Good selection of beers, and love the patio that is dog friendly. My favorite beer selection here is the hazy ipa. The food is standard bar food that taste decent.

Malibu Brewing is so Malibu coded, I don't know how else to describe it. People are here for the vibes and beer - I'm sure - but mostly for the salads. Tons and tons of people sipping on beer and eating salads. Ngl, I too ordered a salad. I ordered and enjoyed a delicious Southwest Salad ($16) with grilled chicken ($5). The salad comes with greens, grains, corn, Borracho beans, southwest goddess + cotija. This was the cleanest southwest salad I've ever eaten - it wasn't weighed down by a ton of stuff or dressing. I also love the addition of the grains. It gave the salad a nice texture and made it feel a little more filling. Ten. Will order again. It wasn't all salads and beer for us. The MBC smashburger ($16) was delish as well, though I'd order a salad over the burger. The merch is cute. It's giving Madhappy if it's not already Madhappy. Malibu Brewing is cool. I'm there for the vibes and salad.

Great atmosphere, great service. Outside patio was full but inside was lovely and I was seated quickly. I got the highly rated rib sandwich and was quite disappointed... The bread was good but the inside was equivalent to a mediocre pot roast. It was well presented and great customer service but the chips and dip & buffalo wings appetizers were subpar. A restaurant with a great atmosphere and proximity to the beach across the street, but I cannot recommend the food. I know this spot is a brewery, my friend and I are not beer people so we appreciated that there were alternative adult drinks but we did not get them.

They have a wide variety of beer! Food was great! I had quesadillas and husband had a hamburger. Both were excellent! Service at the bar and at the table was very nice and speedy! Nice ambiance inside and outside on the patio. They are dog friendly, too.

Location is perfect when driving from LAX back home to Ventura so we always stop! Nice outdoor seating and they have some delicious beer. Food is on point, I got the Malibu grains bowl with fish which was halibut and it was SUPER fresh. Hubbs got the turkey burnt ends salad which he loved. Tower 11 beer is my fav!!! Service was a little slow for the first time so won't hold it against them! Sit outside which is a beautiful patio with a nice view of a cute grass area!

Nick was outstanding and a great server. From the moment we walked in, the entire team made us feel welcome. The location in Malibu is very cozy and a great place to relax and enjoy yourself. We stopped in for drinks, which were excellent, and ordered the buffalo chicken cheese dip as an appetizer. It was next level and definitely a standout. It's something I would come back for again, along with the great service. Overall, if you're in the Malibu area, I definitely recommend stopping by and giving this place a try.

Busy place with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Greeted by the hostess with a warm welcome and big smile. Promptly seated and quickly approached by our server, Conley. He was terrific and patiently answered all questions. If you're coming for beer, both their IPAS are really good. I would rank the Wild Grove over Hippie Van Hazy. Their Canyon was the perfect pairing with the poached pear salad. The turkey melt wasn't really a melt, but that turned out to be a good thing. The roasted turkey was outstanding. Their sauce brings some heat to the dish. And their in-house chips were seasoned perfectly. Whether you choose indoor or outdoor dining, there's definitely a fun vibe which adds to your experience. Cheers!

My pup and I stopped by here for lunch recently after hanging out at the nearby dog beach. There was a (very) short wait on a nice Saturday afternoon. We got a large bench table all to ourselves. Parking: Free in the shopping center lot, didn't have a problem finding a spot even though it was busy. Dogs: Allowed on the patio but they don't have a dog-specific menu. There were several other pups there during our visit, all well behaved. They brought her water out with mine, I didn't even have to ask. Service: Great, very friendly, from the host to our server, all were great. Food: I ordered the chips and dip trio. The chips were good, the salsas were okay, but the queso was kind of strange in my opinion. It's cold, which I knew, but between that and just the way everything is chopped in it - not my thing. I also got the fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries. The sandwich was really good - chicken was juicy and hot - but the fries left a little to be desired. They needed to be hotter and a little crispier - it gave the impression they may have been sitting out for a bit. My pup had grilled chicken - it was a good sized portion and she had 0 complaints, per usual. Drinks: I ordered the Happy Days blonde ale - highly recommend! Very refreshing, especially for those hot days. We would definitely come back whenever we have beach days.

This tends to be our go-to spot after a weekend of camping nearby. They have a wide selection of beers and their food has always been tasty. They have indoor and patio seating, and the place has a casual-trendy vibe to it. I've tried tried the smash burger as well as their short rib sandwich and loved both. The short ribs were melt-in-your-mouth and also large enough to possibly save a portion for a snack later. We also ordered the hot wings to share which were okay but on the dry side. The roasted veggies for the kids were also a bit bland and mushy. The service is great, and our server was attentive and made sure our drinks were constantly topped off. 2 Hour parking is free in the lot was definitely a plus!

