I stopped in to pick up two paint samples I ordered online - the store was busy, I waited - it…read moreemptied out - I continue to wait as several people behind the counter were there serving people. After 25 minutes of waiting, the store began to get busy again as two service humans were serving two customers from the same company at the same time. After listening to the four of them go over a variety of details, I ventured to ask "Miles" if I could pick up my paint - already paid for - because I had been waiting neary 1/2 an hour. His response was dismissive enough ("We've been busy. Those men were here before you.") we will toss the samples I bought and start over with another store for the project we are just beginning. I can't imagine having to avoid Miles for the next year - which is all I would want to do. If you are a guy, I am sure you will LOVE Miles. He seems to be very ready to help the men he knew, along with the man who was already helping them. But a stranger? An older woman he has never seen? He didn't seem as interested. Personally, I would say, "Go anywhere else." It's a disappointment. I had shopped Sherwin Williams as a contractor for years. Maybe even before Miles was born. Regardless, he had no reason to be as dismissive as he was considering how long I waited with patience. It wasn't a lot to ask that one of the two clerks could be helping one of the two customers in the store.

I usually just do crafts with craft paint and not projects that require any other type of paint. Jonathan answered all my questions and didnt make me feel dumb for not knowing anything about what I needed or where to even start. He was very friendly and down to earth. I have been a customer at Ace Hardware in Mukilteo for almost 30 years. I called them to purchase a wheelbarrow and I asked them to deliver it to me, here i. mukilteo. He told me "Oh, we don't deliver outside 3 miles", and suggested I contact "one of our larger stores who have more emplyees." Which steuck me as a bumch of garbage, but I called the Silver Lake store. The lady I talked to was wonderful, and was also a resident of Mukilteo. She couldn't believe what I hD been told. "Let me give them a call for you." I went outside and worked for a little over an hour. No call. I came back in and called Silver Lake again. "They haven't called you yet??" "Nope." "Let me call them again." She called right back to tell me that" when I got the manager and gave him my name, he hung up on me" (!!) So I contacted Ace corporate to lodge a formal complaint. I was put on hold for 20 minutes and was told"I lodged your complaint with the store manager and you should be hearing from him soon." I told him I was mot holding my breath for that call.( that never came.) Meanwhile the gal from Silver Lake called back and offered to deliver from her store for a small fee. I told her "thank you so much for going above and beyond, but I won't give Ace Hardware another nickel of my money."

If I'm displeased, I generally chalk it up to someone having a bad day or, if repeated consistently, I go elsewhere. (Praise should be public, criticism private). I unfortunately don't recall names, but it was pretty much everyone there from floor to register. I had just gotten new plates for my car... just came from DoL after 3rd time trying interstate title transfer. (I'll leave those details to your imagination...) I realized I needed a special tool in order to mount them. I came here because it's super close to work and they'd always been very helpful previously. It appeared a little bit of a reset was happening so things were little disorganized in some regard. Changing seasonal merch and all that fun.) but every one on the floor began to help look for what I needed, then get the different bolts to use and even replaced the bolts so I didn't have to purchase new tools (that I already have, just in storage and inaccessible at the moment). The level of helpful patience was beyond anything expected. Ever. I've worked in various customer service jobs my entire life. I know people can be exhausting. They spent a good 30+ minutes (of course taking turns helping others with the same friendly attitude when they came in) for ultimately a $6 sale. I've been to this Ace numerous times over the past decade or so and always a very good experience and excellent service. This time deserves a special shout out. Starting with my personal purchase for a refrigerator. I had it delivered by Lowe's. I had no idea what issues would arise with this company! First of all neither one of the guys spoke English. Which normally doesn't bother me but when it comes to telling them to not walk in my memorial garden that was created by my Mom and I for my Dads passing. which one of the plants is a yucka. It has taken 18 years to finally bloom. They broke the stem with the blooms off. Then when my Mom passed away just a couple years ago my daughter and I planted plants in her memory. They stomped all over them and broke off the flowers and also broke my garden statue. They never apologized or even recognized what they had done. I'm so upset. I've reached out to Lowe's and still nothing as been done to resolve the issue (been since May 6th 2026). It's hard to put a price on the damage because it's more than just the cost of the plants. As far as the delivery for the business I work for, it was a nightmare. They damaged one of the refrigerators and tried to hide it. They dropped a washer, rammed a dryer into the wall. They refused the installation that was paid for when appliances were purchase. tho the work order included installation. So, do yourself a favor NEVER buy appliances from Lowe's if you need delivery!!!
