4.5 Service quick and easy Inside, small but cute- also has a chocolate side Pistachio latte (iced) was amazing- so flavorful, not overly sweet Pastries- 1 Sweet PB pop tart- good flavor, flaky and one savory- artichoke and onion, flaky and delicious. Just wish there was a bit more filling. Will be back to try more latte options. Offered coconut, chocolate, and others.

I live too close to this amazing gem of a small business! First- the chocolate, made in house- the cocoa comes from various countries- Uganda, Belize, Dominican Republic and Columbia- be sure to ask for samples, because they do taste wildly different! I snagged some of my favorite treats- chocolate covered oranges, for an event that I was making some boards for. I also tried numerous treats from the cafe, the chocolate chunk cookies are simply delightful, soft, delicious and chocked full of chocolate. A coconut macroon was scrumptious. The beet and carrot pastry intriguing and tasty. I also went all in for a chocolate latte- because I am in a chocolate shop!!! I also adore all the wonderful art throughout and one of the owners let me know there is more for them to hang up! I will be back- everything was delicious!

Strong coffee and yummy pastires. I got a macchiato and man it packed a punch. That strong drink paired will with our turmeric curry pastry and chocolate banana bread. Sweet and some savory both had great flavor.

Cute place. Chocolates. Coffee. Pastries. Oh my. They're planning to expand the menu, but what they do have now is good. Go check them out! One side is where they make chocolate. The other side is a small cafe where you can sip coffee and enjoy a pastry. Thanks for the invite, Jeannie!

Today was my first visit, and I loved it here! This place is a hidden gem. I always thought they just made chocolate, but they actually have the cutest coffee shop attached! It's perfect for catching up on work while enjoying the wonderful aroma of chocolate in the air. I had an iced mocha latte, and they served it in a glass cup--something most places only do for hot drinks. You can tell they've really thought of everything.New favorite coffee shop!

A wonderful chocolatier and a heaven for chocolate lovers in Atlantic Beach !Makenu has it all, from chocolate-dipped fruits (coconut is my favorite), blueberry bark (second favorite) , and 3 varieties of toffees and silky truffles. There is also an open cafe with indoor and outdoor seating for your favorite coffee or chocolate drink along with homemade cookies/savory puffs. I just picked up my beautiful box of handmade Easter eggs and they're looking so good in my kitchen - the perfect gift for that Special Someone and I can't wait to share them with my guests for Easter! Makenu has exquisite Chocolates Made with Care and lots of love!

Such a cute chocolate place. The man working was extremely helpful, he let us sample a generous amount of different chocolates from different regions which helped decide which you liked the most. My favorite was Columbia and Dominican Republic. Each chocolate is 70% which I love so I did enjoy each chocolate. I ended up getting a large Columbia bar with nibs in it and a four pack of the truffles. It's connected to a cafe with different drinks and pastries.

l was intrigued by this place as they advertise sustainably sourced cacao. The staff was very friendly and explained their menu very well. I tried the chocolate chip cookie which was fresh from the oven. It was so good as the chocolate was rich but kit too sweet. The biscotti had some grapefruit and dark chocolate and surprisingly a good combination. The iced coconut vanilla late was refreshing. I will definitely come back and try those chocolate bars.

This is my husband and my new favorite coffee spot in all of Jax. My husband left saying it was the best coffee he's had in Jax. Our drinks were so tasty and smooth. The coffee was not too bitter, and the option of a sparkling americano was fun. The cinnamon roll was so good. We brought half of it home to some family members that agreed. The poptart was so good and not too sweet. We also got their Haiti and Guatemala chocolate bars and same thing - such smooth 70% dark chocolate we loved them. The service was amazing in both the cafe and the chocolate side. The staff was kind and helpful. The atmosphere was so welcoming and relaxing. We loved Makenu and can't wait to go back!