The beers were a lot better than I expected for a place I haven't really seen in distribution. And with its location I assume it could get away with just ok. The Hatch Chile beer was the star for me but their coconut porter and pumpkin beers were great too. Solid witbier. Good Irish stout too. Kind bartender. Parking was easier than expected, and free. But to be totally honest the star of the show isn't something I expect you'll see, someone was having the most adorable birthday party for their dad. The bar must let you rent time on the TV? They were doing a slideshow, slideshow wins 5 out of 5 best slideshow.

We always have great service here: especially at the bar. Service is key to a good restaurant visit! During this visit we were informed that the brewery is opening a second location in calabasas at a former brewery. Opening around spring time. We are excited to hear this as the location will provide a great outdoor location on Kanan road. We just had drinks and fries. As a non beer drinker: I'm glad that they provide a solid local non sweet cider on tap. Please continue to provide non sweet ciders please. Also they offer wine and some basic mix cocktails. The fries are yummy too: big long solid fries, properly cooled. Not McDonald fries. See you next time!

Good food , loved the beer! Our server was great ! Knowledgeable and very sweet, the hostess could've taken me to a better / cleaner table and welcomed me sooner . Ambiance is low key relaxed and upscale, what you expect for a place on The California Coast

Wow, this restaurant stoped using seed oils for frying, they use Zero Acre as their frying oil, a seedless oil which I know is way more money than regular canola oil) So for those looking for a place to eat that stopped using seed oils, you have plenty here, plus they also grill. My favorite dish is the turkey burned ends salad or the grilled fish tacos, and new on the menu are the lamb burgers. I feel the staff is relentlessly on top of their service and everyone working here has a great attitude. A lot of neighborhood customers come here, but I've seen beach goers get treated just as the regulars. Nice spot to have lunch and I really think they have a great formula for success here. Favorites: turkey burned ends salad hamburger, order with waffle fries fish tacos, grilled or fried lamb sliders, 2 to an order but plenty big bbq wings Lots of beer on tap and for Happy hour beer on tap is $5

Should I make a reservation for tonight?

Are reservations necessary or is walk-in acceptable as well?

    Walk ins are welcome too

Do you have TVs? I'm coming from out of town and hoping to watch the Super Bowl somewhere fun.

Hi Gary, thanks for the question. We do have TVs, 2 at our bar and 2 in the dining room. Hope to see you next weekend! Cheers!

    Is it pet friendly?

Hi Kayla, we welcome dogs on our patio, as well as service dogs indoors & on the exterior. Thanks for the question!

    Is it kid friendly?

Hi Denise, thanks for the great question. We are a family-friendly taproom & eatery! We have a kids menu, highchairs, fun kids cups, Wikki Stixs for the kids to play with at the table, as well as the Trancas Country Market has a large grassy area in…

Not practical for eating and it was super disappointing seeing the large pieces of lobster they give to influencers and what they actually serve. Also it was super underwhelming in flavor. Would not get again. We also got oysters and those were way overpriced for mid tasting oysters. The ones at Whole Foods are better than this. I was expecting mind blowing and sweet oysters if they're going to charge nearly $50 a dozen. The uni was also extremely fishy and not creamy and succulent. It wasn't that expensive but it was mid. Lobster roll also had tiny portions of lobster that were rubbery. I expected it to be amazing for how much it costs-- again disappointed. The clam chowder might as well have been a roasted potato chowder. It was tan/brown colored and not creamy just grainy and full of potatoes. Didn't taste anything like clam chowder. Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we were overlooked and left waiting due to poor organization. Beach day + Malibu Seafood has become a tradition for me…read more A quick heads-up before you go: be patient. Parking can be tight, the line usually wraps around the shack, and everyone is hungry. But don't let that scare you off--the food is absolutely worth the wait. I've been here three times now, and one thing has never changed: the 3-piece fried fish and fries is mandatory. The portions are huge, and I'm calling it now... the best fish and chips in Los Angeles. The fish is unbelievably crispy on the outside, perfectly flaky on the inside, and fried exactly the way it should be. I used to order the fried seafood combo, which comes with fish, shrimp, scallops, and calamari. Everything is good, but the fish and shrimp are the stars, so now I just order the fish and chips with fried shrimp à la carte. One item that deserves way more attention on Yelp is the ceviche. It's ridiculously fresh, loaded with flavor, and served with crispy fried tortilla chips. Honestly, I'd order it every visit. The clam chowder is good too, but the ceviche steals the spotlight. The lobster roll is another surprise. I love Broad Street Oyster Company's lobster roll, but it's over almost as soon as it starts. Malibu Seafood's version is much more generous while still being packed with fresh lobster. Don't sleep on the steamed mussels either. Order a pound for the table and make sure you save the bread for the broth. That broth alone is worth coming back for. I always finish it off with one of their fresh-squeezed lemonades--the perfect pairing after a day at the beach. Seating can take a little patience too, but that's part of the experience. Grab a table overlooking the ocean and PCH if you can. Fresh seafood, ocean breeze, and flip-flops still covered in sand... that's Malibu done right. No reservations. No fancy dress code. Just outstanding seafood in one of the best casual beachside spots around. I'll keep coming back.

