I was surprisingly disappointed with my recent experience. I ordered a tray of chicken cutlets. When I arrived to pick it up, I mentioned that I had a $5 coupon and handed it to the employee. She informed me that the coupon wasn't valid for catering orders. I pointed out that the coupon itself doesn't mention any such exclusion. She then said she needed to check with her supervisor and left the counter. When she returned, she told me her supervisor confirmed that the coupon could not be used. Not wanting to cause a scene, I paid the full amount. Mama Teresa's pizza looks like a New Haven apizza, but it bites like a neapolitan. The crust is very chewy; and the sausage was precooked... which is definitely not a good thing. Had pizza months ago, yet dined in with a friend. It is a historical vintage eatery since 1963 however I felt it could use a lil renovation, personally. When we sat down, it was tight on the hallway. A local business that has been family owned and operated for decades. The pizza is made with homemade sauce and a thin and crispy crust. They use lots of mozzarella cheese so we always ask for them to go light and it is much better. The Mediterranean salad is one of my favorites. Their wine selection is not great but sufficient for a glass to go with your meal. They offer pasta specials for a great price during the week. During COVID they had curb side pick up which worked really well. There are outside tables now and limited inside dining. Service is very attentive. I recommend this local business. read more

Been visiting this restaurant since 1990 and have never had a bad meal! Chicken Verdi with broccoli is my favorite along with their grilled chicken panini sand. The grill checking cut to size and cooked just right, to often over-cooked. Not here! The bread was a small loaf and seemed small for two.... Went for Sunday dinner here. The menu is quite impressive with an array of choices. I had the Gnocchi and beef roll-ups. It was very good, the sauce is quite tasty and the beef is tender and delicious. The person I was with had the veal parmigiana which he said was very good as well. The portions here are pretty big, you either have a hard time finishing or have some to take home. The only drawback here is the prices here seem a bit high to me. I had the eggplant parm with a side of pasta (which I upped for penne with vodka sauce), an appetizer size salad is included in it too. Our server was Mary. My dad and I come here at least 3 times a month. Their meatballs are delicious!!!!! Love their chicken Parmesan also. They are great for lunch and always have a great crowd. Prices are reasonable. Threw a party at church for 60 people and had Mama Teresa's cater the event. Everyone LOVED and RAVED over the food. The biggest hits were the eggplant parm, chicken francese, and the buffalo tenders. Domenic was so helpful and patient with me planning what to serve, because I do not throw big parties and I needed all the advice I could get. I got this place confused with another place that I could not stand and which, thankfully has long since closeddown but I mistakenly thought it was Mama Teresa's so I feel kind of bad about that. I Recently went back to mamas after not having been there in years. They have absolutely wonderful pizza. It's thin style and they do not skimp on toppings. I could recommend the pepperoni or meatball toppings but honestly the bacon pizza is the best. Absolutely and utterly yummy. They also have these little garlic knots that I really recommend you order before you get your pizza or calzone or whatever you get. They are addicting and when I used to come here, which was quite frequently, I would get them all the time. The staff is warm and friendly and they are on the post Road with their own parking lot and are a great place to have lunch or dinner. I would like to talk about their other menu items but can't because all I've ever ordered here is pizza although I seem to remember having a cheese calzone once but that was a long time ago. There were a lot of restaurants near Mama Teresa's that were bad years back and luckily most of the bad ones have closed including the one that I mixed up with mama's . They are very affordable and the fact that they're still going strong all these years later says a lot about their quality. I would absolutely recommend them and I can't wait to get more of their yummy garlic knots. read more

I've been going here for a while, but tonight it was especially poor. The waitress / manager would not accommodate making linguini with red clam sauce for my 8 year either as a kid size or smaller size. They insisted to charge full price @17 bucks. I ended up splitting the adult size with him. (I would not complain but they have done this for our previous 3 visits) Then, they served us the house salad. Cucumbers were rotten and the ice berg lettuce was ALL white. I had to send it back. The clams sauce was awful. The baby clams (Canned) were green and full of grit/sand. Haven't been to Mama Teresa's in ages and my mom and me were both craving pizza. We usually go to Salerno's or Fairfield Pizza in Stratford but we figured we'd give'em a try tonight. It's been quite a while since we've been to this restaurant. To start mom and me ordered two bowls of soup. We had the Minestrone. We both weren't happy with it. It was overly spiced...and most of the vegetables didn't even taste cooked through (done). In fact, it was so overly spiced it tasted odd. I said to my mom this soup has a weird taste to it....and she said that's what I was just going to say. We ordered a large pizza with meatballs and sausage and extra sauce. Well, the pizza came out and it looked quite small. We started eating it and I'd have to say it was the most under-seasoned pizza we've ever had. Also, the dough was like just baked through; not enough. It was so lightly baked. We couldn't taste the meats or the sauce. All you could really taste was the cheese which was very overdone. Back in the day we remember the cooks using some oregano, basil and other spices in the pizza....and it used to be really good. Truly it's not good anymore. After eating a couple of slices our waitress walked by. I said I was wondering...we ordered a large pizza but this looks quite small. She said I was just actually coming over to tell you that the cook made the small in error and that she would fix it on our check. I was shocked to see on our bill the small pizza was $12.00. And we only had two items on it. Thank GOD we didn't order the large pizza...can you imagine how much that would've been? And we really didn't need more of it...that's for sure. Our waitress was nice but hard to find several times when we needed her. Mom thought she was serving outside too.....but no. So all in all.....will we go back?????? NOPE!!!!!! Also a new change, Dominick (Owner, Manager) has raised the price of coffee to almost $3.00 a cup. There are no refills to boot. He now charges $3.00 a cup !!!! Use to be a fairly-priced place to get a good family dinner. Mama Teresa's will soon earning the reputation of being an old established restaurant which is turning into becoming a rip off to the dining public in the Milford area.
