for a tasty "Night Owl Omelet" which was a 3 egg omelet stuffed with hash browns, ham, peppers, onions, and cheese. I didn't eat again until late in the evening, it was so filling. The waitstaff won't let your coffee go past the halfway mark in your cup. Even when they're full, you'll get you're meal in quick time. The best part is your wallet won't be too lean after you leave. Others at the table got pancakes, omlettes, eggs and bacon, etc. Everyone was satisfied. Being from out of town, we did get looked at by almost everyone in the place, but it wasn't unfriendly by any means. Weakest coffee I've had since my Lutheran church basement days. No wonder they don't bring water to the table, the coffee tastes like water. Breakfast was ok. The pancakes had a spice flavor to them, which was unexpected. Portions reflected the low prices. I ordered a side of American fries for 2.25 and The portion was very small. Service was ok.
