But not too pushy so you can browse through all of the marvelous products. On my last visit I was purchasing some Christmas gifts. And of course I had to buy something for myself LOL. But I was surprised to find sugar free chocolate. I purchased two products because I was curious. I tried the peppermint patties and the chocolate-covered caramel. Both were made with dark chocolate and both were fabulous! I purchased a few chocolate bombs for my friends and they loved them. You can find a variety of items here that you can't find in a grocery or drug store. Plus all of chocolate is made in house. I also sampled a few ice cream flavors and they were yummy. After some deliberation, I opted for a small cup of peanut butter chocolate mixed with hazelnut gelato that was both sweet and satisfying, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite while relaxing in the charming atmosphere outside. There were also so many different categories of treats from popcorn, to hand dipped to assortments milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white, chocolate, and baskets full of goodies. The salted caramel was my wife's preferred one, but it was rather dry. The pistachio was properly moist, and I preferred it. The chocolate eclair ($4.75) was pretty good, but, again, rather dry. It was also small. We got two beignets ($1.50 each): chocolate and berry. The chocolate was a bit dry, but my wife's preference, and the berry was moist and I preferred it. The Nutella waffle ($5.50) was pretty large. It would need more something to be really good though. Probably slather it with Nutella and whipped cream. I'd say it was more drizzled with Nutella than slathered. We went back and got a bit more Nutella on it, but it still wasn't enough. It was pleasant, like everything here, but not something I'd get again. There was no gelato this time: their freezer was out of service. I've never tried their meringues or chocolates. This place probably isn't as good as it once was: I remember really liking some things here in the past (see my previous reviews of this and other locations of Le Macaron). Dried-out pastries just aren't going to make for a successful place. Additionally, the competition in pastry shops has risen enormously: there are multiple good French pastry shops in our area now. Le Macaron just doesn't seem competitive to me, so I probably won't be back.

He was so nice and well-informed on all of the desserts. When picking out each flavored macaron he provided me a quote to match the flavor or a fun fact about the taste. I was so impressed with him. We were a party of 7 ordering a variety of macarons, gelato, shakes, and pastries close to closing time and he did not skip a beat. He didn't rush us and was all about having happy customers. I have been to other locations for this company that do not offer the same level of service so that speaks volumes. I don't go to Jacksonville too often, but when I do I will make sure to stop over to this mall for some macarons because they are so delicious and worth every penny. Plus with the level of service, they offer you really cannot go wrong here.
