We came because the restaurant lists gluten free options on the menu. Our group enjoyed delicious pastas, one gluten free. We also had Montanare (fried discs of dough with tomato sauce and basil). I was so surprised by how many gluten free restaurants there were in Rome. All with homemade pastas and pizzas. Mama Eats has some incredible offerings, all gluten free. It's the only place we found gf arancini and they were exceptional. I also had the pasta with roasted cherry tomatoes and basil, and it was a 10 out of 10. We did have to wait in line a bit. For the price, this place has really good food with great service. It's located around Vatican City and stay open past three for lunches. They have English menu and waiter can do decent English explanation of the chalkboard menu. We got the cheese with ham, lasagna, seafood fettachine and carbonara penne. All were very delicious. Honestly, with Rome being the pizza and pasta capital of the world, there were tons of restaurants that offered gluten free options, but Mama Eat was at the top of the list! Their entire menu can be made gluten free or regular, and they have so many options! I got the Ziti alla siciliana and it was amazinnnng! I ended my meal with a slice of their tiramisu, and it was seriously some of the best I've ever had. Gluten-free peeps, rejoice! Almost everything on the menu can be made gluten-free, and for only a marginal fee. From pizza to pasta to desserts and fried foods, there is an extensive menu for regular eaters and gluten-free ones. We ordered the bruschetta as a starter, and it was not bad. My boyfriend then got the regular rigatoni and I ordered the gluten-free penne. The portions were very generous and I couldn't even finish the entire thing myself. It is a very rich dish with a ton of cheese, which I thought was a bit too much, but it was tasty. At the end of our stay, we ordered 2 shots of limoncello, which our server said that he would give us for free. When we got our bill, we noticed a 3.5 euro service charge (it does mention a fee on some pages of the menu!) and since he comp'ed us the shots, we decided to tip a bit more. So essentially we ended up paying for the shots in the end, so I guess it evened out.. All in all, food was filling and pretty good. Not bad prices. Located in a nice neighbourhood, Trastevere. The pizza here is reeeeeally good. We came back to this place a couple of times in our few days in Rome. The service is pretty decent, the waiters speak good enough English too. The only issue I take with this place is the added "service charge" of 1,50 euros per person. From the info I've found online, its supposedly not legal for restaurants to impose such a charge but they do it anyway. So then I skip the tip..... We had a few different types of pizza here, including the Nutella dessert pizza. Can't vouch for other stuff on the menu or the glutein free menu, but if the pizzas are an indication of the kitchen then you can't go wrong eating here. read more

15 years eating gluten free food and never had an experience as amazing as this. Deep fried arancina and zepolina, then linguini and tiramisu. You just don't get to eat gluten free like this anywhere else in the world. They even brew their own gluten free beer. It's a long time since I went somewhere that there was a choice of 8 gluten free deserts. Apparently they also do gluten free croissant too. If you are gluten free you have to eat at this place and I would give it a 10/10 with excellent service and knowledgeable staff. But if you are not gluten free, it is also awesome. My partner lived in Italy for 15 years and says that his gluten based food was easily 9/10 and he is a massive foodie and very hard to please.
