Ramen etc
Steve W.

I've been here numerous times, but held up on writing review primarily because my personal experience with Asian markets and food is not up to speed. I usually just come here to purchase some jasmine green tea and soy or teriyaki sauces. That's about the extent of my knowledge of this place, so I thought I'd add plenty of photos. I will point out that they definitely have a nice restaurant section and the Ramen Del Barrio is a very popular spot and there's usually a lunch line. There's also some satellite shops surrounding this business, including a salon. I did notice that when I was looking around, things looked a little bit sketchy with sushi sitting out warm and some live seafood languishing in the iced down bins. The produce section was surprisingly filled with fresh veggies though. They have a very large freezer section and a great selection of saki's and rice wine. They do have some cold domestic beer, including Asian beer, but no craft beer, except for Guinness. As I was looking at the ingredients lists on many of the items here, it seems that sugar and corn syrup are a major staple. I wish they had some active demos on the products they sell here, it would inspire me to try something new. However, I'll still keep coming here getting the things I'm familiar with.

I have been introduced to some of my favorite food and snacks because I bought it on a whim here. They have a lot of fresh produce, meat/seafood and a wide variety of snacks, drinks and sauces. The food court and cafe are a welcoming touch too. Best part is they have a rewards program if you give them your number for future discounts. I appreciate the size of the market, it's less overwhelming than HMart with a great selection of goods still.

Water leak and damage above urinal.

The food is amazing and the products of the grocery store are awesome. I really do love this location and the choices of food in their food court. But..... the building itself needs some revamping. These are two pictures from the food court bathroom that really made reconsider every choice I've made here. I was using the bathroom trying not to step on what was on the ground next to me and then I feel something drip on me from the ceiling. I was hungry for my lunch break, but after seeing where the employees use the bathroom made me think if the kitchen looks like this also. That being said the two star review is for the super outdated bathroom

Very big Asian grocery store in north Austin with a large selection of fresh, frozen, pickled, and packaged food! I was happy with the snacks spice selection as well.

look i've never in this darn city seen such an AWFUL establishment. My son took my here on my break. i was expecting to get my groceries but instead i got sick. i tried the carrots if you can even call them carrots and i spit them on the floor. it was so bad. i wanted to yee haw out of here. brenda is a terrible worker by the way... - bond rancher

I came to this store today for the ump-tenth time. I come here when in the area to get my Asian goods when I am unable to make it to H-Mart. I make a lot of Asian food at home, much of which I learned how to make when living in Singapore and Japan. Many of the recipes that I make call for ingredients that I can not find at a local grocers. I appreciate the spices this location affords but am not a fan of the fish selection as most of the items available in the wet market section of this grocery are frozen and not fresh.

Medium sized convenient Asian grocery with a variety of Asian staples like kimchi, sriracha, etc. I would say it's better for shelf stable goods than their fruits/veggies in terms of quality and pricing. You can also find fun but harder to find things like pandan flavoring and pure tamarind paste! In case you were hunting for the Huy Fong sriracha they had a few bottles, but they were marked up to $17. There's also a couple of restaurants in a small food court you can access inside: mochi nut, Hana yoree, ramen del barrio. Logistics: Large shared parking lot so no parallel parking needed. There's also a boba place in the same strip if you need your fix!

Food Court at Hana World Market. Now includes 4 different food bars including a fancy doughnut joint, but we still go for the excellent Korean food. Bus your own table if you buy Korean, otherwise you're allowed to be a slob. You paid for it. Those doughnuts ain't cheap. This place gets hella busy around lunchtime especially on weekends. Kinda noisy. Don't dress up.

Be careful of buying frozen food. It's overdue and you try to tell them and they ignore and no refund or exchange.

There was a date on one exp in April and the other one did not have any date on a package. $10 for both went to trash. Sadly it's not the first time I get rotten or spoiled product. I would not recommend! Service is hit and miss . They treat Muslims better for sure. Not going to support such a business with poor customer service and poor quality.

A lot of the canned stuff, like different types of beans, isn't really any cheaper than what you'd find at places like H-E-B. Fruits and veggies looked pretty standard, but the prices were oddly higher than in regular grocery stores. They do carry some interesting sweets, and I always enjoy checking those out. Coffee, though, was more expensive compared to other international stores I've been to. What really stood out in a bad way was the attitude of the staff. No one was rude exactly, but they act like they don't really want to be there, and definitely not like they want you to be there either. Product-wise, no complaints. But the vibe from the people working there? Pretty unfriendly.

We were looking for a particular Deep brand sweet lime pickle. I asked a gentleman to find it for us. He looked for it & said it's out of stock. Two days later, as I just entered the store, he reached up to me and said, "the pickle you were looking for is here! " I was pleasantly taken aback! :)) for someone to even remember what the customer is looking for. That's paying attention to detail. Well done! His name is Mr. Santosh. I hope the store owners appreciate and recognize you!! Unless you are the owner... that's cool too! :)) The vegetables are all arranged well. Very fresh. They were continually checking if there's any rotten produce to be thrown away. The namkeens were all arranged well in a full section. The spices, lentils, organic stuff, grains, utensils etc. Everything is organized so well!! Very well lit aisles. All within reach. I am sure to visit again! :)) Enjoyed shopping here!

