The food here is delicious. It's a little pricey but you get so much food. The Jerk Chicken is spicy and plentiful. The curry chicken is just spicy enough and I ate every bit of my 1/2 chicken size!!! I don't recommend the patties as they don't have enough filling for me. Nor do I recommend the Mac& cheese. It's always been flavorless when we've ordered it. The rest of the sides are full of flavor. The gentleman who answers and takes our order is very professional and on point. I always try local restaurants while traveling or staying local. We found this Jamaican spot and decided to try it. We really enjoyed our good. The jersey chicken pasta was tasty and spicy. We enjoyed our cabbage a lot. The rice and beans were not my favorite, but I would just pick a different side next time. My family enjoyed onion rings and also the potato wedges. On the Northwest outskirts of Cincinnati, in a humble strip-mall, sits an unassuming little joint, but inside, they're serving up some delicious Caribbean food. Missing my old Caribbean joint from my neck of the woods, owned by some lovely Dominicans (Que lo que! They moved back home or something...) I made the trek all the way up to Ohio, and boy am I glad I did, cause these guys hit the spot! The lady at the counter was nice and patiently waited on me, as I hopelessly scoured the menu for Guisado, but it's a Jamaican owned place, so no luck. However, they had Patties, so definitely got one; l also ordered some Jerk Chicken, and Oxtails with rice, and Plantains on the side. Now, I wasn't expecting fast food, but these folks are quick! She told me ten minutes, and I got my food in, like, eight! I got my order to go, and hastily left for home. On my drive back, I noshed on the Patty, and man, was it good. Warm and crispy, flaky, golden crust, flavored of beef suet , with piping hot, spicy, beef filling. It was excellent! I saw they also snuck me some Cornbread, and I just had to nibble that too. Now, my momma makes some gooood Cornbread- the savory, crumbly kind, made with lard and perfect for soup or soup-beans, so I wanted to taste how theirs compared. It was delicious- soft and moist and sweet- just the opposite of my mamma's, but good all the same; there was even a hint of sweet spices (maybe Nutmeg) giving it that extra special kick! When I got home, I tucked into the Jerk Chicken, which was amazing- grilled or barbecued with that tangy, spicy Jerk marinade- so yummy! The Oxtails were great too, every bit as tasty as the stews I had gotten at my old Caribbean place, and I loved the rice with that Oxtail gravy. Even the Plantains were the best I've ever had. If I could give a zero I would. I am so disappointed because I love to support Black businesses. This one clearly doesn't care if they get or keep a customer. Nothing about my order was correct. Sadly I used a delivery service. Instead of them saying that they didn't have an item, it was replaced with things I personally don't eat such as beef. I requested white meat jerk chicken with gravy. It was mostly bones but a piece of a thigh and no gravy at all. The item order was done wrong and I didn't even eat the food, partially because I don't eat beef or pork. When I called the person just blew me off. My thing is if you only have beef then say that so someone doesn't waste their money if they don't eat it. He didn't even attempt to replace it at a later time since I couldn't get back to the restaurant on the same night. So disappointed and wouldn't recommend even going through that experience. The food is DELICIOUS! My neighbor suggested this place and my husband went and I didn't see anything in the pictures I liked. He got the Stewed Chicken and seasoned rice i tried it and WOW! He ended up making a second trip lol I got the oxtails with rice and peas and yams! SOOOOO GOOD! THE CORNBREAD IS NEXT LEVEL! I was looking something nearby and I found this place. I never had jerk chicken so I decided to give it a try. We ordered a half chicken with rice and greens and the food tasted somewhat okay. I think it was a bit too salty and the greens were not that fresh, however the meat was tasty and tender but the plate was mostly rice and the portion of the chicken was mainly skin and bones rather than meat which is sad considering that it was 20 dollars. I read the good reviews at this place and was excited to go to eat Caribbean food. I should have known this encounter was not going to go well when I saw the floor like a 99 cents movie theatre that hasn't been mopped since pre covid. The table was dirty , We had to ask the worker for napkins to clean it ourselves. Everything from the menu was a disaster . Where should I begin . The Mac and Cheese was from made from a box and soggy like watery. The festival was so dark it resembled chocolate. The ackee and salt fish contained Atleast 2 whole onions and tomatoes . The only thing that saved the meal was the rice and peas. As a Jamaican I was totally disappointed with this experience. I'm writing this review in the hopes that they do better . I heard some mixed reviews about this place but...i would rather try it for myself. I have been a few times and it has always been in point. The food is fresh and made to order and its FULL of flavor. I love their steamed cabbage and the pasta salad. My peas and rice was slightly bland but I did ask to have the jerk gravy put on it which helped. My chicken was chopped up breast it was tender and not dried out but the jerk flavor was not as expected it was actually lacking something but covered it to be extremely spicy. I was really looking forward to enjoying a good Caribbean cuisine reading such good reviews, I was extremely disappointed, I'm not even sure where to begin , have you ever encountered a person wearing a very heavy perfume and cologne , but not the flattering kind the kind where it is tailored to only smell good on that person and NO ONE else ? The food here had a taste very similar to that , a strange perfume like smell when you taste the beef patty made it not edible whatsoever , the same was found in the macaroni and the cornbread, it's as if the chef dowsed their hands in a awful perfume and it made its way to the food , the only thing that was edible and without the perfume like smell was the potato salad but even that couldn't get rid of that taste in my mouth , it was horrible like downing a bottle of perfume, not sure if the food always taste like this or it was just a bad day for them but definitely a one star for me , absolutely awful read more

Really amazing Caribbean restaurant on one of the main back roads in Colerain. Nondescript storefront hides a wonderful place with a great menu. I ordered jerk chicken which was moist and flavorful with the side of jerk sauce really complex, notes of chiles and fruit. Presentation was lackluster. Tasted and looked like pot roast, had a few small bones, looked and tasted like a version of pot roast. Jerk pasta: spiral noodles with a very FEW torn up pieces of spicy chicken. No sauce. No onions. No peppers. No veggies. Nothing. Jerk burger: Has some type of sauce or seasoning that gives the burger a hint of another flavor. Other than that, average burger. Hours listed in Google and sign above door inaccurate. I placed order over phone for two oxtail dinners (each meal comes with two sides). I arrived at the restaurant and was told my total was $44! My boyfriend and I used to order frequently so I knew that amount was not right. The worker told me I had the large oxtails which was not communicated to me when I placed the order. The price literally jumped from $15/meal to $22! Plus over the course of the last few months, the portion sizes have decreased. After living in NYC for a number of years before returning to the tristate I had grown accustomed to a huge variety of cultural foods. Authentic traditions in meal prep and large quantities of food at low cost. In the past 10-15 years we have started getting more of that in the Cincinnati area from Montgomery to downtown, Clifton, Northside, and the westside. It's so refreshing and exciting to watch our city grow and expand beyond its blue collar history. This is one restaurant that I hope stays around for many years to come. The food was made to order, it was seasoned perfectly, and gives you all the feels when standing there listening to the sounds of the islands while smelling the aromas of spices, and watching the care being put into each dish.
