We have had several cakes made by this bakery..... wedding cakes and both children and adult birthday cakes. Owner Cindy is a phenomenal decorator and baker. We have never been disappointed and recommend them to anyone looking for a great local baker,

Dreamy frosting on cupcakes- airy, slightly sweet; luscious comes to mind. My husband seems to love the cupcakes themselves. I like them very, very, very, very much- but I'm not in love yet. ;) I'll tell you what I do love, and that, so far, is just about everything else. Wish I was kidding, but their butter and sugar cookies are delicious and about 50 cents a piece. "You know what makes them so good?", the owner asks me..."BUTTER!", she enthusiastically exclaimed. So the secret's out. Ha! The cheesecake cups are decadent, delicious, divine. Probably one of my favorite things there, and a hit with my girlfriends. There were Danishes under the glass one day, a cheese, and a double whammy of apple and cherry, each $1.75. "Those are fresh, just out," she said. Ok, one of each. I intended them for our Sunday breakfast, but since they were so fresh I had to taste when I got home. And then I had to have the husband taste. Perfection. I don't believe they made it past the next few minutes. I tried a rum ball, and made a point of explaining my love for Lovin Oven's perfect rum balls. These were a very close second, but delicious in their own rite. My husband actually prefers the rumballs here as the flavors are not overpowering. And I'd wager most items seem to be easily $1 or so cheaper than other bakeries. I have yet to order a cake, but I'm about to for an upcoming birthday. I'll update you on cost and flavor when I do. I'm hoping to have a good customer service experience. I was worried after reading other reviews, but I'm happy to say that after several visits thus far, the service was friendly, patient and overly accommodating. Perhaps some positive changes have been made? Most of the business seems to be pickup but there is one table to sit at, still it's not the kind of place where you linger. It's not a large bakery, nor are the items extensive, though, the variety in daily cupcake flavors seems to hover around 10-12, and each cupcake runs $2.50. But the items they do offer are done well- fresh and delicious. Cupcakes fare best if eaten same day, and I don't think they use preservatives or artificial ingredients. I was very impressed and pleased to have a sweets connection in my immediate area. I'd usually have to drive much further out of my way for the same quality, and pay more.

We used this bakery through our wedding venue and our guests had nothing but good things to say about our cake flavors. We were able to even have three different flavors of cake to choose from. We chose caramel apple, banana foster and almond raspberry. Our tasting was very simple and easy, after selecting them from our choices of bakery from our venue's tasting, we set up an appointment with the owner and went in to try even more samples. She even sent us home with extras! We will come back for an anniversary cake next year and stop by when we are in the area! Yum!

Peanut butter banana, lemon poppy seed, cherry chip, cherry cheesecake
    Mad I.

What you need to know first, flavors: Peanut butter/ banana/ chocolate: BEST one I've ever had....ever.... Lemon Poppy seed: skip it, dry, but delightful frosting about the frosting....BTW very light, fluffy, sooo delicious and flavorful! Cherry Chip: Cherry cake and frosting, yum Cheesecake (thought it was a cupcake, its just cheesecake): Good but ordinary.... Salted Caramel pretzel: just okay... Only open Fri-Sun.., unfortunately her main focus is weddings... This place is killin me to write a review about, very torn up.... If you've read my reviews, you know I'm a Chicago gal and a cupcake aficionado (aren't we all? lol). Well, what to say....this is THE BEST cupcake I've had....BEST, that's right, the best....and $2.50 each is okay with me...so why 3 stars? What is the deal with this place? I have to tell you, as much as I love it, I wouldn't have it for my wedding cake due to the strange interaction with the owner. I was really sad to have to go elsewhere, but it does seem like even though weddings is her thing, she was quite pushy with insisting on fondant, which I did not want. Then she insisted on flowers on the cake, which I told her several times I did not want. I was impressed enough with the cake flavor, I didn't want to be pushed into a giant cake with tons of decor. I wanted a white buttercream wedding cake, and she wasn't really havin it! In fact, she recommended a competitor that we ended up going with, even though the cake was not as good.... And now, as a regular customer I will still go in because the cupcakes are great, but the business hours are makin it tough. I will be sad if this place goes to strictly weddings... P.S-the danishes are gone because they didn't sell enough :(:(

I ordered a set of cakes. One pizza styled cake and a Starbucks to go styled cupcake. First of all, they were beautiful. I squealed the whole way home about how great they looked. Secondly, they were delicious! They were a big hit. The woman I emailed with was very nice and helpful and made sure to help me in every way to get this order done the way I wanted. I even feel really awful because in all my excitement about the cake I completely forgot to tip!! Don't worry ladies I'll definitely be coming back for my next special cake and I'll tip you double for sure! Keep up the delicious work!!

A pound of butter cookies disappears in short order, they seem to melt in one's mouth. Their cakes? They're fantastic. I'm a chocoholic who really doesn't like fruit combined with chocolate but after receiving a birthday cake with raspberry filling I'm hooked for life! The cakes are light and moist at once and the buttercream frosting has a delightfully silky feeling. I really can't say enough about this bakery. I've lived elsewhere during my lifetime and have been to different bakeries and major grocery store bakeries too and none have produced such consistently great products as Lovin' Oven!

It was so fun to find it on a corner like a standalone house with a full parking lot. They also have an enclosed patio which I can only imagine would be so fun during the summer. We got the cherry cordial cold brew, and the matcha flight. The cold brew was good, it had the hints of cherries with in. I loved the matcha flight, honestly the vanilla matcha as basic as that sounds was my absolute favorite but I cannot wait to try the chai flight! For breakfast I got the caprese sandwich and my husband got the breakfast burrito and we split it. Both were great, the caprese sandwich was delish! I keep thinking to myself I need to try to make that for breakfast now because it was that good! And for our sweet treat dessert we got the carrot cake whoopie. It was good but it felt like there was too much cake to the filling ratio, I almost feel like it needed to be half the amount of cake. Overall a great experience! The staff was nice and the shop was so cute to hang out and work in! Can't wait to come back and try more.

Like, OMG I can't believe there is no dairy or refined sugars in these decadent treats! You pay for the luxury of making a better choice to cheat on your diet, but it is well worth it. The heart-shaped dark cherry chocolate treat takes like NyQuil to me. Their raspberry flavored snacks were the best. The avocado was awesome but it takes like key-lime pie.