Aug 26, 2025 review:…read more ---- This is one of famous Indian grocery stores for North or Central Austin. Reliable for food items. Usually organized and have decent variety of products. Their pav is usually fresh and soft. Best part once I was buying these and last at counter told me these last only 2-3 days which is very helpful and usually I've not seen this info provided by stores upfront. They also have good decoration and idols and usually you can find most of the stuff during festival celebration. Vipul kitchen is good for snacks, especially samosa. They also have small onion samosa. They do provide both green mint and red tamirand chutney with samosa. I've also done catering order for samosa and everyone loved it. It's crunchy and not so spicy. They can give you discount on bulk order and usually order is made on time. One time I placed order for 100 samosa one hour ago and they were able to manage it. I've tried vipul kitchen curry as well but didn't like it that much.

They even have alcohol, dishes, candles, other houseware supplies, and some basic American products. Prices area generally competitive, some much better than others. My main complaint is that it can be overwhelming, especially when you're trying to find one specific thing. The other issue is that so many items have mislabeled prices or none at all. This can be challenging when you're trying to stay in budget while faced with more options that you can imagine. Also, fresh prepared items don't necessarily have their ingredients listed which can be scary for less adventurous eaters. The store is generally easy to navigate even through some cluttered set ups.

One of my absolute favorites is their onigiri rice balls--I honestly crave them. I stopped by a little after lunchtime, and there was already a sign saying they were finished taking onigiri orders for the day. I was browsing around anyway when one of the ladies kindly asked what I was looking for. I casually mentioned a few onigiri styles, and to my surprise she smiled and said they still had some left and could make them for me. That small gesture completely made my day. The kindness and warmth of the Japanese ladies working there truly stands out. You can feel the care they put into both the food and the customers. I also picked up some Japanese noodles and sweets while I was there, which made for a very delicious and comforting lunch at home. Thank you for the wonderful service and atmosphere. And I didn't know what to expect my first visit. I thought I was going into a mini Japanese version of H Mart or something, but nope. This is very much a Japanese CONVENIENCE STORE with a little extra bonus on the side, so adjust any expectations. SIXTY PERCENT OF THE STORE IS NOODLES. Like WTF...is this a noodle headquarters? It felt unbalanced...like I had walked into the wrong store and wasn't supposed to be there. So many noodles, it scared me. I expected a variety store. Carry on. The layout is also a bit confusing for such a small space. I genuinely wasn't sure what areas were designated for customers and what areas were for employees...at one point wandering way into the back. My bad. They've got a solid selection of imported goods. Slightly pricey, but this is expected since they offer quite a few niche items you can't find everywhere. Still affordable, though. I HAPPILY grabbed some black sesame latte mix to whip up iced lattes at home as well as some black tea flavored soy milk. This is what you come to these stores for! The niche items. Now to the soft serve: Flavor-wise? Good strong black sesame flavor. Texture? Not so great. This was very icy and not creamy at all as I had hoped. The online pics were deceiving. Plus there were clumps in it that should've been blended out. However, it was refreshing and I could MAYBE see myself returning on a hot day for more if I'm close by. They only offer it on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. It's good, but no need to run for this. You can walk. Lol. It scratched the itch but I'm not running back for it. All in all, not an everyday stop, but an "I'll see you when I see you" spot. Know what I mean? 3 stars.

Located in Hana World is what may be the best Korean food we've had in Austin so far…read more Unfortunately, since Hana World is closing we decided to stop by and check it out one last time. Parking is easy to find and this stall is in the food court just past Ramen Del Barrio. Somehow we hadn't eaten at Hana Yoree before, but we wish we had. It is very much a food stall but has such a homey feeling to it. Ordering is very easy and they have a pretty diverse menu for such a small food court. Just a heads up, it's cash only so be prepped for that when you stop by. We got a good amount of food including their spicy beef soup, homemade noodle soup, Korean scallion pancake, bulgogi, and fried dumplings. Every dish was good with the homemade noodle soup being a true standout. The homemade noodle soup has a sweet broth and chewy noodles wrapped up into one delicious comfort dish we wish we could have every cold night. The spicy beef soup popped with flavor. The beef tender and the spice not being so much that it took away from the rest of it. The scallion pancakes were unexpectedly seafood based which threw us off a bit but was still decent nonetheless. Their bulgogi was absolutely mouth watering. Juicy and packed with flavor, we could've eaten pounds of it. And lastly, the fried dumplings were good. Pretty tiny but still very yummy. The whole meal was great and it felt like such a loving and home cooked meal for us to have eaten in the middle of a food court. With Hana Worlds closing, Hana Yoree doesn't know what's next as they don't have any set plans but we very much do hope they are able to make it because this is a spot deserving of its own storefront and we would love to come back and eat again.

Before we even walked in, my boyfriend and I had a good feeling about the place, we saw a big group of ajummas and ajussies heading in to eat, and if there's one thing my Korean boyfriend has taught me, it's to always notice who else is eating at a restaurant. If the locals love it, it's going to be good, and Yoree definitely proved that true. We ordered the bibimbap, which came out as a huge portion. Everything was extremely fresh, flavorful, and filling, it really hit the spot. We also tried the tteokbokki, and it was hands-down a 5 out of 5. My boyfriend said it tasted exactly like his childhood, completely authentic and exactly how it should be.
