And straight ahead is the person who takes orders, fills them, and finally cashes them out. Overhead is a listing of what the have in detail. Truthfully, being a new comer to Phillipine fòod, i was at a disadvantage. They alslo had a hot food display of about 10 or so dishes readily available. From reading reviews, the garlic rice and deep fried pork belly were favorites. Just plain delicious. Many of the other dishes were pork, chickèn, oŕ vegetables. Later we learned the pancet was in the back. My goofy order condisted of garlic rice (2 scoops) and a small order of deep fried pork belly. I was curious of what everything was by using the point and tell method. Somehow I endéd up with a chicken dish with more rice, that really jacked up the bill. All the dishes were labeled and the server was very helpful in telling what they were to the extent of pork or chicken. It became more confusing when the cashier came over to help. Sèrvings were generous. I have to give them credit, the restaurant, and store, were very clean.

A couple tables and and chairs if you want to stay and eat but most people get it to go. The service is welcoming and friendly. One my visit got a small order of lumpia which were hot fresh and crispy and delicious and a bbq chicken stick, not a full meal just a snack. But for the price it was good food. Will definitely be back to try the full plates/combos. Legit flipino food here

I've been wanting to try James for a few years now and FINALLY got the chance today!…read more After a long day at work, I called my order in and made the drive to the restaurant. James is a local establishment that features traditional Filipino dishes. My personal favorites are pancit, adobo, and lumpia. The restaurant is located in the back of a shopping center that is currently being renovated. I've come to the shopping center dozens of times, but never realized James was there until a few years ago. The restaurant is so quaint and cozy. I felt like I was in someone's home and they were offering me a nice home cooked meal. The servers were very kind. I bought my own bag for my food (the restaurant charges for bags). My order was ready almost right away. I was handed my food and I proceeded on my way home. I settled on the Canton style pancit. It had chicken, shrimp and deep fried pork belly laid on the top. It originally comes with egg noodles, but I asked to substitute them with rice noodles. The rice noodles were well seasoned- I didn't need any fish sauce, pepper or any other seasonings. The shrimp were baby shrimp, which was fine with me. There were small diced pieces of chicken that were tender and well seasoned. I have to say that I'm not the biggest fan of pork belly. It's a bit on the fatty side, but it does add flavor to the dish. As you can see in my photos, I did eat most of the pork belly pieces. The lumpia was delicious- lightly crispy on the outside, with delicious pork filling on the inside. It came with a sweet & sour-like sauce that was mild and tasty. My meal was delicious and I ate it ALL! As I type this review, I don't feel extremely full and weighed down, which is great! With tip, I paid $24 and some change. I would definitely go back to try some of the other offerings. This is a great spot if you are craving Filipino cuisine that tastes homemade. Solid four gold stars!

The restaurant has simple seating, buffet style views of some of their food items and features grocery items. It's nice to have a spot to grab different items to try while also sitting down for a little meal. In restaurant I tried the bbq chicken skewers with garlic fried rice. For my to go order I grabbed pancit and lumpia since those are my husband's favorite. We all enjoyed the flavor profile in each of these items and cannot wait to come back to work our way through more of the menu.

This time, the pork barbecue looked a little dry. Missing some of the "taba" (fat) at the end which would have been nice. Taste is still ok and just dipped in vinegar so it's not too dry. The grilled fish we got was a little on the burnt side which made it difficult to eat on account of the bitter taste and it was in a place where it was difficult to separate the burnt part from the meat. Also, my one beef is that there was an added credit card surcharge of 3% which I was not informed of ahead of time. This is big as my bill before taxes was already over $135! If I knew beforehand, I would have prepared to bring cash because that surcharge was big and this was not even verbally offered at the time of payment. I have been a loyal customer for many years now but we don't come as often as we don't leave near. It used to be bag fees, and I brought my own bag in for groceries, but this surcharge left a bad taste. if this is to be standard, please put up a sign at the counter or on your website. Otherwise, I like the variety of food and grocery items offered, but there has to be better communication with customers.

The recipes here are inspired by their family's home cooking, which really comes through in the food. We ended our delightful lunch with desserts from Gwenie's: ube cake, an ice cream cookie, and a mango cream donut. Everything was fantastic!