What an amazing coffee shop and chocolate shop! They source and grind all of their own beans and all pastries are made in house. Their partnered chocolate shop is to die for. They also source all of their cacao beans, grind and make everything in house. The atmosphere is relaxing and friendly. Will be stopping by more frequently on my walks around the neighborhood!

The first time we stopped in, my daughters sampled several types of chocolate. The gentleman working was very kind and explained the origins and taste of each. My oldest also ordered the frozen sipping chocolate. She said it was heaven. After our visit, she said her dream was to one day work for them or to own her own chocolate shop. Such a sweet idea. Not only did she enjoy the chocolate, but she very much enjoyed hearing about the science of how it's made. Today we stopped in to pick up a gift and my youngest insisted on getting something for her chocolate loving sister. We went with the single origin from Dominican Republic and my daughters loved it! They have also opened a cafe next door! We will definitely come back to check out the cafe. It was already closed for the day.

This little gem was such a pleasure to visit! Before selecting my chocolate I was offered a sampling. I received information on each chocolate, it's origin and it's flavor make up. I was then allowed to sample a bite from 6 different dark chocolates that I might add...so delightedly melted on your tongue. Tasted one and this girl was HOOKED!!! They each were enjoyed slowly and very appreciatively!!! My very favorite was Costa Rica, but I literally could eat any, all day and without hesitation! Yup, that good! Think of the finest chocolate you have ever had and go one higher! They also serve bonbons, fruit covered chocolate, toffee and a few other specialty items. This is NOT a chain store. This is a local, high quality chocolate shop. The beans are roasted in house and processed all there into chocolate! (They explain the amazing process better!) I went next door to the quaint cafe and opted for a hot chocolate on this rainy day. She assured me it was THEIR chocolate and not a packaged kind!! HOLY SMOKES!! She was not kidding! It was the most decadent and amazing hot chocolate everrrrrrrr! I sipped it in the parking lot and felt some what guilty of my gem of a find and my super indulgence! But no worries...that guilt only lasted a minute! I realized all the wonderful antioxidants I was taking in and thought it was pretty much for my mental health as well as my physical!!!!! Haha!! This was surely a wonderful experience!!!!

Tucked away in Atlantic Beach, Pie Heaven…read moreBakery Cafe is quite possibly the cutest, most charming little pie shop you will ever walk into. The staff is warm, genuinely delightful, and makes you feel like a regular from the moment you walk through the door. Now let's talk pie. The coconut cream pie was incredible. The chocolate crème pie was incredible. But the key lime pie, has to be the best key lime pie in all of Florida. It was perfectly balanced, fresh, and exactly what a key lime pie should be. We tried several pies and there wasn't a single miss in the bunch. Every single slice was excellent! If you are anywhere near Atlantic Beach and you love pie, or even if you think you're just a casual pie person, get yourself to Pie Heaven. You will leave happier than you arrived, with a very full stomach and zero regrets.

There was a small patio with two tables in the front. I checked out the boards inside to see what pies were still available. I stopped by at roughly 1 PM. I wanted the coconut pie but that was gone and the employee suggested the coconut custard as she said it was her favorite. So I ordered one slice of coconut custard and a small chicken pot pie. I jumped into the pie after dinner later that evening. Oh my the pie was fabulous! Creamy and sweet with tons of coconut. But not overly sweet. The crust was flaky and delish also. Highly recommend the coconut custard! I waited a few days to heat the chicken pot pie in the oven. She added an instruction sheet in my bag which was helpful. The sheet explained how to heat up the pie as well as how long both the savory and sweet pies last once you take them home. The chicken pot pie was yummy! It was filled with lots of vegetables and plenty of chicken. The inside wasn't runny like most store-bought chicken pot pies but the filling was good! I wish the crust had gotten a little crunchier on the top. But maybe that's because I didn't bake it for three days. You can purchase slices of savory or sweet pies or whole pies. They are no longer taking orders for Thanksgiving but suggested you come by and grab one and freeze it.
