Food was good, but the original location still tastes better IMO. Our first batch of pusit sisig came out a bit burnt but they were quick to fix that. Laing balanced out the saltiness of the Pusit Sisig and we washed it all down with Diet Coke and Sunkist. Indoor decor is like old school Philippines, plenty of seating. read more

Came here with a group of 6 for dinner around 5pm without a reservation and the place was still pretty empty, a few tables eating. The place is pretty large with plenty of seating. The menu is hung up on the wall and you order at the counter before being seated which is interesting. I feel like this system can be difficult because parties usually like to take their time and look at the menu before ordering, especially if the place is packed, it would be hard looking at the menus but I digress. The best dish was the pork sisig like the others recommended. All the dishes were fairly small and I feel like would be just enough between 2-3 people max to share. I think realistically my party all got 2-3 bites of each dish and we probably weren't full full. The cream sauce on the tenderloins were really good too. read more

We came as a group of 4 on a weekend evening and didnt have to wait at all for a table. Service was pretty fast and food was tasty! First time trying sisig and i loved it as a big fan of crispy pork belly although it was a tad salty. The kare kare was good too but didnt have too much meat read more

Much better experience this time around! Food came by quicker than my first visit, though I suspect it's because we came in earlier. Samuel up front was great, and was very welcoming. It certainly got busier after a bit, and it was quite buzzing! I will certainly keep coming back when I'm in town! read more

Not heard of this Filipino place until today. We were not disappointed without dining experience. A hidden gem in lower east side. They are famous for sisig. We had the milkffsh option and loved it. We tried their fried Kare- Kare and enjoyed as well. The place has unique and classic decors that make it interesting. It showcases old Filipino household items. The vibes is nostalgic with modern twist and your heart will melt on how the place ambiance is to you. Beautiful experience. read more

Great casual, cozy vibes all around. The front of the house is a classic bar, and in the back there are tables for groups of 4-6. They blast the heat which is greatly appreciated during winter. Of course, we got the pork sisig and it was phenomenal. Their garlic rice was so easy to eat as well. The Kare Kare was nice and tender, with plenty of sauce to put over rice. Overall, a hearty filling meal. It is a bit heavy and saucey, but that might be because of the things we ordered. read more

This place is called house of sisig for a reason! Ordered the pork version--undoubtedly the best dish at the table. Every bite is crispy, meaty, fatty, and savory. The bulalo soup is so homey as well. The beefy broth soothes the soul. The side orders of garlic rice are so clutch though. I would say it's a must order. Great fluffy texture and heavy garlic notes, as expected. Every worker I interacted with is very hospitable as well. read more

Sooo yummy and glad I finally got to try this place! We got the Pork Sisig with Java Rice, Chicken Sisig with Garlic Rice, and an Ube Shake. All friggin delicious. The flavors are strong and fragrant. We personally enjoyed the Garlic Rice over the Java Rice, just felt the flavors were more significant. The Pork Sisig comes with the crispiest pieces of pork skin and it (esp the oil) is a really good contrast and pairing with the rice. We really enjoyed the ube shake too, wasn't too sweet at all and the portion is huge. Def want to come back soon!! read more

I tried the crispy pork sisig with garlic rice and soup. Honestly, it was too oily and heavy and the soup had sour flavors, I ended up not finishing both. We ordered at the front and there was not much customer service, as for the environment it was decent. read more

I am usually not the biggest fan of Filipino food because there is a limited amount of options for me but I enjoyed the food and mostly the ambience of Mama Fina's Ambience: it is a really beautiful and spacious spot. They have these long wooden tables that make everything feel cozy. The decor is a bit eclectic (Christmas decorations were still up for example) but it all fit so well Service: a note, you can't get a seat without ordering first. They were quick but also didn't rush us which was nice Food: I ordered the chicken siseg and it was pretty good! I'd recommend getting the garlic rice to go with it. The food was flavorful and very crunchy! Price: the chicken siseg cost me $30 with tip and tax read more

My cousin and I were the first ones to come today and it was delicious! We walked around until Mama Fina's opened. There's a lot of space with a feel like you're in Lola's (grandma's) dining room waiting for her to tell you the food is ready. It reminded me of home and made us want to go back to the PI. The Kare Kare and Pork Sisig had us speechless with joy and full although the portion seemed a bit small especially with the Kare Kare. Overall it was worth the wait and the service was amazing! read more

