I went here for dinner this evening and had the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. I have never felt so embarrassed, singled out, mistreated, judged, and discriminated against. I have a service dog for medical reasons, she is an angel (as are all service dogs), there is not a place on this planet that I go without her, and legally so. I have been to this same location in the past, with my service dog, multiple times. For some reason this evening was different. We walked in, said hello to the greeter, said how many were in our party, and expected to be seated. The greeter immediately went to the woman behind the bar and pointed at my dog, they both stood there looking at each other, looking at my dog, and shaking their heads saying "no, no, no dog". I stated the obvious and said "she's a service dog". They continued to say no, no I could not be served. I told them I didn't understand what the problem was as I had been there before, with the same service dog, same location, and politely but to the point told them it is illegal for them to refuse me because of having service dog. The greeter then walked the couple meters back over and asked if she was a service dog, as if it wasn't obvious (she's in her full service dog vest, clearly marked with service dog tags, carrying medical devices, and standing beside me while I hold the handle that is attached to her), and as if I never said anything. They then asked for me to "prove it", to which I told them I do have an identification card for her but it's illegal of them to ask for any form of proof. It's very discriminatory. Dispite it being illegal to ask for proof of any kind I did hand them her card, they both looked it over slowly as if checking for a fake 100$ bill. I had to continue to explain, in front of half a restaurant of people, that what they were doing was against the law. We were reluctantly seated in the back corner. After we were given our drinks the woman from behind the bar came and stood by our table. She told us she was the "one in charge", I was then talked at for about twenty minutes, at our table, in front of other customers, while she said things like "what if one of my workers has allergy to fur", "one of my workers will scream so loud if she even sees big dog, she will scream running everywhere in restaurant and upset customers", "can you give me certificates for dog so I can take picture", "everyone with dog must give proof", "I have to take care of my employees, it is illegal for me to not", "I have worked here long time, you have not been here with dog before". I calmly suggested that if a particular employee had such a severe problem then perhaps they could be given an hours break and could return to their duties after I had left, the woman said she would not do that. She tried to tell me I didn't know the law, the law must have changed, she has to "protect the employees and customers", customers don't like big dogs, this is illegal, I should call ahead to places to make sure they will allow my dog before I go next time, etc. This woman then went around speaking to different workers, pointing out I was there with a dog. Even the kitchen workers came out from the back room to lean out over counters and look and me and my dog. To have spent 140$ for three people to eat, with being treated like that, I am dumbfounded. Thanks so much for giving me a panic attack in your restaurant, for belittling me, berating me, embarrassing me, humiliating me, and making me feel like utter garbage for having to exist in your presence. To treat people like this is nothing but shameful, to know absolutely nothing about discrimination laws is a disservice to your customers. This was a cruel experience to have to endure, and never should have happened. Photograph is from 2018, me, with same service dog, same vest, same restaurant, same Oshawa location. No, lady in charge, I was not lying.

    Clean and fresh ambiance.

It's a hit or miss. Once I went and had a great view and fried rice, the next the server had open stitches whilst serving us.

My friend had the King of Kings as our server said this is one of their most popular choices. I opted for the Spicy Charsu. Now I understand some people can't handle heat but I live off of Purple Tongue hot sauce which is made with some pretty hot peppers. I asked for a level one and the lady explained that the spice level on the Charsu was a whole series of levels higher than the King of Kings. I get that . Give me the heat. Anywho, she was comfortable with giving me 0.5 but said I could make it hotter if need be. Ok, better to start smaller I guess. They put some sauce on the side which I added to my bowl. Personally I found the 0.5 a nice tingle; it was good. Made my nose run. But I'm totally getting the level 1 next time. My friend however tried a sip of my broth, spit it out and said poison poison because of the heat Mind you, his King of Kings was a level 1. Which to me tasted creamy and delicious. I love a good pork bone soup and I opted for the Spicy Charsu because of the pork bone base. I loved the broth. It was perfection. The noodles were so fresh . The portion size was enormous. I kept eating and more noodles appeared. The Charsu had an amazing flavor to it . Smoky and delicious . My friend is a larger man and even he commented on the portion size saying he would be ok with a smaller size as he was so full. Good portions for your money. We also had the Gyoza and the TakoYaki. The TakoYaki was soft and loaded with the delicious sauce. The Gyoza were enormous. We were both 100% satisfied with our visit and will be back for sure.

The concerned server told me that it may be painful, but being the chili head that I am, I gladly took on the challenge. It was a larger bowl than their regular size and my ramen came topped with lots of corn, some mushrooms, bean sprouts and 6 large pieces of chasu. The broth was magma red, but it was not as spicy as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it was spicy but not to the point where it would warrant a warning. The spicy broth tasted like a mix of Buldak sauce and Capsaicin, but didn't have much depth. I finished my ramen, broth and all and enjoyed most of the experience. The least favorite was the chasu and the egg as chasu did not taste fresh, and I could not taste the char on them at all. The egg was over-cooked and under marinated which was disappointing. It's still one of the few ramen options in Durham but can't say it's comparable to the other Kenzo locations.

I've been eating here for about ten years now and it's probably my favourite all you can eat sushi…read morerestaurant. It isn't necessarily the best sushi, but it's reasonably priced so It think it offers the best value. The takeout is also very fairly priced with a 10% cash discount. For sushi we always order the BC Roll and it's probably my favourite here. It's got salmon, avocado, cucumber, and just a hint of green onion. Other places offer a salmon avocado roll but once you see how much better it is with a bit of crunch from the cucumber you'll never be able to go back. They also have an amazing salmon skin roll that we always order and I've never had one like it anywhere else. For appetizers and entrees we typically get multiple orders of Grilled Fresh Squid and Salmon Belly during AYCE so we can enjoy lots of delicious seafood dishes that are normally expensive to have. Their chicken dishes can be hit or miss, recently we got Chicken & Broccoli and the meat had a really gross texture so I don't think we'd get it again. The beef is a bit more reliable, so I'd still probably order the Beef Skewers or Beef & Broccoli. The service here is decent but some of the staff can be a little rude. The biggest issue is always when we try to order dessert. At Tokushima we can order 10 ice cream scoops and get them all in separate bowls so we can eat as we please. Here, when we try to order ice cream the waitress makes us say which go in each bowl so they only bring one bowl per person. It might sound small, but it's pretty annoying because part of the fun of AYCE is ordering a bunch of stuff and then people gradually eat it.
