    Chicken biryani
    Gaurav K.

First time here and I was pleasantly surprised by this place over all. Tucked in a small strip center with lots of parking outside. They also have meat market and banquet hall next to the restaurant. Upon entering I was surprised by the ambiance. Looked like some club or something with pitch black walls. Bar seemed pretty good too. Our server was very knowledgeable and gave us good recommendations. We ordered chicken seekh kababs, Pompheret fish and soya chaap for appetizers. They were all good. For main course we ordered paneer and chicken biryani which was good as well. Will definitely be back again..

Mama Bros was an interesting place and had been a place we wanted to try. The food was solid but as a vegetarian, there are not nearly as many options for mains as there are for non vegetarian guests. We enjoyed the jalapeño poppers and i enjoyed the Kathi roll but for the price of the veg thali, my husband felt it was very lacking. There were no vegetables to be seen on a veg thali, only rasam, daal and eggplant kuzhambu. The service was good but I wish they had paper menus and the ambiance is quite nice. Overall, we would come back if a friend wanted to come but not if it was just the two of us.

So far, I've been here twice--once during their opening week and once fairly recently. I'm rounding my 3.5 to a 4 star because I feel like they've improved a good amount. During their opening week, i wasn't super impressed. The offerings seemed pricier than the norm and the service was a bit awkward...hovering around in a manner that felt just a tad imposing on the patrons. The entrance of the restaurant is a bit awkward too, where the dining room is concealed behind giant rustic doors, and the hosts will actually open the doors for you in a very grand fashion--it feels a little silly to me for a casual meal. One other thing to note, they use a lot of chrome metal dishware, and it is very obvious when some of the dishes aren't washed super thoroughly, as you can see a good amount of fingerprints and marks on the plates. The menu is large and mildly overwhelming. As far as food goes, it's decent nothing too special. If you get a biryani or rice dish, they do load up on the rice. I didn't like the sambar idli that I got during my first visit, but the chicken kadai was pretty good. Spicy! For anyone who isn't familiar, idli is an Indian fermented rice cake commonly eaten for breakfast. The way it is here is reminiscent of a dense cornbread with a gritty texture, but I wasn't sure what to expect, and now I know I'm not a fan haha.

Definitely an experience. We went as a group for lunch. It's an interesting space with almost a red carpet entry. The restaurant is stunning inside and you will feel like you are in Vegas. I had a dosa and others on the table ordered curries and tandoori's. The dosa stayed nice and crispy with very tasty sauces. The curries were generous and came with rice. The tandoori was extravagant and served in interesting dishware. The breads looked good too. Service was fine but it took awhile for everyone to get their dish with the dosas first, followed by the curries, and lastly the tandoori. You also get nice finger bowls to wash your hands when the meal is over. The only thing was the music at least for lunch was kind of dramatic wedding music which was interesting. I would say worth a try here if you want more of an experience than just a meal. There's also a bakery and meat show Nextdoor.

Stopped in a little after they did their soft opening. They have a dining hall and take out store next door. We opted to dine in, but are intrigued with the take out side too. The take out side has the food in the cases for you to select to purchase. For the dine in side, it was very nice setup, they have a "holding room" if you will, while you wait for your table. Everyone was friendly and the food was good. The staff does a great job in explaining some of the dishes should you have any questions.

    Mango lassi

We checked out this place when our family was in town and we were craving Indian food. This for sure hit the spot. The mango lassi was excellent. The paneer and naan was also really good. The reason I'm not giving a 5 star rating was because of the dum goat biryani-- this was definitely a disappointment. As someone who loves biryani, I would never order this again from this place. The tables were also very wobbly, and it was difficult to eat. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly! Nice ambiance. Loved that the staff brought our bowls of lime water for us to clean our hands with at the end. Would recommend this place overall.