The best thing abot Sunset Restaurant, of course, is the stunning view of the beach and crashing surf from the tables closest to the windows. But, the food and service are better than they need to be given the setting. Started with the raw oysters and the grilled octopus. Both were very good. Octopus was cooked perfectly and the oysters were so fresh and briny. Yum! Mains were the seafood linguine, the rock cod, and the wild salmon. Not a fan of wild salmon, so can't speak to that dish, but the rock cod was excellent- served with a tomato-olive sauce, and the linguine dish was absolutely packed with seafood. Our server, Scott, is a hospitality vet and a charming gentleman. We're far from being regulars at Sunset Restaurant, but he gave us the VIP treatment. We'll ask to be seated in his section next time we visit. Scott took extra care to see what my lactose-intolerant daughter could eat and made a big deal out of my wife's birthday. I appreciate when it feels like the waiter is invested in your dining-experience. Valet parking adjacent to the restaurant for only $10. Easy to get in and out, and you don't have to hunt for parking or park far away. So convenient. Just a fantastic return visit to Sunset Restaurant. I highly recommend for special occasions and for entertaining out-of-towners. We drove up from the Westside and it was well worth it. Bon Appétit!

It's a popular spot for motorcycle riders, and you'll often see dozens of bikes and motorcycle clubs gathering there. Since the restaurant sits right off the highway, it has a lively, unique atmosphere. We ordered the Neptune's Net Sampler, which comes with a variety of fried seafood and fries. Overall, it was good. I've been to quite a few fish and chips restaurants, so I felt the fried fish was good but not the best I've had. The fried shrimp, however, was crispy and delicious. My favorite was the calamari--the batter was incredibly light, soft, and airy, almost like eating a cloud. One downside is that the restaurant isn't very dog-friendly. While there is an outdoor patio, dogs aren't allowed in that area. The website mentions outdoor tables where dogs are welcome, but we couldn't find them, so we ended up eating in the parking lot instead. Another surprise was the $5 parking fee. They didn't charge for parking on previous visits, so that was a bit disappointing and one of the reasons I gave the restaurant four stars instead of five. Overall, Neptune's Net is still a fun place to visit if you're in the area. The food is solid, the ocean views are beautiful, and the lively motorcycle scene gives the restaurant a unique atmosphere that's worth experiencing.

Neptune's Nut = Customer price gouging at its highest level…read more If you want to be extorted out of $ like back in the days of NYC's La Cosa Nostra, stop by Neptune's Nut. This place is 1) a tourist trap and yes we absolutely got suckered 2) clearly living off the fame of its glory days from The Fast and the Furious (I hope they're paying royalties to Vin Diesel and Paul Walker's family because they are the only reason this place is relevant). The place is cool looking and has the nice Cali beach vibes with a great view right off the Pacific Coast Highway, and that's it... The service sucked worse than Gavin Newsome as a "governor for the people" (the guy Eduardo working the counter had the personality of a rock and shouldn't be anywhere around customers) and the food was both grossly overpriced and below average. $50 for 1/2 lb of shrimp, rice, and steamed vegetables? Gtfoh... Neptune's Nuts is not worth the stop unless you like being bent over like a Las Vegas hooker. My suggestion is drive down the Pacific Coast Highway (it's one of the most epic drives you'll ever do), go right past this hell hole, and stop at an actual high-rated restaurant in Malibu... You'll thank me later.

It's out of the way so almost no tourists, it's super chill and a great way to take advantage of our beautiful weather. Very polite staff, nothing fancy, just beautiful mountains, lots of natural greenery and a bright pretty indoor area with a fabulous fireplace in inclement weather. I absolutely used to go crazy over their Curry mango chicken salad, I wish they would bring that back. Good for sandwiches, light salads, eggs. It's a fairly small menu but easy to find healthy enough options, as well as traditional hardier brunch selections.

A small sign at the entrance says Malibu Racquet Club. There is ample parking. It looks like a new business. Sleek lines and blonde wood welcome guests up the stairs. Two large ones per serving. One of us had the tuna melt with sweet potato fries. It was all delicious. We would definitely recommend it. Ambiance was quiet. Beautiful greenery all around. Really a perfect experience on a special day.
