I have to say I was a little disappointed in the cake's decoration because it missed some details I requested. I did submit a picture. The caps were plastic one tassel was fondant, the other was material that came with the cap - a balloon weight. The details of the binding and the pages were missing and the scroll was just a folded piece of fondant instead of a roll. The details missed would've taken the cake to another level. I will say the sisters that I worked with were exemplary in their customer service, so sweet and friendly. It was a pleasure working with them and they went above and beyond in communication via text. A website will be an added bonus to their business. Crumbl Cookies Pumpkin Square: New for 2024 from Crumbl is the Pumpkin Square. It's advertised as…read more"a moist, fluffy pumpkin square marbled with brown sugar cinnamon butter, smothered with a light vanilla cream cheese frosting, and topped with a sprinkle of warm spice". I almost didn't buy this because it was my first "square" from Crumbl and I didn't know if it would be worth the price tag or not (an additional dollar to their already questionable base price). For starters, it is relatively large and heavy. Cutting a piece out of the tray, it was even thicker than it initially appeared. Even though it's thick, I found it to be somewhat light and airy/fluffy. Its texture is a cross between cake and pumpkin pie. Sort of hard to imagine, it's a cake, but a little gooey like pumpkin pie. The square is intended to be served warm and when done so, it practically melts in your mouth. As for the flavor, it's a mild pumpkin with hints of cinnamon without too much spice or burning. I feared there might not have been enough cream cheese frosting since the layer on top is thinner than a skeleton, but the intense sweetness of it more than makes up for the amount. Hidden by the cream cheese is a layer of gooey brown sugar cinnamon butter that also ups the sweetness. I looked like the quintessential jack-o'-lantern after eating my pumpkin square as I had a larger-than-life grin on my face. Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews My Top Crumbl Cookies: 1. Pumpkin Caramel Kringle: A Kringle is a large circular Danish pastry with flaky dough, covered in…read moreicing, & filled with fruit, nut, or other more unique flavors. After doing a little research I've learned that sadly, Kringles are not widely spread throughout the U.S. It turns out that Racine, WI is actually the epicenter for Kringles. Racine Danish Kringles (RDK) is a third-generation family bakery, and they utilize the same recipe Danish bakers brought to WI in the late 1800s. Fun fact, Kringle is the official state pastry of Wisconsin. Even though I'm a Wisconsinite, I don't indulge in Kringles too often. The reason for that is although Kringles frequent work breakrooms and all manner of parties, they're usually a fruity variety (yuck! my loyal followers know I'm not a big fan of fruit in desserts). When I do go for a Kringle, I prefer varieties stuffed with caramel, chocolate, cream cheese ect. I have a soft spot for pumpkin too, which brings us to the Pumpkin Caramel Kringle. Unlike the gross fruity flavors I tend to spot at gatherings, this one is filled with a mouthwatering combination of sweet caramel and pumpkin, while being topped with a drizzle of caramel. The pastry has just the right amount of chewiness to it and is also a little flaky like a croissant. RDK does not skimp on the filling as there is plenty hiding inside. An initial concern I had was that it would be too spicey, but have no fear, there's no burning or intense spice. Although I usually prefer my desserts at room temp or chilled, warming the kringle improved it in my opinion. My only complaint is RDK could use more icing on top. This gives their competitor O&H Bakery a slight edge with their version of a Pumpkin Caramel Kringle. Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews My Top Kringles: 1.