The blackboard menu was a bit confusing to read. If you weren't Filipino, it would be difficult for you to understand what you were ordering. The font variations and the spacing of each letter made it a difficult read. You order first, and then you choose your seat. The food is delivered to you at your table. When you are done, you pay at the counter. It is not a sit down per se, it has a fast food vibe, with REALLY high end prices for the dishes. I honestly cannot understand halo halo to be 17 dollars! I ordered the sisig, which comes with rice and the Kare Kare ala cart. The sisig is worth it, since you get a complete full meal and it is delicious. The portions was average for the dish and price. The garlic rice was not as good, but at least it was warm. The Kare Kare ala cart was not worth the price and it was so so. What really bothered us was the lack of oxtail meat. I felt they skimped on the meat, but it was not like the price would merit the tiny portion. It was heavy on soup, not on the meat. The meat was soft and seasoned well, but the Kare Kare was not as peanut buttery as I would like as well. I would come back of the sisig because it is top notch and portioned fairly. read more

So after going to another place nearby, my homegirl was craving meat. Nonetheless, we found ourselves at the door to Mama Fina's. For the homies who are down for amazing Filipino food, Mama Fina's is a MUST on your list. Once you walk through the door, you'll have to make your order before getting seated. Not gonna lie, we wanted to order EVERYTHING. But since it was just the 2 of us, we settled for sisig, kare kare, garlic rice & a mango smoothie. Everything was delish but the sisig is OUT THE ROOF and I've got to admit, I think it's THE best sisig I've had by far. If you're looking for good food with no limits, head to Mama Fina's. One of my go-to and favorite filipino restaurants in the city! Their pork sisig is nothing short of spectacular; I think it's my favorite dish and sisig I've had. Only thing is that the food can be pretty pricey. But this is the spot I bring my friends who never had filipino food to and they always crave the sisig. Super crunchy skin texture I think making it a winner. It was very small portion for $23 (I think). But very happy and satisfying! read more

It only took me 3 yrs to find my way to Mama Fina's for the pork sisig, but I finally did it. My friend warned me that I'd burp garlic for days after eating sinangag (garlic fried rice) and he wasn't kidding. I did. But, I saved my calories for 24 hrs and walked two miles in the pouring rain to eat sisig and sinangag and it was worth it. The crispiness of the pork is so amazing. Even leftovers the next day are still crispy. What is this magic? As for portion, it didn't look mammoth, but I could only eat half in one sitting. Very filling. Recommend. 5/5 read more

Traditionally, Filipino sisig is a street food made of chopped pig parts and chicken liver--presumably delicious, though not a good fit for my pescatarian diet. I've always considered it a dish I wouldn't try until I learned that Mama Fina's makes six different versions, including one with tofu, one with milkfish, and one with squid. Never before would I have guessed that vegetarians, pescatarians, omnivores and carnivores alike could get a taste of this Filipino specialty-- it turns out that fried, sizzling protein topped with garlic and lots of seasoning is absolutely delicious. I was originally warned that every dish here is cooked on a single stove top so I should prepare to wait a ridiculously long time for the food, and that they only accept cash payment. Fortunately it seems they've updated on both fronts because my food came in short order and credit card payments were gladly accepted-- both wins in my book. There were a few other diners on the Saturday I visited, and still my server was on top of checking on my table. I only tried one dish, the pusit (squid) sisig, and while I felt my portion was somewhat small the flavors and textures had me reaching for bite after bite without pausing to come up for air. I liked the crunchy, oily texture of the sisig, which was sauteed with plenty of onion and diced peppers, creating a really nice medley of flavors. It tasted delicious with the side of garlic rice it came with. My first experience with sisig left me with a great impression and I'd be excited to return for more of their menu. read more

This place is where you go for LEGIT filipino food. As a born and raised filipino, if you don't crash right after filipino food, it's not good food. This place was amazing, the sisig is the best I've ever had, even better than some i've had in the philippines. The garlic rice is done very well. The food came out really quickly in 10 mins and they were very attentive to us. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very vintage music based, there were instruments around the restaurant. So happy to finally check out this Filipino restaurant! Friday night dinner, 3 people, had a reservation. Everything was delicious! You first order from the menu board when you walk in and then get seated. Then when to add more food/ drinks go back to the front. One of my friends is completely vegetarian, she was able to have the tofu sisig and 2 veg side dishes (plus desserts). It's normally difficult to find much (if anything) that is strictly veg at a Filipino restaurant so this was her first Filipino food experience! She is now obsessed with garlic rice :) They were out of bangus sisig, instead I had the pusit (squid) and it was great. Also had the fish special - whole grilled pompano, plusblumpiang shanghai, crispy pata. read more

The rice portion was great. Ive had mama finas squid sisig from jersey city and both location r good. The portion is smaller than the regular skillet sisig usually comes in. read more

I went to this restaurant with high hope. Nobody greeted you the moment you enter, so I decided to sit at the 3rd table near the entrance (only one table is occupied that time it's 2:50 pm and no customers), a fat lady came and asked me for how many? I said two and he is coming. To my surprise I was told that the table I was seated in is not available and asked me to move somewhere else! My goodness what a crap customer service. I Filipino myself and I was shocked when you're treated like crap in a restaurant you had high expectation! I don't recommend this resto, you will be treated nicely in McDonald than this place.
