Excellent Calzone with pepperoni. Freshly made with fresh ingredients. Called for pickup & ready in 15min. Service friendly with a smile! Will definitely order again. Thank you! Cheryl Y. read more

I was surprisingly disappointed with my recent experience. I ordered a tray of chicken cutlets. When I arrived to pick it up, I mentioned that I had a $5 coupon and handed it to the employee. She informed me that the coupon wasn't valid for catering orders. I pointed out that the coupon itself doesn't mention any such exclusion. She then said she needed to check with her supervisor and left the counter. When she returned, she told me her supervisor confirmed that the coupon could not be used. Not wanting to cause a scene, I paid the full amount. I don't think this is good customer service or fair business practice, and it may even violate retail regulations regarding coupon redemptions. read more

Had pizza months ago, yet dined in with a friend. It is a historical vintage eatery since 1963 however I felt it could use a lil renovation, personally. When we sat down, it was tight on the hallway. There was no privacy. You say across, behind us and over ours too. Should've acknowledged it, asking for more distance away from patrons. Didn't complain. When my friend ordered Root Beer, she brought it to him and it tasted like cherry soda. The waitress was apologetic & offered a A&W bottle instead. While we waited I did hear a customer ask tell the server that his plate is "cold" and wanted it hot. Felt a lil uncomfortable, moving forward. Friend chose Chix Alfredo & I had the Hot Combo Grinder (meatballs & sausage). Mine wasnt bad, finished it. Friend didn't finish his, the waitress offered a to-go-box and brought it to him. He decided he was all set. We paid & left. read more

It's hard to review the food because we never got the chance to try it. We made a family reservation and confirmed it the night before, expecting a nice meal. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely closed. There was no phone call, no advance notice, and no update on social media or online. After planning around this reservation, it was a very disappointing experience. read more

Mama Teresa's pizza looks like a New Haven apizza, but it bites like a neapolitan. The crust is very chewy; and the sausage was precooked... which is definitely not a good thing. The cheese and sauce ratios were good, however, the pie could have stayed in the oven a bit longer because it needed some char and crisp. Overall, the pizza was very salty. That's a review. read more

Great pizza and homemade chicken soup! So comforting for a drary cold day!! I highly recommend Mama Teresa restaurant for many years

Im not from the area and was craving chicken alfredo as a comfort food. This was the best alfredo ever! Their crispy chicken was so perfectly cooked, very impressed! It tastes homemade and fulfilled my craving. Plus the portions are a good size so I have leftovers. We also got a small cheese pizza and it's delicious. I'd come back anytime I'm in town and will recommend this to anyone wanting good Italian food! read more

I've had the pizza here and it's great, but I just bought a salad and for $20 dollars the take home portion was very small and nothing special.... I was expecting something better than this. Go across the street and get it for half price. Get the pizza here read more

We eat here often. The food is excellent and the staff is very friendly. My son and I eat here at least once a week or more. The best Italian food anywhere!! Love it ! Love it!!! read more

A local business that has been family owned and operated for decades. The pizza is made with homemade sauce and a thin and crispy crust. They use lots of mozzarella cheese so we always ask for them to go light and it is much better. The Mediterranean salad is one of my favorites. Their wine selection is not great but sufficient for a glass to go with your meal. They offer pasta specials for a great price during the week. During COVID they had curb side pick up which worked really well. There are outside tables now and limited inside dining. Service is very attentive. I recommend this local business. read more

Awesome pizza, think crust. Sausage on the pizza is sometimes hit or miss. At times I have to admit it looks more like a cheese, but most days its awesome. I don't really get the other stuff here, we've gotten the kids pasta, which was average. and I think years ago we got other stuff but these days we stick to the pizza and so should you read more

Been visiting this restaurant since 1990 and have never had a bad meal! Chicken Verdi with broccoli is my favorite along with their grilled chicken panini sand. Honestly you can literally have anything here and it will be very good. Service is excellent as well. Many of the staff know me so that probably helps. read more

As we learn our way around town we are exploring many restaurants for the first time. We have some favorite meals we like to try and then compare. Lets start with the ordering. We are still mostly doing take-out so our first impression is the person answering the phone. Not unlike a host at the door, first impressions count and I was greeted with a very pleasant, accommodating voice. Sometimes they are so busy they push you off the call. Not this time, while not a conversation it was pleasant and made me already plan to come back! The food. Well packaged, plenty and delicious. Ok a standard ravioli and meatballs with a red sauce we enjoyed. We can add our own pepper thank you! The pasta with brocoli had garlic and oil, sweet and savory. Perfect. The grill checking cut to size and cooked just right, to often over-cooked. Not here! The bread was a small loaf and seemed small for two.... I also have been comparing pizza, and the sausage was sweet and small pieces crumbled the way I enjoy. So coming back to try other items! read more

Went for Sunday dinner here. The menu is quite impressive with an array of choices. I had the Gnocchi and beef roll-ups. It was very good, the sauce is quite tasty and the beef is tender and delicious. The person I was with had the veal parmigiana which he said was very good as well. The portions here are pretty big, you either have a hard time finishing or have some to take home. The only drawback here is the prices here seem a bit high to me. Parking is plentiful and the service is good and friendly. Worth checking out. read more

