Honestly the staff alone could get me to give this five stars. Everyone here was so sweet and the atmosphere is so welcoming. We tried the wings and po boys. The wings were cooked and seasoned so well and they weren't at all dry which happens so often with wings. The Cajun seasoning was bomb. So good. The shrimp and the oysters on the po boys were cooked to perfection and neither one was covered in sauce so you had the flavor from the shrimp and oysters as the highlight. He mentioned when it came out that he thought there might be too many oysters (as if that's possible!) but the oysters were fluffy, light, and buttery. I can't recommend Mama Easley's highly enough. I showed up with a large group and I think we ordered almost everything on the menu. Everybody was pleased with what they had. The standouts were the fish sandwich, lemon pepper chicken, and scallops but nothing was better than the fried green tomatoes. These were incredible. All of the food was cooked to order and the quality of the food was exceptional. It was the freshest fish I've had on the OBX. The beer section was awesome and the staff was super helpful in recommending great beer based on your interests. Next to the food, the service was some of the best I've had in the country. I came with my starving 3 year old who was in the middle of a hangry freak out. One of the staff, the owner maybe, grabbed a stool from the tiny bar and brought it out to him as a "magic chair". This calmed him for a couple of minutes. When we moved inside and my kid freaked out again, he brought the magic chair back to him. I have a feeling this guy would do whatever it takes to make sure everyone felt like family here. Thank you, you magnificent stranger. You saved our dinner. Wow one of the best places to eat on OBX period. Get the fish and chips it's amazing, perfectly cooked, crisp, and the fish tastes fresh like it's supposed too. Fries are seasoned very good too. Well worth the $15 they charged cause the portion was huge! The chicken sandwich and boneless buffalo wings was very good here as well. Went here on a Friday afternoon with my boyfriend while visiting Corolla with my family. I'd seen the Yelp posts and knew we had to try it before leaving. We got there probably right when they opened so no wait. We were greeted immediately and asked where we were from which was cool. It was a genuine conversation. We ordered at the register, a beer, an order of fried green tomatoes, sweet potato tater tots, and shrimp po boy with pasta salad instead of fries. We paid and found a seat outside under an umbrella. Tomatoes came out first and were AMAZING. Love love love. They come on a bed of shredded lettuce which seemed a little odd but tasting it together made perfect sense. Then the side of sweet pots and the sandwich. When the guy brought out our food (same as who took our order) he asked how I heard about the place. I told him Yelp and he mentioned that it seemed to be working. The tots were amazing, more sweet than savory. They melt in your mouth. I don't like seafood so I wasn't planning on trying the sandwich but after hearing the raves from my boyfriend, I tried a bite. Still not a fan of seafood, but I have to admit the shrimp breeding was perfectly crunchy and the breeding didn't all fall off with one bite. Sauce was good too. Now comes the pasta salad. I never thought I would write a rave review about pasta salad but here it is! So delicious. I don't even know why, but it was amazing. I highly recommend it. This coming from a girl who asked if he was sure about 4 times when her date wanted to substitute the pasta salad instead of fries. Who gets that instead of fries?!? I will next year we go for a visit!!! I love the concept here, nothing flashy, paper plates and plastic forks and knives, but the food is amazing.