This restaurant was suggested by my friend who is a local in Austin. We were driving from Dallas to San Antonio and decided to stop here with friends and family. Overall, we really enjoyed most of the dishes served. A special mention to Vasavi, who was excellent in suggesting dishes -- her recommendations were spot on. Kudos to her for guiding customers toward the right food choices. * Tomato Soup with bread crumbs - 5/5. Simple and tasty. * MB (Mama Bros) Special Kabab - 4/5. A signature dish with great flavor. * MB Lotus Stem - 5/5. My first time trying lotus stem, and I really liked it. * Nethi Kori - 5/5. The chicken was tender and flavorful, with a presentation we loved. * Kids Chicken Fried Rice - 2/5. It was quite bland, but Vasavi explained it was made mild for kids. * Gongura Paneer Biryani - Ordered but didn't taste it. * Dum Chicken Biryani - 5/5. Came with 3 chicken pieces, though I asked for 2. Chicken was tender, salan was delicious, though the portion size was a bit small. * Naans (butter, garlic, bullet) - All were nicely presented with coriander on top. * Beetroot Kofta - 5/5. I was hesitant to order, but Vasavi assured me it was good, and she was right. Ordered spicy -- you couldn't even taste the beetroot. My mother-in-law, who was skeptical, also enjoyed it. * Apricot Delight - 5/5. So good we ordered another round. * Rabadi with Gulab Jamun - 4/5. Rabadi was great, but the gulab jamun could use some improvement. * Masala Soda with sugar - My friend ordered it and said it was good. * Manasshanthi drink - Stronger in flavor, but just okay. Service & Ambience: Service was quick and attentive, with a fine-dining vibe. Bathrooms were neat and clean, always a good reflection of the kitchen's standards. Cons: * The menu is vast, but only available digitally. For first-timers, this can be a bit inconvenient, especially if there are network issues or if you don't get a good server to guide you. * We wanted to order chai and another dish at the end, but when we called Vasavi, she mentioned the kitchen was already closed. It would help if staff informed customers about last order timings so they can plan better. * No mouth freshener was provided at the end. For a restaurant that serves delicious food and carries a fine-dining feel, this small courtesy goes a long way. I noticed a similar comment in another review as well. Overall: Despite these minor issues, the meal was delicious and memorable. We definitely plan to return and try more items. In Houston, Aga's has always been a must-visit for us, and now Mama Bros might take that spot in Austin. Please continue maintaining this consistency in cleanliness, food quality, and excellent staff like Vasavi. We've seen other places, like Inchin Bamboo, decline over time in quality, it would be a shame for that to happen here.

Beetroot kofta- NO BEETROOT INSIDE KOFTA
    Neha G.

I only tried this place because I saw it on an Instagram influencer. And I'm disappointed after today's dinner. We ordered beetroot kofta, garlic naan and butter tandoori roti. First of all, just look at the price, it doesn't make sense when all the nearby competitors have 30% lower price atleast on breads. The so called beetroot curry only has beetroot shreads on the top of serving bowl. And that's where the disappointment started. Both naan and tandoori roti were ok, but I've had better at other nearby restaurants, which are just 5-15 mins of distance. Price for naan there is 3.99 vs this place has 5.99. I've already provided the feedback to server and onsite manager, they were trying to provide excuse but agreed with us after seeing the remaining kofta in my plate. My honest advice to restaurant owner would be that instead of putting money in getting a reel generated by Instagram influencer, put real focus on food and collecting feedback.

    Vignan U.

Certainly an interesting place. What hits you as you walkin is the setup for a fine dining experience. It has the appeal with dark ambiance and table lighting. Feel nice but not truly fine dining. However the food is an amazing experience. We tried the Natukodi Cashew fry and we loved it. It's tender and gives you the tender experience of the country chicken. The chicken dum biryani is great and the basmati rice is perfectly cooked. Service is good.

I tried the Ulavacharu soup--absolutely delicious. It's main ingredient is horse gram, which apparently is in the legume family. It wasn't like any soup I've had before, so description is a bit tough. It was fairly spicy to start with, but less so as I kept eating it. The only things I could identify was ground up horse gram, some sweet onions, and some thinly shaved ginger, but it had a lot of complexity. Highly recommend that and the rose milk (especially if you need some relief from the spiciness when you start out.) I had a little bit of my friend's butter chicken sauce, and that was excellent too. More heavily tomato-based than I'm used to, but a lot of depth of flavor. I'd happily order that in the future. I can't wait to come back and try their buffet when my diet restrictions are over :) Service was great. I asked if a few of the menu items have coconut in them since I'm allergic, and our server double checked with the kitchen for me and was very nice about it. Really pretty dining room as well. The location isn't as central as I'd like, but that does make it easy to find parking in the lot. Definitely recommend!

The food is absolutely delicious and very very fresh!!! I have a pretty good heat/spice tolerance and I found it highly spiced and fragrant. You might ask for light spice if you're more delicate. We had two lunch boxes, one veg and one not, to sample more offerings, I cannot recommend it highly enough. What magic they do to that cauliflower. Crisp outter coaster without being heavily battered, and tender delicious, perfectly cooked inner. The dal was flavored magnificently. Often it's a sad pile of peas. Not here. The buttered naan that came along was thin and chewy and crisp at the same time and we had enough to take home. The chicken was tender and highly spiced. The potatoes perfectly soft yet managed to not fall apart. Fresh samosas were shatteringly crisp with a fluffy tasty potato filling. The portions are huge even by Texas standards. The value is enormous the prices more than reasonable. This tiny place needs to be high on locals radar I can't wait to go back. This place is going on my rotation