The weekly pasta specials are a great deal. I think the sauce here is the closest, taste wise to my Nonni's- she was from Positano, Italy. This week we had: the garlic knots (huge portions, yummy), ravioli, broccoli and cavatelli (perfection), gnocchi bolognese and eggplant parmigiana (exactly what I was craving). This is our go-to place when we're missing Nonni's food. read more

Came in with my family for dinner a couple of nights ago. Tons of rolls, great selection of salad dressings. I had the eggplant parm with a side of pasta (which I upped for penne with vodka sauce), an appetizer size salad is included in it too. Our server was Mary. She was great, but totally forgot our 2 sides of meatballs. *If you check in with your Yelp app while you're there, you get a coupon for buy one entree, get one 50% off. My husband and I got a take-out cheese pizza. We both agreed the sauce was delicious and had just the right amount of cheese we like (cheesy) The crust was very tasty, light and crispy. We enjoyed it so much we went back a few days later for Eggplant grinders. So good! Eggplant was excellent - thinly sliced and layered thick with that delicious red sauce and enough of cheese on a great tasting crispy roll. Can't wait to come in for sit-down. read more

We ordered here for the first time through Uber Eats tonight and when the order was on the way I received a currier message stating that the restaurant was too busy to make the calzone that my husband ordered. So I called and the woman told me they "over looked" the order and that it wasn't ready so they didn't give it to her. She was extremely RUDE and they didn't even bother calling me and letting me know. read more

I ordered take out lasagna and spaghetti. WOW!!!! The portions are humungo! (Very large) I'll be eating lasagna into the weekend and it's only hump day (Wednesday) I love the sauce in the lasagna. Even kept gratuity on an order I tried to cancel half hour after placing online and had pre-paid. So disappointed...ordered two pizzas for pick-up. One had a gluten free crust, and the other had extra sauce. On pick up, they were both ice cold, and the one with extra sauce obviously had the "extra sauce" added AFTER the pizza was taken from the oven. also, the toppings on the non GF pizza we're skimpy...I didnt even know there was eggplant on the pie. Really...I know they are a Milford staple, but up your game, guys. You should be ashamed, being so close to the mecca of excellent apizza, in New Haven. read more

Have eaten here/ gotten take out maybe a half dozen times. The food is consistent. Always good. The only thing I didn't like this time around was how much pasta I got with my chicken picatta. It would have been awesome to have more. Other than that the food was excellent! Can't wait to return. read more

Good place for family and friends. The food is like homemade Italian and the staff are great

I've been going here for a while, but tonight it was especially poor. The waitress / manager would not accommodate making linguini with red clam sauce for my 8 year either as a kid size or smaller size. They insisted to charge full price @17 bucks. I ended up splitting the adult size with him. (I would not complain but they have done this for our previous 3 visits) Then, they served us the house salad. Cucumbers were rotten and the ice berg lettuce was ALL white. I had to send it back. The clams sauce was awful. The baby clams (Canned) were green and full of grit/sand. Just awful tonight. read more

I got this place confused with another place that I could not stand and which, thankfully has long since closeddown but I mistakenly thought it was Mama Teresa's so I feel kind of bad about that. I Recently went back to mamas after not having been there in years. They have absolutely wonderful pizza. It's thin style and they do not skimp on toppings. I could recommend the pepperoni or meatball toppings but honestly the bacon pizza is the best. Absolutely and utterly yummy. They also have these little garlic knots that I really recommend you order before you get your pizza or calzone or whatever you get. They are addicting and when I used to come here, which was quite frequently, I would get them all the time. The staff is warm and friendly and they are on the post Road with their own parking lot and are a great place to have lunch or dinner. I would like to talk about their other menu items but can't because all I've ever ordered here is pizza although I seem to remember having a cheese calzone once but that was a long time ago. There were a lot of restaurants near Mama Teresa's that were bad years back and luckily most of the bad ones have closed including the one that I mixed up with mama's . They are very affordable and the fact that they're still going strong all these years later says a lot about their quality. I would absolutely recommend them and I can't wait to get more of their yummy garlic knots. read more

Threw a party at church for 60 people and had Mama Teresa's cater the event. Everyone LOVED and RAVED over the food. The biggest hits were the eggplant parm, chicken francese, and the buffalo tenders. Domenic was so helpful and patient with me planning what to serve, because I do not throw big parties and I needed all the advice I could get. I bought to-go containers from Costco and every leftover disappeared, a very good sign. I highly recommend Mama Teresa's for catering your event. 5 stars for sure. read more

Just ok, but honestly there are much much better Italian /pizza restaurants in the area to make it not worth your money or time to go here. Look for 4* and up on Yelp, especially in New Haven! I was not impressed with Mama Teresa's. read more

I give up! Three times in a row the food was unsatisfactory. Where are the original owners? I guess they've sold the business and taken the recipes. The pizza crust is now paper thin and the sauce tastes like canned. The baked eggplant sicylean (sp), ziti, mozzarella and sausage burnt black on top. Dispicable garbage I could not eat. read more
