The Mama Afrique Nigerian Cuisine food truck had a long waiting line at the Taste of CIncinnati this weekend, but I'd heard great things about the food, so I decided to give them a try nevertheless. And yes, it was quite a wait, at both the ordering line and the pickup line. But it was definitely worth it. I ordered the Suyo, basically grilled beef coated with a peanut sauce. It was amazing -- the beef was tender, and the peanut "sauce" was more like a paste, coating every part of the beef well. And the flavor with a complex, delicious kick that I can't quite describe -- I tasted peanut, but also a complex combination of spices that were delicious. Add to this a colorful, beautifully-designed, easily-recognizable truck, and friendly servers. I've now checked out their website, and will be looking for them at their next appearance. Maybe next time I'll try the Jollof Rice and plantains. read more
