Oh poo poo, mama foo foo. Really wanted to try this place for a while. Well we decided to go our first time on NEW YEARS. Big Mistake, BIG MISTAKE! (Pretty Woman quote - LOL) First of all we thought it was very expensive for Daytona Beach, but we figured hey, maybe we're in for an amazing night and it's worth it. NOPE! We actually went somewhere else with friends for dinner first, then here afterwards to dance the night away. It was DEAD! No wonder they haven't shared any photos yet. This place prides itself on being a photo opp kind of place and we figured we would be in more than one photo for sure considering there wasn't many people at all. We actually felt bad for the DJ who they were advertising as a big deal, and I'm sure paid $$$. This was not the right DJ for NYE or maybe he was for the handful of people that were there. Even he hasn't shared ANY pics or experiences from NYE on his social media and he has over 965K followers. (we looked him up) Anyway, we ended up leaving early, and I was pretty upset about how much we spent on the tickets, but my boyfriend tried to make me feel charitable about it. He said, "Look at it this way, that place needs the money more than we do" I just chuckled and we ended up at a friends house where they had a DJ and actually more people than this place. I'm giving them 2 stars because I do want them to succeed, and I'm feeling generous today. Or like my boyfriend said, charitable. If Mama Foo Foo reads this (which I hope they do), stop trying to be something you're not, and read the room. You have a beautiful marina with very expensive boats and yachts. You have customers in your backyard and you're not catering to them at all. BEST OF LUCK in 2024. read more

Mama Foo Foo is a beautiful waterfront restaurant near the marina in Daytona Beach and definitely stands out if you're looking for something a little more upscale and unique. The setting is fantastic, with both indoor and outdoor seating that creates a great atmosphere, especially for a date night or special occasion. The food was really good. I ordered the ribeye, and it was cooked well and full of flavor. Overall, everything we had was enjoyable, and the quality of the food matched the restaurant's atmosphere. The highlight of our experience was our waiter. He was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service from start to finish. Unfortunately, the bar experience wasn't as enjoyable. The bartender was very strict about checking IDs. Every time I ordered two drinks, he wanted to know exactly who the second drink was for and requested multiple IDs. I completely understand following the law and checking identification, but having to repeat the process every round became a bit frustrating and discouraged us from ordering additional drinks from the bar. Even the manager seemed like he was having a stressful day, but despite a few service hiccups, the overall experience was still very positive. If you're visiting Daytona Beach and want a nice waterfront restaurant that's a little different from the typical beach spots, Mama Foo Foo is definitely worth checking out. Great food, beautiful views, and a perfect place to take someone out for a nice dinner or date night. I'd happily come back. read more

I used to consider Mama Foo Foos a hidden gem, consistently deserving of a solid 5-star rating. I proudly brought all my out-of-town visitors to savor the fantastic cuisine. However, it pains me to say that this is no longer the case. The recent changes in management and the chef have been detrimental to the restaurant's quality. The food, once bursting with flavor, now lacks any discernible taste. Even my favorite, the grilled octopus ($25) was a disappointment, lacking the proper char and tasting overly fishy. Our reservation was at 7:45 and when we were greeted by our waitress we were informed that they ran out of MANY staple items on the menus. Previously that would have never happened. To make matters worse, the drinks have also taken a hit. A $13 cocktail should at least have a generous pour, but these were severely lacking in alcohol content. The final blow is the restaurant's overpricing - it's simply not justifiable for the subpar experience. It's with great regret that I can no longer recommend Mama Foo Foos as a dining destination. It's a far cry from the establishment that once impressed me and my out-of-town guests. My loyalty has waned, and I'll be exploring other options in the future. I recently dined at Mama Foo Food's, and it was an overall amazing experience. We tried the Honey Sesame Scallops and the Bolognese. The scallops were the clear winner - they were absolutely amazing, with a perfect balance of sweet and justsavory flavors that left us craving more. The Bolognese was decent, but it didn't quite stand out in comparison. We also sampled a few of their cocktails. The La Bonne Vie and the Purple Drank were both hits, with well-balanced flavors and just the right amount of sweetness. However, the Field Day drink was quite bitter and didn't quite suit our tastes. The atmosphere at Mama Foo Food's is a major plus. The decor is modern and inviting, and we had a fantastic view of the marina, which added to the overall experience. It's definitely a place we'd like to visit again, especially for those scallops and the scenic view! read more

We recently visited thus restaurant with fabulous decor and a great location. The craft cocktails were inventive, and the menu offered a nice array of dishes. The hamburger was good, and the ribeye was beautifully presented but unfortunately burnt. I should have sent it back, but I was so hungry that I ate it, gristle and all, which I regretted. The cook must have used a new fire/too high of heat, which ruined the experience for me. My fault for not saying something. However, the standout dish for us was the Brussels sprouts. They were perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The service was excellent, which added to the overall positive experience. Overall, while there were some issues, the restaurant has a lot of potential, especially with its creative cocktails and excellent service. read more

Every detail of the aesthetic felt intentional and elevated the entire experience. The food was incredible fresh, flavorful, and presented perfectly. You can genuinely tell the staff and chefs take pride in what they do. The service was equally impressive, and our server Jayden truly made the experience even better. Attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, Jayden went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. This is one of those places that delivers on every level amazing food, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. Mama Foo Foo is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcomed, and Kate, our server, made the experience even better. She was attentive, friendly, and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. The food was simply outstanding. I had the chimichurri skirt steak, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. My wife ordered the Wagyu Smashburger, and she's still talking about how delicious it was! We also indulged in a couple of their signature cocktails, and they were divine--so well-crafted and perfectly balanced. Went here for the first time this past Friday night and although I was hoping for a good night of house music and maybe meet some new people, it was wack. I went in with an open mind, but could not get over the DJ who had no idea how to create a vibe or maintain a dance floor. Place is nice, but are they a restaurant or a "club"? Drink prices are waaay to high and not all that good. Went to the restroom, and some dude flat out did a bump of coke right next to me. I don't know what this place is trying to be, but it's obvious that they're confused and reaching for the life boat. This place needs help. We had a truly wonderful dining experience. The food was outstanding, with the mussels and wings as appetizers setting the tone for the evening. Our entrées were equally impressive--the shrimp pasta and bolognese were especially memorable, and the scallops were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was modern and inviting, with background music that added to the ambiance without making conversation difficult. As excellent as the food and setting were, the real highlight was our server, Cole. Save your money! So disappointed with this place. The food is way overpriced, and not very good. The staff is very rude. And they keep changing the rules. First it's 21 and over on weekends, then it's 25 and over on weekends. Took my friend with me, and they couldn't get in even though they were there before twice on a Saturday night. On the surface, it looks higher-end and they definitely have the location nailed down. However, our meal there last Friday was ruined by exceedingly loud music during our meal. It included vulgar rap with references to "pussy" and "dick" in the lyrics. It was as loud as a NYC nightclub. We sat side-by-side and still had a hard time hearing each other. If you're 23, probably a home run. If you're older and want to have a conversation, look elsewhere. read more

I had a really disappointing experience here. Even when you're just trying to help a friend get home safely, the staff treats you with unnecessary hostility and disrespect.
